Ruth's Chris Steak House - Boca Raton Ratings and Reviews
This was a first date so I wanted it to be special. I asked for a table in the quietest area of the restaurant, which they accommodated. I've been to many Ruth's Chris restaurants but not this location. I was not disappointed! Despite a couple of minor service glitches (not by our waitress, but by others) the overall experience was wonderful. I'd like to make special mention of our server Autumn who more than compensated for the mistakes and provided warm and friendly service.
I will be back on another date for sure!
I was somewhat disappointed in my dining experience. I have been to this restaurant before and always had a perfect evening. This time was different. The service was not up to my expectations for a fine dining establishment.
A drink was spilled on me, the wrong first course was served to one of my guests, and a request for sugar for my coffee had to be repeated.I expect more from this restaurant and my expectations were not realized.
Great place for steak and the sweet potato casserole. I wish the casserole portion was bigger just because we are fans of it. The service is always professional and spot on. The beer selection could be improved but this is not really the place for a big assortment. The bread pudding dessert was also quite surprisingly delicious.
My friend and I went for PB flavor of the month. It appeared that the waiter became extremely disinterested when we mentioned that . He finally brought the menu and then left us sitting for 15 minutes before he returned to take our order. He also spilled a full glass of water on the table and hardly apologized. We changed our table and the manager was very cordial. With regards to the food, I must say that was quite good. Steak was cooked to perfection., however, I am not inclined to return.
Came here for my 1 year marriage anniversary. Everyone was very sweet and attentive. Our server was happy and accomadating to our needs. The steak was fantastic. Juicy and tasty just like we wanted. Their lobster Mac and cheese was also very tasty. I've tasted alot it lobster Mac and cheese so I've compared to the best and worst. I was a little disappointed with the bread they brought. I was raised in an Italian family so I was taught to know how fresh food is. Sadly, the bread they brought out wasn't fresh at all. I feel the bread is the opener to your meal so when it doesn't exceed your expectations it's a little annoying. I'm normally not one to be picky but when your spending over 100 bucks on dinner you want things to be right. All in all our experience was awesome. Our server brought us a complimenrtry dessert wishing us happy anniversary along with a card. We would set reccomend this location to friends and family !
After a few not so great meals, I have not eaten here in several months, but tonight everything was back to the high Ruth Criss standards. Our steaks were too perfection, the lobster bisque was delicious, and the sweet potato topped with walnuts the best ever!
We were 2 couples celebrating 2 birthdays and we dined off of the Palm Beach Flavor menu- a fixed price menu of $35. The service was excellent. Food prep was fair- one steak was over cooked. Food quality was okay. The restaurant seemed to be a little 'long in the tooth', in need of a refresh. Also, the area of the restaurant that we were in was one large room, not conducive to a quiet or romantic evening. If we had to pay the standard menu prices for our meals I would have been very disappointed.
The restaurant is overrated for the cost, people on a Saturday evening came in with shorts, service was slow. The couple next to us were well on their way with cocktails and were stuffing forks down his shirt, I guess to steal them. Not very classy. The steak however was pretty good.
We've been coming here monthly for years... Always good and pretty dependable food and service, great wine selection... But this time, everything was (I can't believe I am saying this) ... perfect. Drinks were right, service was outstanding, manager came by... Our steaks (2-11oz filets)that we ordered rare were delectable. Their platter came out really sizzling so we could put a little brown on our side dishes, which also were really near perfection! Hey is there a new chef?!!!
Our meal was exceptional. From the great tasting, well mixed drinks to our delicious salad and the outstanding service. Oh and lest we forget the fabulous Porterhouse for two, carved and served tableside. Well seasoned, sizzling on the plate. Tender and juicy, packed with flavor! Expensive, and worth it.
Our first time to this location. Complementary Valet was nice.
Service a bit slow and rushed at the same time. Old Fashioned was definitely not worth the $14. I've had better for far less..if its to be a $14 drink, it better be a $14 drink. Way too much ice, and what tasted like cherry syrup.
Food was good, table was sprinkled with hearts for our anniversary. Nice.
We felt far away from each other while seated across from one another at the booth. Lighting wasn't as dim as in other places...kind of took away from the romance.
But good steaks.
You would never guess we were celebrating a special occasion . Even though I noted a milestone birthday when making the reservation and again by phone when speaking to a restaurant staffer who called to confirm our reservation, our waiter was completely oblivious until we mentioned it. There were no table decorations or any special accommodations whatsoever. For a slow Monday night in the middle of summer I can't say the lack of attention to detail could be blamed on volume of business either. The restaurant had maybe 5 tables of patrons during our visit. There were staff just standing around making idle conversation with each other.
The food was good. The server went out of his way to offer us anything he could to ensure we had a pleasurable dining experience. He was the only enthusiastic member of the staff on our visit. Although our waiters were as attentive as they needed to be it didn't seem important to them whether we were enjoying our celebration or not. They were just doing their job.
We have celebrated special occasions at this restaurant before. There was always a bigger deal made and a complimentary dessert offered. Tonight we wondered if that perk had been discontinued. The waiter brought us desert menus and never made any comments about the birthday. My husband had to go to the host and ask if a complimentary desert was indeed coming. Eventually it showed up. My son was satisfied with it.
I have celebrated other very special occasions at other high end restaurants in Boca and been treated with excitement, special consideration and superior service. Perhaps Ruth's Chris doesn't feel that's necessary. When you receive a bill totaling several hundred dollars I find it hard to believe complimentary drinks or desert are that much to expect. Ruth's Chris does not deserve our business in the future or any part in our special celebrations.
