Food was fabulous, service impeccable, so sad seeing the Bethesda location closing tonight 12/24/21. Luckily, all the employees we talked with are getting transferred to other Ruth's Chris locations.
Our final meal at this beautiful but closing Ruth Chris restaurant was so lovely. It was enhanced by our surprise discovery that our favorite waiter Adrien had returned and was able to serve our table!
Great restaurant and staff
Ruth’s Chris in Bethesda is closing for good, apparently, at Christmas according to staff.
Wonderful food as always. Great service. Wonderful ambiance.
Sadly the most beautiful restaurant in the Washingtion area is closing. Love the food atmosphere and service. Always our go to place for really special occasions will be gone. 😢
Great experience. Will definitely dine there again.
Everything was Phenomenal as usual
Food was very good. I had an 8 ounce steak and baked potato. The steak would melt in your mouth and the potato was cooked perfectly, but appeared to have come out to my table a little to late as it was closer to room temperature versus hot.
The service was pretty lacking. Had a reservation at 5:45 and arrived at 5:40, but hostess didn't greet me until 5:47. I know I was early, but there weren't many people in the restaurant. A group of 8 came in behind me so we were all congregated in the front with the bartender not even acknowledging us to say someone would be with us. My waiter also had the party of 8 that came in so was very inattentive. Had to wait a while just to get a refill on my diet coke.
Overall, service left a little to be desired, but the food was very good. Would recommend to everyone, but come with some patience.
Superb. So sad it’s closing.
We came to Ruth’s Chris with a first-timer in our family — our son, Max — in order to celebrate his 13th Bday! And we feel so lucky & grateful that William was there, waiting to be our server!!! He was so enthusiastic (took the best Family pics!) and warm and informative and made our son, Max, feel sooo special! He also lead us try all the right food — so we had a festive AND delicious dinner!!! Anyway, while we live super-close to the RC Bethesda location and are sad it’s closing, thanks to William, we will definitely be back to the Downtown Crown location in Gaithersburg, and we hope to see William again there!!!
The staff was amazing, no complaints on their behalf but the food was a 3/10. It taste like their was no seasoning at all! The food was so bad that after a first few bites I asked for the check. The food is to expensive to taste like my 10 year old sister made it.
Nice dinner! Wouldn’t recommend the lobster bisque as is is very thin and salty. The service was pretty good
Great service. Good food. Very pricey wine for the quality however.
The food was bland and much too salty. The service was neglectful of our needs. Couldn’t get the attention of the staff about 95% of the time. Will never go back.
We appreciate you writing about your recent visit with us. Guest satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us and your feedback has been shared with the local team so they can work to improve. Thank you for providing your feedback.
The service was excellent I enjoyed the Thanksgiving Menu.
I ordered one thanksgiving meal and one lamb chops because I don't eat turkey. The waiter brought two thanksgiving turkey specials. I had my lamb chops, and my son had one turkey meal and took the extra one home. I hate to pay for a meal that I did not order, but it was Thanksgiving, so I did not want to make a scene.
We had Poor service from all but one of our waiters. We had a party of 12. And repeatedly have to ask for refills, and wait for service. The main course took a long time to arrive. We placed our orders well ahead but waited close to an hour for the main course to arrive. The appetizers arrived great and on time. One server was particularly rude and full of excuses instead of accepting the fact that we were not getting attentive service.
Hospitality is a source of great pride for our company and when a guest feels that he or she has not received the service that is the hallmark of the Ruth’s Chris name, we take those assertions seriously. We appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention and will work to ensure this doesn't happen again.
Since this location will soon close its doors permanently, it's seems a bit of a waste to review them, but here goes.
I've been dining here for 25 years. Several years ago, I stopped because of rising prices, smaller portions and another location more convenient to me. Last night's visit was more for nostalgia reasons than anything else.
The service lived up to expectations. My steak was good, but did not WOW me as it has in the past. The asparagus was disappointing to be kind. The menu has shrunk to a fraction of what it once was.
I'm glad I went, but am in no hurry to repeat this experience at a different location. If you have fond memories of this Ruth's Chris, I suggest you make one last visit while you can. If not, skip it!!!
A lovely experience, sorry to see this restaurant closing in the not too distant future
William was exile
It was grest
Overpriced for very mediocre experience. It’s a steak house so a $52 steak should be done to perfection. Ordered med-well, got medium-rare. Had to be sent back, by then it was well done. Disappointing.
Melmarmia, thank you for your candid review. We hold ourselves to the highest brand standards for food quality and what you describe is not consistent with our standards. We will work hard to improve and appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
Excellent ambiance. Excellent service and of course excellent food. I can't wait to return. Went with friends and we had a lovely time.
The crab cakes were excellent. The steaks arrived at the fineness requested, and the filet wasn’t bad, though the very heavy Bernese sauce was, well, very hearty. Still, the filet was ok. The NY strip, Bieber, was not ok. Almost half of it was gristle and fat. And the asparagus was disgraceful: half of the skinny stalks were yellow or brown, and all were as stringy and tough as ramps. These poor things should have been given a decent burial, not served to unsuspecting customers. The thin Hollandaise was no help. Service was attentive.
Took myself out on a date night I reserved a table and arrive 15 minutes early the host seated me immediately. The server/bartender Hector was excellent. After every course Hector checked on me making sure that I was enjoying my experience. Hector gave drink suggestions. I had a New York strip steak and it was cooked to perfection. I finish my dining experience off with a glass of champagne. Hector suggested adding peach schnapps and a lemon peel in which tasted like dessert in a glass.
Hostess greeted and seated us, even seamlessly shifting our group to another table when the booth appeared to be too small. Service was great, food was good. Solid value.
Only concern is the space is pretty dramatically outdated and a bit loud.
Great food as usual. Waiter was a little slow checking in with us for the amount of people dining.
The food was incredibly delicious!
Great steak dinner. The sides, main course and dessert were amazing.
I had a wonderful experience. We had the Tomahawk. It was wonderful! Great service as well. We went 30 minutes earlier than planned with no issues being serviced.
I hadn’t been to Ruth Chris in years. I was expecting a little more for the price. Overall it was an okay meal, just not worth the price.
Great Saturday evening. Although we preferred a later time for dinner the earlier seating worked out fine. The wait staff - Amber - was wonderful. Thoughtful, did not rush us, filled our classes with water without asking asked us if we wanted bread and brought us back warm bread - usually the second loaf is cold. Lovely evening with delicious food and service
Three of us went to the restaurant, and we each ordered a different item: Ribeye steak, Sea Bass and T-bone steak. We each ahd a glass of wine. For dessert tow of us had a creme brulee and a bread pudding. The sea bass lacked having a slice or two of lemon on the plate. Everything well seasoned and tasted delicious. We had asparagus and mushroom sides as well. Service was impeccable and our server was Franck. It was a bit pricey, but we enjoyed the food, atmosphere. Don't let the price stop you from going and experiencing a nice evening out. We plan to go back again.
Sat at the bar. Same quality service and food!
not been to RuthChris for a while and wont be rushing back, always used to be a top experience not anymore, apathetic service, cold french fries, after main given desert menu, server comes back after 30 seconds to ask what we want asked him to give us a moment , and he did just that. Wanted calimari, they were out, then the 'icing on the cake', wanted New York Strip, they were out, alledgedly the pre-eminent steak eatery in the US and they dont have NYS, to be honest the steak we did get was good but the whole dining experience was underwhelming at best, for their price of dinner and wine I expect a tip top experience, this was not it
Lobster tails overpriced for what they were. Previously frozen and not
Fresh tasting at all!! Waitress was wonderful.
We were there to celebrate our 33rd Anniversary. The restaurant was perfect, the service was great and the food was outstanding as usual.
