It was our anniversary we went for restaurant week and the waitress was trying up charge on the menu. She even tried to up charge us on the wine.
She was rude and it a very uncomfortable dinner. We usually go to Capital Grille and are never treated this way. We decided to try Ruth Chris because my husband enjoys their food better. It was a uncomfortable dinner and ruined our anniversary celebration.
Our server left half way through our meal, no one said anything. We ordered our dessert to go and it took over 20 minutes!! It was not busy at all!
I was surprised initially at the lack of presentation! Maybe this was because it was restaurant week? I have not eaten here before. I ordered the filet. It was definitely the fattiest filet I have ordered in an upscale restaurant. The sides, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, were mediocre at best. It was definitely a lack luster experience. Disappointing.
If he could afford it, my friend would have a very good time.
We had a wonderful dinner at Ruth's Chris. Service was great, food was outstanding and loved the restaurant week deal. It was very nice that there was a wine paring along with the restaurant week deal.
It was a celebration of the birthday of my now deceased dad. My mom and I celebrate every year since his death in 2013. So special occasion. The staff - Julio -was excellent and most attentive. So glad came
Excellent evening out! Great service by Douglas and Elia :-)
Steak wasn’t entirely cooked as we wanted but service was ideal.
Overall our meal was very good. We were seated late in the evening and received the last of the creamed spinach. Usually one of our favorites but not so good this time. The waitress was happy to replace it with another side. The place was extremely quiet as there were only about 4 other tables occupied. Needless to say our waitress, Kelsey, was very attentive, as was the rest of the staff. The steak and fish were great as usual.
Service was great and so was the food! Just did not like the lobster bisque.
Birthday celebration, they had a birthday card at the table as well as birthday confetti. It was a terrific evening, could not thank them enough.
Ruth's Chris is an excellent steak house. They are very authentic in demonstrating genuine concern for their customers and their dining experience. If you experience any issue regarding your meal or service, they are quick to respond and remedy the situation so that the customer is satisfied and enjoys their dining experience. I highly recommend them!
Rookie cooking the steaks. Could not get temperature correct with two tries
A great restaurant to go to if you want to treat yourself to high end, quality steaks, amazing wine, and decadent desserts. All of the food was absolutely delicious!
Excellent dining location for special events like birthdays or anniversaries. Food is always superb. Highly recommend.
The service was unusually slow...had to remind the waiter about our wine. Food was good but 2 out of 3 steaks were significantly over cooked. We’ve been coming for years and will be back but this was disappointing.
Great food and great service. Fantastic whole lobster to go with wonderful steaks. Expensive but worth it.
Ruth's in Bethesda is always a great place; starting with having Valet Parking; then seating us without our full party present; we also had the greatest server, a lady and I do not remember her name; put she went over-the-top to accommodate some of our quirky requests. All good!
The food and service was absolutely amazing! If I’m correct Sarah was our server and she was amazing.
Great service and good food for our anniversary- decor is dated, but not distasteful.
Overall a solid place to celebrate. Waitress was simply amazing, as should be expected at a place in this price point.
A wonderful anniversary meal as always. Douglas, our server, was terrific. It's always nice to be greeted by Roz. Thank you for a really memorable dinner.
Our sever was the BEST. I believe her name was Sophia. She did everything to make sure our night there was the BEST. We travel from HARFORD County, Md. it was a great decision to travel and visit there.
I had a party of 6 for my mothers 89th birthday. You all went the extra mile with the table decorations and the birthday card for her. She was so happy. Thank you all very much. The food, service, the entire team were wonderful.
Staff was wonderful in helping celebrate anniversary but Rib Eye was a bit tough and overpriced
Very nice overall. Asked for medium rare got medium well. Asked for chocolate dessert got something else.
Birthday. Great as always
Great service and meal. My family of six celebrated Father’s Day together. Our server Emmanuel was exceptional! Courteous and attentive! Cowboy ribeye was outstanding, as usual. Thank you to the team!
Great atmosphere, excellent service and good food. A perfect evening.
It was fine. Just fine. There were several service errors, and the steak was one of the worst cuts I’ve had at any decent restaurant. The sides were good and the staff were very pleasant. I think these suburban locations just don’t get the care and attention that the more urban locations get. They do charge the same prices though!
Birthday celebration for our son. Came home stuffed and happy. We love RC!
We had excellent service.
First time at Ruth’s Chris, seemed a notch or two down from a Del Frisco or Palm if comparing to national chains - ribeye was a bit thin of cut, plate oddly small so hard to fit veggies, etc. not bad just that at that price point should have been better.
It was my mom’s birthday and the manager had very poor service and managerial skills. Wasn’t tasteful and wasn’t pleased. Crab cakes weren’t even good. Mom and aunt did enjoy their rib eye and lamb chops.
Great food and service. Unfortunately, lots of construction around Bethesda making the views outside horrible. Other than that, it was great!
The evening stated out with the bar being out of Lillet Blanc - a basic bar staple. It progressed with each ordering a petite filet - one medium rare and one medium. The medium rare filet was perfect. the medium filet - did not look like a filet (too thin) and was not cooked properly (too rare). The server told us that was the cut of meat they use when it's ordered medium. No, I said, it should look like the one cooked medium rare - just cooked to medium. The manager then came over and said that he would replace it. The one that came out was even worse than the first one! It did not look like the medium rare filet, it was thin and had a big fat vein running through it and it was still under-cooked!
We decided not to have a third filet cooked - since they screwed up the first 2. Then, the server and the manager began to avoid us. We had to go looking for our check and then a different server presented it to us. They could have made it so right - but they didn't!
Walked down to Morton's where they took great care of us.
We've been going to the Ruth's Chris Gaithersburg location since it opened and have never had to send a meal back once - let alone twice.
Shockingly poor. The wait staff was terrific, but every other aspect was awful. They had way overbooked. We were not seated until 20 minutes after our reservation time. We were then informed that they would be an exceptionally long wait before any order could be filled. After we ordered, I waitress came back to inform us that many of the items we had ordered, including ribeyes, petite ribeyes, and chocolate mousse, were no longer available. And then some of the substitute items we ordered were poorly cooked, such as a filet ordered medium but served well done. As noted, the wait staff was terrific but they were struggling with a complete meltdown behind the scenes.
Celebrated Mother’s Day with a large dining party of 10 here (in addition to a newborn baby). Staff was accommodating and service was stellar from start to finish.
We love going here. We Love Roz’ Smile and greetings from the minute we walk in! The food is always superb and the service outstanding! We always get the filet which is tender and cuts like butter. The soufflé side is the beat and we always get two for the four of us. Everything is perfect. The desserts are yummy as well. Great place for any occasion.
