Ruth's Chris Steak House - Bellevue Ratings and Reviews
We were seated promptly in the upstairs area instead of downstairs. I'd never sat upstairs, but will not again as the service was awful. Sometimes would not see the waiter for 20 minutes even after we ordered drinks. Every time we ordered something it took forever to arrive. The food was just OK with errors (steak over-cooked) which is really bad for a high-end steak house. Didn't bother asking for another steak as we figured it would arrive after dessert at the rate they were moving. No idea if they were short-staffed or what, as the waiter never apologized for the long delays and for us having to remind him of our drink order or other order. As example, we ordered a bottle of wine shortly after sitting down and reminded the waiter twice before we finally got it about 30 minutes later. We talked about leaving and wish we had. This was all shocking to me as I've taken people to this restaurant many times and never had anything but excellent service. Very disappointing.
Phenomenal dinner for my birthday celebration. Ruth's is my favorite restaurant for a special occasion and they did not disappoint. Steaks were cooked perfectly as ordered, baked potato, incredible wine list and even a complimentary dessert as a birthday treat. Reservations made online was effortless and when we were seated we found birthday confetti on our table. What a personal touch! Thank you for a perfect evening!
We went to dinner for a birthday dinner for a family member. The service from the staff was excellent from the time we entered up until we left the restaurant. Our waiter Aaron made our dinner special due to his prompt attention to our needs and stopping by often to ask how we were doing. We ordered the 3 course meal and everything tasted wonderful. The steaks were cooked to our specific preferences and were absolutely delicious! The desert with 'Happy birthday' written on the plate was a thoughtful touch and made my sister feel special.
Also the General Manager Scott Filch stopped by to inquire about how we were enjoying our dining experience. It was impressive to see such attention by everyone involved. I strongly recommend Ruth's Chris Steak House for my next steak dinner and will be back again!
Disappointing dining experience. Restaurant was very busy. Server was inattentive. Caesar salads were great. Steaks were good, not exceptional. Server told us to expect sizzling plates, plates were not sizzling. Our potatoes weren't hot nor was our other side of corn. Server never returned to check if our filets were cooked properly. Maybe a visit on a weekday would have been a better dining experience?
Came here to celebrate my niece's birthday with her and a friend of hers. My niece got filet mignon with potatoes and a Caesar salad. She thought it was amazing...tender and tasty.
Her friend and I opted to get the lobster mac and cheese...which was good but basically okay. I know better than to order something that's not meat at a steakhouse but I was expecting the mac and cheese to be much better. I like bigger macaroni and for the cheese to be less liquid.
However, the service was terrific as usual...friendly service and we were checked on at regular intervals. Nice and consistent here!
I go to the in Del Mar 2-4 times a month. The service and food quality at this location were horrible. My steak had a huge vein and muscle running through it. There are so many other great restaurants in the area. Save your time and money and eat at one of those.
We've been coming to this location for lunch for awhile now. This was the first time we had such horrible service. For some reason the bartender was server and she was too busy chatting with customers in the bar. Just not a great idea to have the bartender be your server when she can't see you where we were seated.
Ruth's Chris does a fantastic steak - in our case a petite filet - along with excellent sides (creamed spinach / fingerling potatoes), as well as starters. We were sorry we were so full we had no room for dessert...maybe next time. This is our 'go-to' place for special occasions or when we're just in the mood for an excellent steak dinner. The only little thing of note is that even though we had a reservation that it still took a while to get actually seated, which was a little bit disappointing. Nonetheless we'll be back soon enough!
We attended Ruth's Chris for my husband's 30th birthday (which I noted in the reservation comments) it was great when we were taken to our table and noticed birthday confetti on the table, such a nice touch. Our server was very attentive and informative. The food was divine, best steak I've ever had! My husband also received an on-the-house birthday dessert, so special for him. Overall wonderful experience
The service and food was wonderful! This was our third visit and again, not to be disappointed. The steak was cooked to my husband's preference and the salmon was delicious! Yes, I went to a steak house and chose to have the salmon. When you can say that you went to a steak house and had the salmon and it was fantastic, then you know you've found an impeccable restaurant!
I don't often edit meat. Ruth's Chris is the exception. The petit filet I had a month ago had me yearning for another. Returned and was just as impressed as before. The fingerling potatoes and broccoli were also delicious. Prices are high but it's definitely worth it. This is my new favorite special occasion restaurant.
Every piece of our meals was perfect. The Service was great - folks turned up at just the right time. We never felt rushed. Never had to wait.
Steaks were prepared exactly as requested.
The asparagus (requested side) was grilled wonderfully (don't bother with the hollandaise) and the creamed spinach, though not as thick as I'd like - was perfect for my wife.
The decor is a little generic and there certainly isn't a view (its on the edge of the mall after all) so its tough to give "ambiance" more than the 3*.
Ambience is good. We were seated by second floor top of the stairs, and it was a bit noisy and drafty, however.
Service was excellent. Servers were courteous without that sulky attitude that you often encounter in Seattle (one of the reason I don't dine in Seattle often).
Food was good. Appetizer portion was stingy but tasty. Steak tasted too young. I don't think it was aged for long. It was true for both filet magnon and ribeye.
Something unexpected bothered me: size of plates for steak. Mine was so small that I did not have space to place my asparagus. It probably was a sensible decision for the management, considering that servers had to carry dinner plates up and down the stairs and tables were quite small, but too small dinner plates were neither esthetically pleasing nor practical. The small birthday dessert on the house was tasty and we appreciated it.
So, I'm in the industry it's rare for me to go out and find the perfect spot for date night with my man. Jean was knowledgeable, made sure every item was fit to what I wanted, followed a dangerous nut allergy impeccably, friendly, professional, and a gentleman. I have yet to find any server that I would recommend as highly as him. Hodge was awesome too! I feel like they were such a good team. Thank you we most definitely will be back
We had a FANTASTIC meal here for my husband's birthday. Steaks (filet and NY strip) were wonderful - well-prepared and delicious. The service was excellent. I told them it was my husband's birthday when I made the reservation, and they celebrated it in lovely ways. Free special dessert, little happy birthday greetings on the table, and personal good wishes. This restaurant is priced for a special occasion but DEFINITELY delivered. The best service I have had on the Eastside and that includes "special" places like Cafe Juanita.
