Ruth's Chris Steak House - Bellevue Ratings and Reviews
The service and food were excellent for celebrating this family birthday. Three generations were represented and everyone was very pleased with their food and drinks. The waiter did an excellent job of guiding us on our menu selections. We felt that we received extremely good service!
The food was very good. They sat us at a table for four and there was two of us. We felt uncomfortable but they were very accommodating and moved us to a table for two. The food was great but don’t go here looking for a quick meal. We were an hour late to our party after because the service was so slow.
We went to celebrate a birthday; they knew ahead of time and had little confetti on the table and both servers said "happy birthday." The food was great. Along with our steaks we had the spicy shrimp appetizer, potatoes au gratin side, and chocolate duo dessert. I would recommend any and all of those items. The prices are not inexpensive, so keep that in mind, but it was a great experience and I would go again for a special occasion.
We opted for the classic Ruth Chris which is a three course meal. I have food sensitivities and unfortunately the menu did not include all The finishing touches on items; such as their house salad description Did not include croutons and the side dish of broccoli knee did not mention it would come with cheese on it. My biggest disappointment was there was no option for the desert that we paid for and couldn’t eat due to dairy and gluten issues. When I asked the server if we could substitute Fruit, she said there would be a five dollar up charge. I did take a minute to speak with a manager before leaving, so if you go push the server to talk to her manager, because he said there is something that they could’ve offered us. We will go back.
I took my two daughters, 14 and 11 for a special holiday girls dinner. We had an amazing time. The service was OUTSTANDING and we're still talking about the food a month later. Although expensive, for a special night, it was completely worth it. A memory that will stay with us for a long time.
Waitress greeted us with just, “Hi. Want an appetizer?” No “welcome, my name is, care for a drink?” We’ve come to expect exemplary service here, so we were largely stunned throughout the meal, as this level of service continued. Waited 20 minutes for her to reappear with bread (which we actually figured must not be served here anymore), then the meal appeared 5 minutes later, with her saying “Here ya go, hun.” It felt like we were in a New Jersey diner. We had to ask three times for water refills with empty glasses—one time we asked who appeared to be the manager, and still waited several minutes. Our table was never cleared of crumbs, so we had corn kernels staring at us through dessert. Speaking of dessert, it took awhile for our order to be taken, and our empty dishes were sitting for about 10 minutes. After finishing dessert, the waitress asked if we’d like coffee. Yes that would’ve been nice WITH dessert... Anyway this was all in such stark contrast with anything we’ve ever experienced here, it was kind of Twilight Zone-ish. Definitely not the special meal we’d been anticipating for Christmas Day. The hosts at the front desk were fantastic and made you believe for a minute that you were someplace special, so that was something.
Low carb vegetarians - very little options here these days. Go to Daniels where vegetarians have their own menu with plenty of low carb options.
We used to dine here a lot - date nights, family birthdays, celebrations, etc. The service and food selection for vegetarians continues to slide down hill. On this December trip, our table was not ready when we arrived (unusual but not a big deal) so we were asked to take a seat in the bar while we waited. We ordered drinks and a few minutes later the host told us our table was ready and then walked away leaving us to figure out whether we had to pay our bar bill or whether it would transfer to our table? Then we were expected to carry our own drinks up several flights of stairs (One of us was in heels right from work) to our table. I’ve never seen a classy restaurant not offer to take care of these details for their customers when moving them from the bar to a table. Apparently the restaurant was extremely full so they moved a group of us into a freezing cold banquet room where they were busily assembling extra tables.
I used to LOVE the vegetarian options here which used to be healthy and also low carb. Even when they would be out of the portobello mushroom, they would always put together a few different sides, on one plate, and I couldn’t have been happier. The change to a vegetarian pasta option is not a healthy alternative (regular noodles, not edamame or zucchini) and when I asked if they could just put together some sides on one plate I was told that the mushroom side is now cooked with meat products and there is no way to prepare it differently.
The only consolation prize for this vegetarian in eating here is that they are still willing to prepare the chop salad without meat - DELICIOUS!! So if you’re a low carb vegetarian and can be happy with just salad (because there are definitely no vegetarian appetizers here), this place should work for you. If not, go to Daniels.
I don't think we will ever book for thanksgiving again. We had 6pm reservations and didn't get seated until 730. We ordered right away but out food didn't come out until around 815 and they ran out of mashed potatoes so we had to wait for those. My 10 and 6 year old were pretty over the whole thing. Normally we love Ruth's Chris! The staff was very nice and apologetic.
