We were really impressed with the service. We were at first concerned that a large group, which was destined for a table set up near ours, was going to overwhelm the two of us with the volume of their celebration. But the manager figured out the problem without us even saying anything, and efficiently went about setting up a different table in another room for them. And when she learned that we were celebrating a birthday, the champagne we had ordered turned out to be on the house. When I asked about the right wine to pair with the steak, the waiter brought us a sample of a zinfandel that was perfect. And the steak was cooked just right -- we usually get stuck with a medium whenever we order medium rare, but not here. The food isn't really nuanced or sophisticated, but that's not what you want in a steakhouse anyway. It was simple, good, fresh, and hearty, and a decent value. This place knows what it's doing.
This is my overall favorite Ruth's Chris location. And as usual, the food and the service were both great. Our server, Jamee, did a fabulous job.
The server was awesome. The as always was amazing
We're always had great experiences here. We go here for special occasions. One of the things we love is the fabulous attentive service, but alas service was AWFUL, insultingly AWFUL. We should have requested a change when we saw one couple looking anxious turned in their seats constantly trying to get the waiter's attention. Instead we sat their while said waiter refused to take our drink order until the whole party arrived. Once they did 15 minutes later he rudely informed us that we would have to wait until everyone knew what they wanted to drink- like we were children- because he would only be making one trip to the bar. REALLY? SERIOUSLY? This is my husband's birthday and you are scolding him for wanting a drink? So we started to ask the bus boys for drinks or would ask him before we were finished because drinks took about 30 minutes. Still we only got 2 or 3 drinks (we usually do 5) I think he went up to all his tables and made us all order at the same time so save him trips to the bar. When coffee was served he left it on a table next to our table for 10 or 15 minutes. He walked away, we finished dessert and then he came back 10 minutes later and poured it. A new couple was seated next to us. 15 minutes later the man stood up and was screaming, like top of his lungs screaming at a manager about the waiter. She offered him wine so maybe he was being scolded and ignored too. It was his anniversary. All IU'm saying is special occasion places need special occasion service. This was not a new server, but there was obviously something not right with him. His attitude, his demeanor, he was sweaty, a little shaky. So I guess i will be rethinking my special occasion restaurant. Also I called in advance to tell them it was my husband's 40th birthday. They offered to put rose petals on the table and give him a free dessert....none of that happened. Instead we were taken through an empty restaurant to a big table and stood there while they set the table in front of us.
As expected, a great evening. I was a little disappointed in the calamari, the Thai sauce was not as flavorful as I recalled from previous dining experiences. The steak was great as were the sides. Always a good place to go for special occasions.
Extraordinary food, steak prepared perfectly, best carpaccio anywhere; but so-so, disappointing service.
Our dinner was great and mark our waiter was excellent. In addition the bartender was very attentive and provided excellent service. Great evening and made my sister 50 birthday extra special. Thank you.
My boyfriend and I was there to celebrate our 35th birthday. It was our first experience and our server Joshua made it one we'll never forget. He was very informative of the menuand made really great suggestions . When we forgot to order our appetizer in the beginning he made us feel comfortable with ordering it before desert. We really loved the rose petals on the table We will be back.
The food was very good but our waiter was very slow. He was very friendly. It was my birthday dinner and we told the waiter that. He did say happy birthday but that was it. No free dessert, no singing although I did hear them singing to another table. Would not come back for a special occasion.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Ruth's Chris. Everything from entering to leaving was excellent. This was for restaurant week, but we will make sure to come back.
Love the Baltimore location! Perfect date night spot, well worth the money.
I had to change my reservation time a few hours before we were to be there. Jasmine was absolutely great to deal with. When we arrived, our table was ready for us. No wait at all. Our server was David. He was absolutely fantastic. He had a great knowledge of steak and wine. He made my family feel welcome. I noticed the entire staff being very helpful to anyone who had a need or question. Great place and atmosphere. We will be back again. great job to Jasmine & David.

Food was great and the waitress was wonderful. I will definitely be back with my husband.
Servers were pleasant and accommodating. Steaks and salmon were cooked to perfection.
Au-gratin potatoes were not very warm; cheese was added to spinach to accommodate a special request from someone in our party; baked potato was outstanding.
A cocktail was ordered; three bartenders attempted to make the cocktail unknown to them; we greatly appreciated the efforts put into meeting our request and the gracious manner they accepted our decision to send the drink back and order something else from the bar.
We often go to Ruth's Chris for special occasions, and this year my son's 19th birthday fell during restaurant week. We had an incredibly perfect meal of salad, seafood gumbo, filet mignon, creamed spinach (yummy) and the sweet potato dish (more yummy) and a decadent chocolate cake for desert. The food was perfect, and the service was just wonderful. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. We will be back!
We had a delightful meal during Restaurant Week. It was an excellent value.
We had reservations for 7:30 but had to wait. Finally, they decided to open the 2nd floor just for us. When we got off the elevator, it was very dark getting to our table. Because our waiter also had customers on the 1st floor, there was no one there for us to call over if we needed something [bread, refill of a drink, etc]. It wasn't the waiters fault.
My friend and I took advantage of restaurant week. Our waiter name was Missy she was great!..I liked that she was able to be very detailed about certain items that I asked about. My friend and i really enjoyed our evening.
Great service, great food and such a very pleasant atmosphere overall
We went during restaurant week which I know isn't the best way to judge a restaurant. having said that, i still felt that Ruth's Chris could have done a better job. My husband and I both ordered off the restaurant week menu. I ordered the salad and should have asked for the dressing on the side...they completely drenched the salad greens w/dressing making it inedible. I ordered by petite filet cooked medium and my husband ordered his medium rare. The meals came out together and his cut of meat was probably cooked the same as mine but was a nice think filet ..mine looked more like a piece of sirloin ...
We ordered a side of brussel sprouts and they served us asparagus. They quickly adjusted but did also give us the asparagus
Desserts were very good.
Won't be heading back anytime soon ..it was convenient choice for the evening activity that night at Rams Head Live ...might check out the bar before going to the dining room.
Great place for restaurant week. Always the most tender, melt in your mouth steak. For $35, three course meal with generous serving of salad, petite filet and awesome flour less chocolate torte. Wine options all high priced. The staff pamper guests with attentive service
Very nice atmosphere. Food was GREAT
We dine there perhaps once a month or so. This time, it was our anniversary. The server ruined the date at the end of the day. He submitted the order to the kitchen, then did not care about us at all. He came back once, then we had to wait forever for the desert we ordered. He often visited the table on the other side of our table and started to chat with the customer for more than 5 minutes. I finally got an attention to the customer and had the server come take care of us. We didn't have time to eat the desert and asked him to make it to go. Then he brought us just one desert. When I asked him why one, he said "people usually share one." I corrected him indicating that we ordered two classics. Finally he remembered what we ordered and brought another cheesecake which was half melted. Never apologize even once for slow serving and mistake. We were truly disappointed because we wanted to end the day nicely. Thanks a lot!
Wobderful,Missy our waitor was wonderful. Our food came on time and extremely delicious.
My husband and I have dined at Ruth Chris on many occasions and we have always been 1000% satisfied. The food is always delicious and the service is exceptional. We plan to continue to dine there as often as we can.
We been this Ruth Cris and have never been disappointed. We were celebrating Father's Day. My husband had the filet and lobster tail, I had the filet and shrimp and my daughter had the kid's filet. The food was very good, cooked a little doner than ordered but I think it is because plates are 500° so your meal stays hot. The service was exceptional and I love antique chandelier and lights. We Will be back.
Missy our waitress had a lovely personality and was very familiar with the menu. She helped to make our dining experience one to remember!
This particular location is old school class. Can't go wrong. Take your time and enjoy it
This was our first time at Ruth's Chris, Missy was amazing I would highly recommend asking for her.
food was great. my two grandchildren loved the salmon, and the desserts
This is where my wife and I got engaged a few years ago. We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary together in the same venue and was truly amazing. The staff is knowledgable about specials drinks and how the food is prepared.
If you want the outback experience at a high price. Go for it!
My wife and stopped going to the Ruth'sChris on Water Street several years ago because of the service. We were given a gift card, and figured we might as well use it, so we went. The food was very good, but the service is just lacking. Just like we remembered from our last visit. Sorry Ruth's, restaurants succeed because of their service. We are saw our waiter maybe three times in three hours. Tough to keep your drink from going dry when service is like that.
Go if you have a promotion or gift card, other than that: leave it alone.
We have eaten here several times and each time better than the last
Celebrated my daughters graduation.
Great place love the downstairs area!
Ruth's Chris always an excellent choice for steak.
All around service from the minute we pulled up and used the valet service.
I have been going to the Water St location for 12 years. I would normally give it five stars, but the service isn't what it used to be. I'm not a big fan of the "chain" restaurants. This one is an exception based on the food and atmosphere. There is always a large turnover in the waiter/waitress staff. This is the problem with chains, because they are willing to compromise earnings for talent. Leander (Lenny) is an outstanding bartender there and is one of the few that has remained working here. It could also be a sign of the times with Baltimore's economy and the hospitality industry. I will still remain a loyal customer and weather the storm.
Food was cold my New York strip had more fat than usual the portion of our sides were small .i will take my wife to the Ruth Chris in d.c We had a great time at the bar
This was our first time at a Ruth's Chris steakhouse. The food and service was amazing. The best lobster and steak we had ever eaten . Our server was attentive but not intrusive. Rose petals on the table for our anniversary made it special.
Location is inner harbor, but no view of the water, not something that can be changed, just keep this in mind if inner harbor is the reason for the visit.
