The service was excellent and the two filet's we ordered were perfect. Was a bit surprised at the presentation of the Rib-Eye. It certainly didn't look like a $50 piece of meat. All of the sides were great.
Terrific as always and the service was exceptional. I am so glad to see an upscale restaurant that knows how to treat it's clientele - the wait staff dresses as you would want for a fine dining experience.
They gave away our table by mistake but made a great recovery as they gave us a free appetizer. The food was fantastic, our waiter was great and we had a wonderful experience.
always excellent food and especially the filet - mt wife had the salmon and she said the same- one of the best she's had
Well we love Ruth Chris but this time it was a different experience. although our waiter was a nice guy he was very sick and coughing during our order taking . I wanted to leave because I didn’t want anyone to get sick but just couldn’t with such a large birthday celebration . Needless to say I now have the cold virus !! The manager should have seen his employee was ill and sent him home . We were celebrating a birthday and it was not acknowledged which was disappointing to say the least . So not a good review by us .
Food was great and service spot on. Ruth Chris rarely gets it wrong. The manager (wish I knew his name) was awesome with a great sense of humor. Our waitress was super friendly as well.
I've been to one other Ruth's in Charlotte, NC. I had high expectations and I was NOT disappointed. The service was spot on. There was no waiting but, we were not rushed. The manager and staff helped my plan a great evening for a late Valentine's dinner. They received flowers for me and had them on the table when I arrived. They also made a great dessert and decorated the table with confetti hearts. I most definitely would recommend dining at the Austin location.
Service was excellent and very accommodating. Food was well prepared and steaks were cooked to perfection, despite the hot plate on which they arrived! Wine and cocktails were perfect as well.
Our first time at this Ruth's location although we have been to many in other cities. Quiet ambiance makes it a return restaurant for us in the future along with our friends.
We had an excellent server, his name was Michael. He provided excellent service and recommendations.
The service was good. Think the person who sat us could be better dressed and groomed, bartender was awesome. Food was great but overall worth $300...?
Like the new renovations, especially in the bar/lounge. The restaurant is not too big, it is small enough to feel intimate and allow for a nice conversation. The steaks are always among Austin's best. Service is consistently good. Marco was excellent.
Food was great as expected. My cocktail was awesome! Our waiter Vincent
Upon seating us they did not offer us dark napkins and we both had dark pants on. When placing my white napkins in my lap, noticed that it was dirty so I gave it to the hostess and it took her a few minutes to bring me another one and once again it wasn't a dark napkin. I also saw at the next table that the hostess did have dark napkins for them but dropped one on the floor and proceeded to pick it up and still gave it to the diner. Pretty disgusting start.
Awesome service. Awesome food. Me and my wife go there often..
Outstanding service and ambience. The food was good, but nothing special, especially for the price.
Went for husband's birthday. His meal was perfect. My lamb chops were over cooked but I did not send back. Everything else was just perfect!
Simply put, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse is the best in Austin.
I had one of the best steak meals I have had in years! Had enough to take home and enjoy the next morning also. And a free birthday cheesecake slice with ice-cream.
Yummy Yummy! I highly recommend Ruth's
Chris to all.
Great atmosphere. the service is excellent and the food was outstanding.
Great place for a steak. It isn’t cheap, but reasonable for the quality of food and the setting. It is noteably quieter than similar steakhouses in the area and great for a couple looking for a tasty meal while focusing on each other. We were there for a date night with my wife. I didn’t make special arrangements before hand other than clicking “date” on the open table reservation. There was some subtle heart confetti on the table which added a very nice touch.
First time dining here for a special Anniversary dinner. This is not a kid friendly restaurant yet a group with small screaming children were sat by our anniversary table. We asked to move. Then we had the most underwhelming dinner of our lives. Filet didn't even look like a filet it was flat and salty and lacked flavor. Eddie V's and Steiner Steakhouse much better. The lamb chops were covered in salt the first time and were remade and the second order all 3 lamp chops were cooked at 3 different temperatures, rare, medium and too well done. Manager and Executive chef both apologized and did take it off our ticket but this is unacceptable. The lamb chops lacked flavor and were mostly fat. The sizzling hot plates are stupid and because there is hot oil it pops. So hopefully you aren't wearing nice clothes otherwise you will have grease stains on you. Gimmicky and unnecessary. The wine list is marked up 300+% . 2012 Jordan retails for $50 and you can get 1 glass here for $52! Thats ridiculous. The only great thing about the evening was we sat in the lounge and they had a mediocre live jazz band (bass, piano, vocals). We will never go back. Not worth the $$
I was a little disappointed in the flavor of my petite filet. It was not up to the usual standard. Lobster Mac was excellent as blue cheese wedge.
Muy buenos Alimento y muy servicio el precio bueno
Worst dining experience ever. We came to celebrate my husbands birthday. Three of us ordered filets and none were cooked properly. We asked for them to be cooked more which they did and were still not correct. We were treated very rudely and told to leave. Never visiting again. When you are paying $$ for food you expect to get what you want.
Very disappointing. Our family of 5 has made a habit of doing a dinner at RC during the Christmas holiday when our boys are in from college. Although we had made reservations well in advance, we were placed at a makeshift table that had been expanded into an area where both waiters and patrons had to ask to get by. The food was okay, but not on par with our usual dinners here. The staff seemed so hurried and inattentive that we all decided it best to just get through the meal and leave. When I mentioned it to the manager the next day when he called to ask a question, he seemed unconcerned. Our prior years have been great. This was likely an off night, but it's highly unlikely we will return. Everyone in our party was disappointed with the evening.
Our reservation was not honored. Asked to wait in bar that was freezing. We came for the obstetrics and there was none left but tails. Not the same. The Chateau Simard was well priced and our server Rachael was delightful. Still this was our annual holiday family outing, always at Ruth’s Chris and we were very disappointed. We will not be going back.
Parking and valet was great. Arrived about 30 min early and checked in with the hostess. We were told we would be seated when they were ready for us, so we went to the bar. About 5 min after our reservation time I went to the hostess and asked how much longer until we were sat. She then told us we would be sat after it seemed like she realized they forgot about us.
Our waiter was knowledgeable and nice. My steak did not come with the added toppings. The manager came by and apologized for it. At the end of dinner asked for a cup of coffee and the check. All I received was the check.
We arrived 25 minutes early and were seated right away. Service was great. We asked for hot chocolate which was not an available beverage, but our server found a way to get it for us. 8 of us had 3 shared meals and 2 full meals. All was served hot and delicious without confusion.
The food was amazing and we both had a really good time celebrating her birthday.
Great food and service was spot on 😊 our waitress was very friendly and helpful and had good sense of humour which is nice and relaxing for both the customer and sever . Overall we had a lovely trip to Austin and one of our favourite restaurants 😊
Had a great time, I ordered all the sides so mom knew what I did as a prep cook for Ruth Chris Denver. Great to visit!!!
It took an hour and a 1/2 to eat. The restaurant ran out of filet and bread. How do you run out of bread?
My family and I made reservations here for Christmas Day however they were running behind in their reservations and we were made to wait at least 20 minutes. But we made it work by having some drinks in the bar. Upon sitting at our table we were told by the server that they were out of quite a few items but we weren’t bothered by that either. Our server, Tanner, was AMAZING! Really nice guy and totally made the experience for us. Because when it was time for the food all of the steaks weren’t cooked to our order. Med rare became well done, medium came out medium rare... etc. Management was very gracious and comped the steaks for us. We’re chalking it up to an overly crowded night.
This our 3rd Christmas dinner here and we always enjoy the great food and outstanding service! Steaks cooked perfectly, wonderful sides and the seafood tower is amazing!
We ate at the Austin Ruth's Chris on Christmas Day at 4:45. The food was as delicious as it always is at Ruth's Chris. The problem on this occasion was the service. It was very obvious that the restaurant is not used to handling the crowd that was there for Christmas dinner. Every table was full and continually turning over from our arrival until our departure. Our server was harried and kept apologizing for mistakes being made. He was certainly pleasant enough, but he was unfamiliar with the menu and overworked to the point of being unable to give us the attention that Ruth's Chris is famous for. Our drinks took too long to arrive. Our first courses arrived promptly, but while our plates were still half-full, our entrees arrived! His clearing of the table was sporadic - we had a party of five, and most times, plates were cleared only in front of some of us. In terms of service and attention to detail, it was not what we have come to expect from Ruth's Chris restaurants. We did not blame our server, though, because the management obviously placed him in an almost impossible situation. With most everyone having a reservation for Christmas dinner, the management should have been totally prepared for the numbers of diners they were to serve on that holiday.
Hard to give this restaurant a bad review after so many great steak dinners, but when you ruin my Christmas Eve dinner with family, sorry- have to let you go RC. This has been our family favorite for years for Christmas Eve dinner. Booked a table for 6 at 7:30. Arrived on time and told there would be a wait. Bar area had been turned into dining area, so there was no place to sit and enjoy a cocktail. Not that we could get a cocktail! Only two bartenders, and they both ignored us completely for 15 minutes—no eye contact or acknowledgement that we were standing there trying to order, until finally my nephew yelled out “hey can we get a drink!”. Ten minutes later we had drinks, but no cocktail napkins. Bartender spilled part of my drink on counter and disappeared without handing me a napkin or wiping it up. Once again ignored completely. Hostess returned and asked if we would like to be seated immediately in the bar area. Uh NO! It’s Christmas Eve. Black tables cloths, cold, no atmosphere. Told her we would wait. Well 45 minutes plus later with no drink refills, we were finally seated in the back room - another add on I suppose. We have always been seated in the main dining room. No atmosphere here. Manager came over and told us to enjoy three free appetizers on the house for the wait. Seriously? Where were we going to go? I contemplated ordering 3 $105 Seafood Towers! Our waiter Clint was polite, but running in circles. I think we finally had appetizers at 9:30. Service definitely not up to the standards this restaurant has always offered, especially on holidays. Sloppy holiday planning on restaurant management’s part. We won’t go back next year. There are plenty of great steakhouses in Austin. Sadly, RC seems to be struggling to compete.
