Ruth's Chris Steak House - Austin
Parents weekend with our son
Food and service was great. The challenge was getting past the crazies, drug addicts, beggars, outside on the street. Austin has subsidized all this behavior and is destroying downtown. Not sure we’ll return only to run this gauntlet again.
Bad service and bad attitude from manager. We were seated 1o-15 minutes minutes after our reservation, waited for water, bread and server to take order. The steaks were very good after we waited 30-45 minutes to get them. When we asked the manager to check on our food he was argumentative and non apologetic. After dinner we mentioned the long wait times and he said he was having a bad day-short staff, concert got out early, etc. but never sorry about your experience. The manager was not very well trained in customer service.
There was so much salt in our food—we even had to send back our salad.
This time our waiter was not able to serve our food someone else had to our food was left in front of us until someone finally came to serve us other then that everything was delicious as usual hopefully a better experience next time
Awesome experience...as expected.
Interesting a classic old style steak house in Austin. Service and good was great consistent with a Ruth's experience.
Excellent service and reasonable price. Classic is a good deal.
Worst experience I’ve ever had at a Ruth’s Chris. The food was perfect, but service terrible. Not necessarily the server but the entire staff! Wrong drink, wrong side dishes twice, management literally running through the restaurant, dishes knocked to the floor, and dishes and old glassware left on the table. Other tables around us openly complaining about the service. Very sad to see. Oh, and the check was wrong.
Service was terrible and the food was not up to what we normally experience at Ruth’s Chris restaurants.
Great service, great food.!
I will come back anyday over any other restaurant downtown delicious food great service
We love every Ruth’s Chris we have ever been too. This one was exceptional.
Wife and I were in town and had dined here before. Our waiter was very attentive even though he was pretty busy. Food was all prepared perfectly and tasted great. Seemed to take a little longer than usual to get our meal but they were very busy. I'd rather wait and have it come out perfect, which it did, than get it quick just to send it back. We just wish the veal osso bucco ravioli appetizer was larger as it is SO good and my wife's favorite. Only issue we had was with the valet service outside. It doesn't seem like they have ever done valet service before. Didn't open wife's door or mine and didn't even approach vehicle even though both were standing there not doing anything. Pretty much same thing when we left. Our car doesn't use a key and they left the remote in the cup holder. Had to ask where it was. I definitely recommend dining here as this is a great place but walk or park elsewhere.
The WOW factor missing from the filet. For $50 plus price tag - the steak should have been outstanding. My lobster tail was not fully cooked. So appreciated the complimentary dessert but the short cake smelt like the walk in cooler (or inside a frig). My wife was very pleased, and Maylee was great.
Always a to place when I'm in Austin. Michael was outstanding.
We arrived a bit early, but were seated immediately. The food and service was fantastic. 10/10 would recommend.
The entire evening was amazing. I told them it was our Anniversary and the table was covered with Rose petals❤️ The dessert had Happy 29th Anniversary written on the plate and was complimentary ❤️
The service was impeccable, I have only experienced service at this level once before. The appetizers and the sides were awesome but the real trouble began with the delivery of our steaks. The steaks were over-cooked with no complaints from us the waiter visually detected that they were over cooked and insisted upon replacing them. The arrival of the second steaks the problem developed even further these steaks were on the verge of rare, the original order was for steaks to be cooked medium. The first bite of the steak was intensely overwhelming from the amount of salt that was used in its preparation. Overall the hype of Ruth Chris was not met, it was without a doubt the worst steak I’ve ever eaten. We finished our meal and paid without any complaints. In closing the price of a meal at this establishment is in my opinion very much over priced, the following day we had lunch at a chain restaurant steakhouse and it was far more satisfying and far more bang for the buck. I would to make it very clear the price of the meal should not be the focus here I have absolutely no problem with the price if the food is worthy of it.
My wife and I chose Ruth's to celebrate her 60th birthday. We usually eat there on our anniversary but Debbie wanted to taste one of the restaurant's celebrated Filet Mignons.
Needless to saw our dinner and experience was "Top Drawer" (most excellent). The food was incredible! Our server, Beau was very knowledgeable about the menu, meat prep and what side dishes would be best with our choice of meat. I had a Ribeye and Debbie, or course, had the Filet Mignon (petite). Beau was outstanding in his service and conversation.
Once again Ruth's Chris Steakhouse went over the top in all categories.
I think that if you’re going to let small children in it should be before a set time like 5 pm. The table right behind us had an infant and a toddler that screamed multiple times during our dinner. If you’re going to let them in maybe put them in a spot where there aren’t any people by them not up front where it gets so busy so fast.
everything excellent except noice. we got their early, everything perfect. By the time we left you couldn't hear yourself think. not ya'lls fault, just the way it is . there was some screaming kids. to ask for adult only restaurant not fair. I understand, but you the one that asked. and your last question about noice………..energetic, ha...….. trying to be politically correct I guess.
Our waiter Joe was simply outstanding. The food however was just "OK" for the price point. Thin cuts of steak served on 500 degree plates cannot be blu. And the sides were unfortunately the opposite, under cooked.
Our waiter Clinton was excellent. And, the food as always was perfectly prepared.
Miguel was outstanding when delivering our food. Give him an atta boy!
My silverware was nasty, the salad was skimpy, old and looked as if it had been sitting waiting to be used. My order was wrong.
Shalee’s customer service was excellent. She was impeccable and appreciate her experience and the way she handled everything.
Not as nice as other Ruth Chris steakhouses we have been to.
The food was not as good as other Ruth Chris’s we have been too.
A very unfortunate (and actually gross) kitchen mishap happened with the food we had already been eating. The manager handled it okay (comped one steak).
This wasn’t the typical fine dining experience overall that you’d expect for Ruth’s Chris. The one in Dallas is much nicer with better service and attention to detail.
Would not return- Perry’s nearby is better service, ambiance & food.
The service was terrible, either they’re typical, young, inexperienced staff, or just bad-15 min fir drink order, 15 -20 to get them (wine?!) food took forever, had to flag to running crazy staff to get our bill 30 min after dessert- place is as loud as a school cafeteria-but the food was good. Not worth ever going back for.
Incredible food!!!! Quiet, great service! I would recommend to anyone, but it is expensive!
We had an amazing meal, the services was excellent.. the fillet Minton was tender and delicious.. love crime brûlée!
The Brussel sprouts were basically raw but the steak was great
Everything was exceptional. The valet, hostess and waitstaff were knowledgeable, polite and professional.
Great steak and calamari! The rest of the food was just ok and nothing special. Great service.
Never fails to impress! The food is always perfect, the staff is friendly, the steaks are always cooked to perfection! Michael was great as our server.
Bar service was not great.
Great experience, we didn't enjoy the food as much as I hoped but I think it was just a matter of taste. Next time we will order something simple.
The steaks, lobsters and sides were great as always. They’re why we came there. We arrived just before 6:30 and walked out at 7:45. I notified our waiter we were heading to the 8pm Esters Follies show and kinda needed to move quickly. We had one appetizer and I had a wedge salad. They came out quickly but my wedge had no bleu cheese dressing, just crumbles. Maybe that’s how they make theirs. After receiving our first drinks, my wife waited 30 minutes for another as did I for a Diet Coke. I was able to ask for the bill at the same time I asked for to go packaging. The check took 10 minutes to get picked up and returned and then to go food. We were a few minutes late on our show is all. For Ruth’s Chris, 1:15mins isn’t bad at all. I just felt service extended downtime’s made the night less memorable
Best steaks ever!
