Ruth's Chris Steak House - Annapolis Ratings and Reviews
Overall was a nice experience, but food and service could have been better. Usually, when dining at Ruth’s Chris, we’ve had absolute excellent food and service. We ordered the porterhouse for two and the steak was very marbled with tough fat and our fries were delivered to our table cold. Our server was very busy and would disappear for very long period of times.
Very disappointed. I’ve been to many Ruth’s chris and this was by far the worst. The food was ok. Oysters were dry, steaks were dry, sides were pretty good but nothing special. The service was slow and Non existent, always waiting for refills. We waited at least half an hour for the table to be cleared of finished plates. Simple things, I asked for ice cream on the side of my microwaves soggy apple pie and got it right on top, not allowing me to take it home like I planned. No big deal, but it tasted and looked like something from a buffet. Every time something cAme to be delivered to the table, it was delivered to the wrong person at the the table. They were not on their ‘A’ game whatsoever. It felt rushed and at the same time, service took forever. I am a capital grille fan, always will be after this. This was also not helpful that we were a table
Of 3 in a small room of 2 large parties of 10 or more. Nice room with a Fireplace but seemed like we were in a private space.
Not as upscale as we remember (though our last experience at a Ruth's Chris was nearly 10 years ago). It lacked the formality and well executed experience of previous meals (at other locations). There was a large table seated with 6-7 children (7-12apx)and two adults. They were very loud, though their parents tried (and largely failed) to maintain order- not the romantic atmosphere we were hoping for. Our steaks were cooked to request and were of the quality one would expect at a restaurant that centers their menu upon it. Sides were simple, unremarkable. The desserts, which claim to be house made, were gigantic and totally lacking character. Although the staff were very friendly, the restaurant on a whole seemed to be skating by, holding onto the well established reputation of the Ruth's Chris name.
My biggest complaint is that I requested a certain table that wasn’t available, which was fine. But I asked for the next best thing and they give me a table right next to the bar, which was extremely loud. I wish they would have gave me a table in the upstairs dining room.
Very disappointed in this Ruth’s Chris location. Other than good beef the meal was below par. Brussels sprouts lacked seasoning & under cooked. Crab fried rice strange. Mashed potatoes cold. Ginger carrot soup & beet salad excellent. Not a great meal given the prices. Much better steak houses in town; won’t go back.
Great meal: Ruth’s Classic with ribeye. Service was not the fastest. Waited a bit long for bread (barely lukewarm) and out of Daniel Cohn Cabernet Sauvignon, so waited longer for Hess. Ribeye and mashed potatoes we’re excellent! However, I did not much enjoy the apple pastry (dry/not flaky) and vanilla ice cream. Regardless, I enjoyed the meal and will continue to frequent this location.
We made reservations for a party of 6 for my daughter’s 16th birthday and husband’s birthday (they share their birthday on the 24th, so it is very special). Food was the highlight- no major complaints there - our waiter Simon was AWFUL. Slow, poor timing, clumsy. He brought a birthday dessert for the two of them that I was not consulted on (I would have preferred a choice - not his ) and was delivered to table while my husband was in restroom, ice cream melting under the candle and all, and just left at his space. The wondeful water boy came THREE times and refilled our glasses while we waited for Simon to return to take our actual dessert orders, which we never did due to the 20 minute wait for him. When you are paying almost $100 pp, I expect your constant attention. I’ve had better service at medium priced restaurants that have a or of heart. What was supposed to be a wonderful memorable evening, turned into an embarrassment.
Celebrating our anniversary and RC is walking distance from our Annapolis home. Nice evening. A Monday so nice and quiet. Too expensive for regular visits, especially with all of the competition in Annapolis. Other high end steak houses, like Chop House, offer excellent happy hour deals. Small plates and reduced cocktails and wine.
Our Server was outstanding he goes by Dan, Danny, or Daniel. Thank you Danny for making our evening special. The hostesses were average. Food was hot everyone got the classic option price range of $50 to $70 include starter, entree, side, dessert. Warm bread and butter was delious.
We sat outside the weather was perfect.
My experience was fair at best. The drinks were not good and the Crab Cakes were back finned or breaded. I was celebrating my 17th anniversary. I changed out the crab cakes for a steak and the manager did not inform me that there was going to be a up charged. The steak was also over cooked. Not a good experience.
I've been to Ruth Chris restaurants in Baltimore (I miss you Water Street), Pier, and the two in DC. It was a Saturday night and I was looking forward to a good meal. It really disappointed me overall. This place couldn't hold a cup of water to those restaurants. The bar wasn't crowded but the patrons were standing, talking loud, some came in drunk already, and eye balling your plate. I get have a good time and festive conversation but it's was a little much. The bad thing is the bar is located on first level in the very middle of dining room. It isn't really conducive for family with young kids either. I won't go back to this Ruth Chris ever again.
The food was great and the server was nice. The problem was with the kitchen. Took 2hours 45 minutes from start to finish. Waited over an hour between our salad and main entree.
The dinner reservation was at 7:15pm and they were not full. Poor kitchen management.
