It was wonderful. The food and service was perfect.
My family and I have eaten at Ruth's Chris numerous times throughout the country. We are new to the Maryland area and this was our first time eating at the Annapolis location. This was by far our worst dining experience ever. We were seated 35 minutes after our reservation time with hungry young kids, and the food arrived 2 hours after we were seated. A common theme throughout the night was our waitress was absent, we were constantly having to flag someone and ask to have our empty water, kids drinks, and cocktails refilled. My 7 year old daughter's steak (kids menu) had so much pepper it made her cry due to the strong spice. Since we couldnt find our waitress, a manager heard our complaints at the table apologized and had another dinner made for my daughter. The dinner for my wife and I arrived 20 min after kids dinner. My steak (11oz fillet) was overcooked (asked med rare and arrived well done). The asparagus was soggy and not edible for my wife and I, also did not come with hollandaise. While we received numerous apologies for my daughters dinner, my steak (frustrated so I did not send back), and the asparagus that we did not eat. In the end I received a bill for the full amount which truly just added insult to injury. I certainly hope my experience is a one off, but I will have a hard time returning to this establishment.
Simon is the best server there. Everything thing was perfect.
We had a wonderful time celebrating my dads 78th birthday. Service, food and all else was great. No complaints. I always enjoy the food and service when I visit this particular Ruth’s Chris location.
The food and service were exceptional.
Great overall experience
Awesome Valentines dinner
It was very congested. We were seated on the bottom level behind the bar. I wasn’t a fan of our table being as though I was there with my twelve year old daughter. I felt the location was not appropriate for a family with children (near the bar area).
I ordered a blackberry sidecar which was horrible by the way. I told my waiter it was way too strong and he informed one of the bartenders. Mind you I was seated within arms reach of the bar and saw their entire conversation. The bartender proceeded to pour sprite and sour mix inside my sidecar (I watched). The waiter brought my drink and I gave it a taste and it was horrible. I told him I saw what she did and it made the drink taste ever worse. Another bartender remade the drink, and this time I didn’t even taste any alcohol. At this point I just let it go. We waited a while for our food to arrive. Still no refills on waters and our waiter was very busy. He didn’t check on us much, I’m assuming because it was such a busy night. The food came and it was decent. We ordered the stuffed chicken, creamed spinach and lobster mac and cheese. All was delicious, but I was a little disappointed the lobster mac. The topping was extremely dry, while the bottom was creamy.
I’ve visited other locations, and I have to say, this is probably one of the worst ones.
Daughter breaking the record at the Naval Academy that day
Another wonderful evening at Ruth's Chris! Salads were delicious; steaks were perfectly done; crab cakes got mixed reviews (I greatly enjoyed mine but another member of our party did not). As always, the service was impeccable. We will return!
The service portion of the experience was way off this particular evening. Our waiter was probably busy with other larger tables on this busy Saturday evening.... but, we were very marginalized.
On the other hand, I have been used to Jenn at the bar for many years... and those experiences have probably spoiled me.
Enjoyed our meal!
Birthday celebration with 2 people. Appreciate the complimentary bread pudding dessert. The upstairs dining area (smaller room) where we were seated was not busy—3 other tables, but the noise level was still loud from the adjacent dining room, and poor acoustics with just our 4 tables. This was an earlier Friday dining time (6:15), so I can imagine the noise of a full dining room.
The broccoli & asparagus sides were good, but the sweet potato casserole was a little too sweet from added brown sugar..?
The ribeye & crab cakes were very good.
Our waiter, Leonard did a pretty good job, although he seemed a little nervous, and wasn’t very social.
We have visited this location about once a year, and would come back again.
This is the go-to restaurant if you want the perfect steak. The Bananas Foster was delicious. I'm never disappointed when I go to Ruth's Chris Steak House - Annapolis. What an awesome experience!!
Steak sent back three times- waiter not nice- calked manager- very liud
It has been a while since we went to a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. We will not return.
We brought our adult family (3 sons and their wives). Everyone loves steaks and was so excited about the seafood tower. The seafood was yummy but there were no tongs nor utensils to reach across the large table to take it from the 'tower-dish'. Even though we had a comfortable time between the appetizers and dinner service, we had to ask for our appetizer plates to be removed as the dinners were delivered.
The wait staff emphasized the restaurant's famous mantra "do not to touch the dinner" plates because they would be 500 degrees to keep the dinner warm and delicious. Of course, we all touched our plates. Most were not even warm, let alone hot, and certainly not scalding at 500 degrees. Only the maitre d' asked if we were enjoying our dinner. My husband's steak was impossible to eat due to the amount of grizzle; it was obvious how bad the steak was and it was replaced promptly. Even the waiter said the steak should never have left the kitchen. Everyone else was pleased but the quality nor taste reached our level of expectation.
The ladies room wait was ridiculous. Seriously! A good 20 minutes. And each of the four women in our party had to wait - none of us went 'together'.
The whole experience was very disappointing ... and very expensive. We anticipated a high check but the over $950 (included an auto tip) was shocking given the mediocre food and service.
Perfect date night!
My husband and I had dinner at Ruth’s Chris and it was excellent. Our Server Timothy was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The manager Mark came by the table and asked about how things were going. He was very pleasant.
Wife and I were enjoying a date night. Ordered a bottle of Riesling wine came out lukewarm. Wife ordered lobster tail and petite filet medium. The steak had to be sent back due to over cooked. They did deliver a second steak meeting original expectations.
We enjoyed a nice birthday celebration with great service from Valet parking to great food and service.
Simon was amazing. As usual. Meat was very overcooked disappointing for a $110 porterhouse for two. All in all still excellent. Love Ruth’s Chris!
Great experience. Look forward to doing it again.
Always a great experience. Love the food and service
The experience was OK, but not great which was a surprise for this is my favorite place due to the excellent service.
The waitress was rude and ignored our table to the point that empty plates were accumulating, leaving no room for new plates and drinks. To avoid confrontation I decided not to talk to the manager, but I expressed my concerns to another waiter, and he was happy to help by periodically checking on our table.
So disappointed in the totally unprofessional treatment. Unworthy of the Ruth Chris name. Will never go back again!
New Years reservation a month out and still was an hour behind. Overall amazing food however.
Waited over 45 minutes with a reservation not a good experience
Granted it was NYE, however it wasn't worth the money. Reservation was for 7:15pm and we didn't get seated until 7:50pm even though there were plenty of empty tables. Seemed like they couldn't bus them and reset. Menu was limited and was prix fixe. Four of us and all sides were cold, one filet was ordered medium and was raw (purple). Cheesecake dessert was warm! Server may have been new and was not very attentive. Have been there before, never really thrilled probably won't be back.
Always a great time here!
I usually enjoy Ruth Chris dining. New Year's Eve was the last time I will go. Food was not spectacular. You can find same or better in many restaurants around town. The waiter spoke extremely poor English and could not be understood. Two in my party had to use the elevator. They were ushered into a dark cluttered storage area tripping over a rolled up mat, and etc while waiting 10 minutes for the lift. Then we're forced to take the stairs afterwards. One person has leg braces and the other 81 years old and hadn't done steps in a year. I was upset seeing about the risk they were forced to accept in order to leave and seeing them struggle so much to go down the stairs. I was ready to call the fire department. What started out as s special evening with loved ones left me exasperated and paid a fortune for the experience.
We had an early New Years Eve dinner but the restaurant was already busy. We were seated promptly in a smaller upstairs room which created an intimate and quieter environment. Room and table were very nicely decorated. Menu was varied and had Vegetarian options. Cocktail and wine list was excellent. The food/ steaks were first rate and very enjoyable. The four of us shared four different side dishes which was ample. Our appetizers of Shrimp cocktail was superb with four large shrimp per order.
Cons: waitress verbalized she was very busy more than once ( which of course she was but dont use it as an excuse for not remembering stuff! ).
It was a very expensive meal - over $500. But then again it was NYE.
We will def. return albeit for special occasions.
Always a GREAT meal and great way to end 2019. Will bwe back very soon!!!!
lovely atmosphere and amazing food
outstanding experience in every way......one of the best meals i have had in the past year. had a wonderful private room for our party of 8. food, service, atmosphere were all top notch!!!
Very good martinis. Excellent appetizers. Salad was good. Steak was well prepared. Sides were average. Dessert not memorable. Service was pretty bad. Courses arrived on top of each other, not managed well. Meals included desserts but waitress brought only one which she said was “on the house” because of our special occasion. We ordered coffee with dessert which never arrived. Asked staff to have car brought be they returned the claim ticket to saying we needed to handle that with the valet ourselves. Much better choices in town.
Been here a few times. I think they were having off night.
Excellent dinner. Had to use elevator, which was a bit awkward due to chairs being stored in front of it so it called a lot of attention to handicapped individuals. Otherwise very pleasant experience.
