Wonderful and Delightful
Got salad dressing after eating half the salad, baked potato was cold and the streak not cooked to order had to send back twice. The restaurant was not that busy and the server was still slow. Oh and the bread pudding is more like a small cake ,not anything like the bread pudding I grew up on.
Frank is a great waiter. It’s always a pleasure to dine here.
Large table was seated next to us 14 people really loud
Kind of ruined the experience
Great Anthony and team are on it
I would not recommend this restaurant over ANY other steakhouse in San Antonio. Myron's blows this place away in both service and food quality, and isn't any pricier. Or you could save about half the cost and go to Chama Gaucha and get far better service, better food, better variety, and an overall more pleasant experience.
Steak - Underseasoned and bland. We had a variety of steaks at the table, including ribeyes, strips, and filets, and we couldn't taste anything but butter on any one of them.
Sides - Overpriced and subpar in quality. The au gratin was served nearly cold, and considerably undercooked. The mushrooms were the only thing I'd actually recommend that we had. The calamari was nicely fried, but then drenched in a sweet sauce that caused the breading to become soggy, ruining a dish that actually had some promise.
Drinks - Inconsistent and overpriced. I ordered two of the same drink, a Gambler's Old Fashioned, and the first one was nearly as dark as iced Coke, and the second was closer to a watered down sweet tea color.
Dessert - Don't get the creme brulee. It's just sweet. Nothing but sweetness comes through. We got no vanilla, none of the complex richness that a good brulee had. It was just sweet, with some fruit haphazardly placed on top and on the plate. Again, it seemed like there wasn't any real care taken with the dish.
Service - Our waiter completely forgot to fill one of our water glasses when he first took our drink orders, and always seemed to be in a hurry to move on to another table. We had to call him back to us to complete both our appetizer and drink orders, and he was of little help in recommending a wine for one of our party.
Overall, I can't express enough how bad of a value this place is. $470 for a party of four is acceptable if the quality matches the price. In this case it certainly did not.
Good no complaints.
Had the best onion soup and petite steak with crab meat atop. Steak melts in your mouth. John our server was so Johnny on the Spot. He was one of the best servers we have ever had the pleasure of having as a server. Creme Brule was fantastic. Highly recommend Ruth's Cris.
Romantic. Good food good service and remarkably affordable for a high priced place
Very good. A little warm in the room but otherwise fantastic
Brian, our server, was fabulous! We ordered drinks and an appetizer, then my wife decided to have the three course meal. It was too much food, but so delicious.
Always enjoy the great food and service for a family gathering on a special occasion.
Excellent food
My favorite location for a special occasion, hands down. Thanks to Bryan for a special night!
Took my teenage son for a late Valentines Day celebration. Had a very enjoyable evening where he actually talked to me! The food was delectable and the service was excellent.
Valentines
My lady and I dined in for an early Valentine's day dinner and had a wonderful time. We had crab stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and they were fantastic. We ordered two steaks for dinner and they were some of the best steaks I have ever had. Sides were excellent as well. The only negative thing I can say is the service was not at it's best. After the server opened our bottle of wine, he spilled some of the wine onto my water glass and the table and never offered a new glass. He did apologize and he was very cordial. But maybe since we are a young couple, he did not feel the need to treat us as the typical Ruth's Chris customer. Other than that his service deserved a 9/10. Nevertheless, my girlfriend and I had an amazing time and would suggest it to anyone. Thank you to the Ruth's Chris staff for a delightful Valentine's day dinner.
My wife and I were there to celebrate our anniversary, and while the food was very good as usual, we felt the service was a step slow. We were also seated next to a group of business men and the conversation was loud any very annoying. Probably will visit Ruth's Chris in the future, but not this particular location.
Good consistent food. Our waiter Sean was helpful and attentive. Steaks were cooked to our liking and sides were tasty. My only complaint would be the fact that the restaurant put us down as a no-show for our reservation. Hard to understand how this mistake was made given the fact that there were hardly any patrons at that time, so the hostess was not busy and our waiter greeted us by name. Obviously someone was expecting us.
GREAT FOOD, FRIENDLY STAFF. A LITTLE SLOW ON DRINKS SO FOOD ARRIVED RATHER QUICKLY AFTER THE DRINKS
We have dined at Ruth's Chris in other cities numerous times over the years and have always enjoyed it a great deal. Impeccable service-great food cooked to perfection-consistent high quality.
Unfortunately, what we experienced Saturday night was the exact opposite of what I described above. Indifferent service was the order of the night and food that was not prepared to Ruth's standards. To put it bluntly, the experience sucked! I would have looked for or asked for the manager but like our waiter, I doubt he was anywhere to be found.
It will be a while, if ever before we dine at a Ruth's Chris location again and NEVER at the San Antonio airport location.
This is a lovely restaurant with great ambiance. The food was excellent as was the service.
My only problem is that the prices are really, really high. But, as they say, you get what you
pay for. We go here for special occasions.
Food was great, although my steak was not cooked as I ordered. It was very loud where my party was seated & smelled of beer even though we weren’t in the bar area.
Started out great but got worse as the night progressed.
3 out of 4 steaks were over cooked. We sent back 1.
Food was great the steak was cooked perfectly to the specs. Service was great . We celebrated our fifty first anniversary and really enjoyed our quiet dinner. Thank You.
Brussel sprouts. We’re very good.
Brian was our server. It was top-notch service the whole time. He was attentive and super friendly. We had questions about the menu and he patiently answered them all.
The food was simply amazing and in was in huge portions. I feel like it was as good a steak as I have ever eaten. And all the food was piping hot and served on hot plates (500 degrees) so it stayed hot and sizzled at the table. All our food was prepared exquisitely and was just delicious.
It was pretty expensive, but we had a $100 gift card so it was about $80 out of pocket after that.
The pricing isn’t for everyone, but the food, service and ambience is as close to flawless as I’ve experienced.
The meal is always excellent and the service superb!
They don't know what makes a steak good. Ordered it rare and was told it might be a little over since they serve it on a hot plate. Made them change kit to a regular dinner plate so this wouldn't happened and it still did. All I tasted was pepper in my overpriced steak. Complained and got my meal for free though allowing me to go to sams club and buy a pack of ribeye, a family serving of sides, case of beer, and still have a little to buy some charcoal to bBBQ. This place seemed like it was intended to overcharge rich idiots who don't know the value money or simply thought the food gets better if you give it a dumb price.
Sat next to a large group with children and the children were not behaving and their parents weren’t mature enough to make them stop. The food was okay. The steak was cooked more than I liked and the baked potato was a little cool not hot.
We had 8 people and several of the orders were not right. 1 Steak was way over done. My father ordered his rib eye med. and I ordered mine med well, and those were switched, but we didn't realize it until half way through. On order of shrimp was forgotten and came later in the meal, and 2 out of 3 of the potatoes gratin we ordered were still hard and not cooked all the way. Not a single steak arrived on a sizzling plate as advertised, and our steak was not that hot. Not sure about the others. Over all the service was slow and it took forever. I was very embarrassed as I was the one who suggested we go to Ruth Chris.
The food was amazing and the restaurant looked great. The only change (which is minor) is the attentiveness of the staff. The assigned wait staff tends to be busy (which is understandable) but you have an alternate person assigned. They should be a bit more proactive in asking tables if anything is needed. This is just a minor tweak to training of new staff.
We were disappointed. The filet was not prepared as requested. Side dishes were bland and barely warm. Bread was good. Coffee was not hot. We have been there twice...first and last time
Service a bit slow, but otherwise a nice evening
I was a one table. The first waiter gave me a menu. I asked for the Culinary menu. He gave me the dinner menu. And looked at me as I was scum. It was at 2:15. He totally ignored me after that. I was waiting for another 15 minutes to just order. I asked my new attentive person, if I could order dinner. Heck, I am at lunch... I may want to order a steak? He obliged. He told me that the previous waiter gave me the incorrect menu. Are you kidding me?
I, then ordered from the new correct menu. He was awesome. I enjoyed my meal, but just wondered about this service. The first guy treated me like I was scum.
I am seriously going to cancel my reservation later tonight. How dare you treat a one table that bad at first.
Just so you know, I tipped my great server 50%.
Great food and service
Mark did an excellent job taking care of us. Pace was great, food was EXCELLENT, and atmosphere was perfect.
I was so disappointed with the service we received today. The food was great as always, but the timing was absolutely dreadful. We had to wait for our reservation, but were invited to wait at the bar. Trying to get a drink at the bar was a chore, and that should have been our warning as to how the rest of the evening would unfold. I don’t know if they were understaffed or what, but we easily waited 10 minutes or more for the restaurant week menus. We waited just as long for our wine. Overall, a disappointing evening. The food is great here, but let’s be honest...you’re paying for the service. When that’s lacking, you feel like a sucker who was overcharged.
My food was good however my wife ordered her steak medium. She was worried about it so I told her to let it sit on the hot plate for a bit before cutting it. Even still it was rare on the edges and cold in the center. When asked for it to be corrected, I’m assuming, they just put it in the broiler as the pieces she had cut were obviously well done and the rest tasted like burnt butter. Not a great experience for us
Our server Derrick was overwhelmed and was unavailable for long periods of time. He was sweating & in a rush every time he came to the table. The wait was so long even though we had a reservation, we were given a small complimentary appetizer to share between 6 of us. Susan the hostess was apologetic. Margarita was brought to us watered down waiting to get to us from the bar. Voodoo shrimp & steak was excellent. Mashed potatoes and apple crumb cheesecake disgusting!! I would not recommend going back!! It was my 1st & last visit. Maybe it was the location but not going to find out!!
