Ruth's Chris Steak House - San Antonio (Airport)
At Ruth's Chris, your steak is carefully selected from the finest USDA Prime beef available. It is aged to perfection and cut by hand at the restaurant. Then, your steak is broiled - to your exact order - at a searing 1800 degrees Fahrenheit to lock in the corn-fed flavor and natural juices. It's served hot and sizzling. In fact, you can actually hear your steak sizzling from across the room.
Private dining rooms available for groups of 10-100.
It was fantastic from the Bone in ribeyes you the lobster Mac the food was just amazing! The only steak I’ve ever had that’s been on par with the ones I make at home. Trust me I usually go with dry aged prime meat or waygo beef so I know what a good steak tastes like! The service was great to he was around just enough you know got our drinks and food order dropped things off and didn’t bother us to much after that. we told him everything was prefect and he listened. which I like in a waiter I don’t need them all up in my dinner trying to hear my conversations. just be there if I look your way otherwise just leave us be. Anyway great night out hope to go back soon!
I was underwhelmed by the filet.
We have been coming here for years for special occasions but I am not sure if we will continue. The food quality has gone down and is no longer the same as it was in years past. The service was great but the food was not.
We were most disappointed in the meals. Bottom line is that the proseco, martini, bread, and coffee were delicious. The meals we ordered were worse than average. We are sad that we will not likely return to what has in the past been one of our favorite celebratory restaurants.
Wonderful from start to finish!!! Jeanne, our server, was awesome!!!
It was our sons 25 th birthday!
The noise I like calmness
Hostess was not very friendly upon arriving and even more so when leaving. Did not get the usual thank you for coming or have a nice evening... Near the end of our meal, the manager I assume, came to tell my son that He could not wear His hat in the dining area. Which I can understand. But this should’ve been let known upon our arrival or even sooner before the nearly 2 hours that we had been sitting. The food was tasteful as usual so no complaints there but did not feel very welcome at a place where the bill is usually around $250-300. Downtown location is much more attentive...
Food was delicious, service is great and very informative on the menu, the scenery is more for dining. TVs at the bar only.
We had our high school son’s decision dinner for college there and had a great time.
Very nice dinner and great value. The wine choices were awesome! We had a great date night!
Our waiter Frank was so much fun!
Anniversary dinner. We always go to Ruth’s Chris Airport for our anniversary.
It was great!!
Took wife for Valentine's Dinner. Seated in back room but the ambience could've been more subtle and romantic. Steaks were great tasting but definitely over-priced. Also each side dish...garlic mash potatoes and creamy spinach were $10 each. We asked for a couple glasses of Decoy red blend which they just happened to be out of and they recommend a substitute red wine that was similar to Decoy; however, each glass cost $21/each or a bottle for $68. Of course buying wine at restaurants cost more but that's about a 300% mark up on a bottle of wine. Everyone talks about Ruth Chris so now I can say "been there, done that" and probably never go there again.
Very disappointed, took my girlfriend for a Valentine's Day lunch, her ribeye was undercooked, my filet didn't have much taste. The mushrooms and potatoes were good. I asked for fresh bread to eat with my meal, it came when we were almost done with our meal. When the server saw someone brought us some bread, since we asked someone else, he took it to another table.
A little disappointed. Lobster tails were excellent but have had better filet at Longhorn. Bread pudding with whiskey sauce had whiskey...but in a cream sauce and sauce was cold. Just not what I’m used to with this dish. May try another location some time but definitely not this one.
Frank is the man to see at Ruth's! True fine dining, recommended a fantastic bottle of Nickel and Nickel that we thoroughly enjoyed with our Valentine's porterhouse! We had never been to Ruth's but we both work in fine dining and I've got to tell you we were extremely impressed. If we didn't have Frank to guide us who knows how our experience would have played out! So grateful, and we WILL be back!
The steak was delicious nice ambiance.
We took my mother in law out for Valentine’s Dinner a day early to avoid the crowd that would have been there on the 14th. The service was slow, they forgot my mom’s soup and then even brought it out again with the dinner. The two tables that were seated after us were served their dinners 35 minutes before we were served ours. Yes, all 3 tables ordered appetizers. We all also had the same waitress. Her main concern that night was pushing some type of red wine she thought was such a great deal, we told her we didn’t want red but preferred a Zinfandel. Still didn’t deter her persistence on the wine. BY&M maybe she was making a commission on selling that one???
THE FOOD WAS BEYOND EXCELLENT AS USUAL. My husband and I both ordered filets that were cooked perfectly. And mom’s Surf and Turf was exceptional as well. Even though we arrived at the restaurant for our reservation at 5:30 pm we didn’t leave until after 8:30 pm because service was sooo slow. Additionally, a family sat beside us and very loudly played a word guessing game. Spelling everything out loud and cheering extremely inappropriately in an environment where many guests paid well over $300.00 for a beautiful meal. For my mother in law this was the first Valentines’s day since the passing of her husband of over 65 years and they always went to this place to celebrate for many years. My husband asked me not to say anything. I value families learning together. I’ve been in the education world for well over 25 years, but there is an appropriate time and place for learning. Extremely nice restaurants don’t fall into that category, especially when others are there and only want to enjoy a nice evening out. Our waitress and person assisting her checked in with a total of 4X plus delivering food and collecting payment. Sadly, we’ve celebrated family events here for years but will no longer do this because this experience was so awful!
My husband and I have celebrated special occasions at this Ruth's Chris location for 18 years. We decided this year to celebrate Valentine's Day early to avoid the crowds. Normally, the food is exceptional. Unfortunately, not tonight. One of our steaks was almost rare (when ordered medium well) and our sides were lukewarm. The service has historically been very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, not tonight. We had to ask twice for accompaniments to our steaks and for ice tea/water refills. Our server was distracted by a large table ordering/tasting wine and asking multiple questions about the menu. On the upside, the cocktails were fantastic. We will return, but will ensure we ask for our favorite server next time.
OK, I've had steaks from one end of this country to the other. I've had charbroiled, smoked, grilled, wood-fired, oven-finished, you name it. I've had Gordan Ramsey's steak. Nothing compares to the steak I had here. It was truly the best steak I have ever had. It came out a slight bit overcooked , more of a medium than medium rare like I ordered. Still the meat was so tender that the beef had a uniquely smooth texture. I didn't bother sending it back as the texture was fine, and the flavor was phenomenal! I'd steer away from the crab cakes, however, as I have had better tasting from the grocery store and they didn't cost 22 dollars. Trust me, they are OK, as in nothing wrong per se, however they are not worth 22 dollars. We had the baked potato which was really good and came out piping hot. The crème brulee was solidly wonderful and light tasting with the berries, and was a fine finish to one of the best meals I have ever had.
Excellent steaks, excellent service- great experience
The restaraunt week meal was a great experience. Salad, small filet, a side and chocolate sin cake were delicious, and a great bargain.
Always the best service, great food!
Great food and service as usual. Wished we were not sitting next to loud customers.
The food, service & drinks are outstanding! A great place for a meeting or get together with friends.
As always the steaks were great and the sides were good also. Service was acceptable but not what we are typically used to for a restaurant of Ruth Chris stature. We ate early on a Saturday night and it just appeared that the crew was waiting for the later evening rush to come. A couple things we asked for we had to ask again for. It just appeared the crews attention was not yet ready for full table service and we got the impression they wanted to clear the early diners out to make room for the the later anticipated crowd.
It's a shame when you go to a restaurant and the experience of going to a restaurant is disappointing. These scenarios happen depending on your waiter/waitress and time and day. Went for lunch during Restaurant week and were greeted and seated pretty quick as I made reservations. Waiter came by and greeted us to take our drink order and asked if we were here for restaurant week. I told him yes and he brought us the menus. Our waiter asked if we were in a rush, and I said "not really". Granted I did say we were not in a rush, but I didn't mean we wanted to stay in the restaurant for 2 hrs during lunch. That was the pace of our service. Our waiter seemed to forget about us after taking down our order. 20 minutes had passed and we never received our starter. A different waitress came by and asked if anyone was helping us...I think that's pretty bad when another server is noticing we were getting neglected. I saw another table with their soups as we were still waiting. Then another server comes out and brings out our main entree, still no soup. I told the other server to tell our server we never received our starter soup. She was very apologetic and said she could bring it out. I told her it wasn't her fault and not to worry about it. She brought it out anyways, but I didn't touch it as the main course was already out. Our main entree seemed like it had been sitting for a while before it was brought out to us. Our waiter finally came out apologized about the soup and would give us another dessert. It was all unnecessary, but the effort was appreciated. We also received a card for a complimentary appetizer on our next visit. Granted we went for the $15 restaurant week lunch, but the service should still be up to par. I really appreciated the other server keeping a watch out for my table, as she was really good and took in the effort to help out our waiter. Don't think I would be back, just because of the service that was displayed.
So close to the airport! Excellent food and service.
Incredibly outdated decor and design (weird for a Ruth Chris)- would not take a date nor clients there. Food and service were amazing!
Whoever our server was, he was excellent! Attention to detail, fast, accommodating and had a wonderful personality! The bar service was also on point! 5 stars!
Excellent service, food was great. Service was impeccable.
Not this location! We came for the holiday special as advertised on the website. We were told this restaurant does not always participate in "corporate specials." So we ordered menu items that were much more expensive. Steaks were overdone after sitting on the "500 degree plates." Asparagus was woody...fries over-done and over-salted. Loud atmosphere...especially from the jeans/t-shirts/baseball hatted group.
Not at all a typical Ruth's experience...no need to return to a Ruth's again.
Very courteous, great service, excellent food
We have been to this particular Rith Chris on holidays. However, on this occasion, the restaurant was a 'little off.' We were waiting for extended periods between courses. Also, plates were served reversed. Nonetheless, we will return but, not on a holiday.
Overall a pleasant dining experience...Sunny our waitress made sure everything was as ordered and took special care to ensure we enjoyed not only Christmas but my Birthday! We enjoy spending special occasion at this location and will definitely return, thanks Sunny!
Thank you for choosing us to host your Birthday Celebration! We are thrilled that you enjoyed your visit with us and hope to welcome you back in again soon!
Great, as usual.
Service was just ok. Steaks were not prepared as requested and no one asked or checked. Sides were not received and had to ask a passing by waiter. Received later. I love this restaurant and location however was disappointed as it was a Christmas present. Will go back as I hope this was a fluke.
