I know there is a premium to pay for the location and the view, but $45 for crab cakes is insane...especially since this is just food...not cuisine. It's perfectly fine, even reasonably good. But it isn't $45-$60 an entree good. Enjoy the view from somewhere else and go spend money at different restaurant. Baltimore has a thriving not-at-the-inner harbor food scene. This just is not worth it.
Very good service and excellent food! They were very accommodating and made us feel welcome.
The Rusty Scupper is my favorite restaurant in downtown Baltimore. I always ask to be taken there for my birthday and anniversary. We love the views, the service, the food, the parking convenience. We love Baltimore and this is one of our favorite spots in that city.
I have been wanting to take my boyfriend who loves Jazz and brunch. Finally went with his family for his birthday. Absolutely loved it. It's pricey but worth it, especially with mimosas and Bellinis. We walked around the harbor and people watched a bit. The seafood omlet was amazing, as was the salmon. I think the only way you could go wrong is if you are "someone who does not eat enough at buffets to make it worth it" like someone in our group pointed out.
Went for my 25th wedding anniversary at my wife’s request. She used to go with her parents to one of their old locations in NJ. Excellent choice. The staff Made us feel like we were the most important people in the place. Food was very good. Will definitely make the trip back.
We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. The we met our server. He was new, or perhaps inexperienced. He was not ready to serve guests in a place like this. He forgot so many things and was rather clumsy. The food was good, but not spectacular. Come for the view, enjoy some appetizers and a few drinks.
It was one of the best restaurants that I have been to.
A Baltimore perennial favorite in an excellent waterfront location and convenient parking. Service was great, and it was caring. Quality of the dishes was excellent. If ordering dessert, be aware that they serve large portions. Mixed drink cocktails were great, wine selection was very good. Highly recommended for a variety of occasions: night out, romantic, birthday, anniversary, family, and so on.
We got married at the Rusty Scupper a year ago and went back for our anniversary. They kindly gave us a champagne toast. My husband didn't love the surf and turf tartare, but we both got a scallop special with crabmeat and spinach tthat was to die for. Always a nice blend of fancy and comfortable. Recommend for a nice date or special occasion.
Damon our server was great. His suggestions for things to try were a treat. Awsome sea bass, good cocktails and timely service. We would and will do it again.
Great atmosphere and good food. Was a little noisy. Great date night facility
Great service, food was great.
Not a bad place. We got there and we're seated promptly in the bar. They had a wonderful happy hour from 4 to 7. Inexpensive drinks and inexpensive appetizers. We had the coconut shrimp, calamari, crab dip. Although the crab dip bread was a little crusty all three were enjoyable. We did order some crab cakes and due to the busyness of the restaurant the bartender who was our waiter had forgotten to put the order in. No worries Tim promptly gave us our order when we inquired. All in all I would say it was a very good experience
Wonderful as always! I've been a customer for many years and have never been disappointed in the food or service!
Wonderful variety of delicious food with an amazing view of the Inner Harbor. Went here for my mom's birthday and she absolutely loved it.
I brought my husband & 3 daughters here for the first time this past Sunday. I've been here before but I wanted them to experience how Awesome Rusty Scupper is. They LOVED it!!! We would come every Sunday if we could afford it but since the bill was over $200, we'll have to settle for once every quarter. My husband said he & I will have to come for a brunch date, but our daughters will not like that at all! Lol. They went to school Monday & Raved about their "Amazing" brunch at Rusty Scupper!! The shrimp & grits, lobster mac & cheese & the pecan crusted salmon were our favorites! Everything was GREAT!! Thanks Rusty Scupper!!
Best brunch in Baltimore. Food is too notch!!!Brought a friend from Australia to give him the best view and taste of Baltimore! Loved it and will be back!
Minor suggestion....Suggest lower price for teens who come and eat one waffle for 50 bucks....
The charred salmon was not the good as I expected for it to be a five star restaurant nor was the swordfish. The taste was bland not very flavorful. I don't even remember the rest of the meal besides the desert platter. The scenery and ambience was the only good thing about the restaurant. I would not suggest this restaurant for the price.
The view was spectacular and the food was very well prepared. We Had the crab dips, calamari, and the swordfish steak with crab stuffed shrimp added on.
We’ve dined at many seafood places. Rusty has a mediocre quality of food and very overpriced for what it offers. Service was also terrible. We have to stand up from our table to get attention in order to our check. We understand that our waiter was assigned at another large party at another dining area across us; however, there were a few wait staffs standing around doing nothing and the manager was not doing anything about it. The place wasn’t even at peak dinner time. The manager got our attention to process our check. Didn’t apologize. Also took to validate our parking garage ticket and by the way, on our way out, it wasn’t validated, it was only discounted, and that wasn’t explained to us. It wasn’t a good experience overall. We won’t return.
Great crab cakes and scallops!
Went for my anniversary, food was very good. Is a more pricey place, but the food was worth it. The cream of crab soup and the crab cakes are always good. Waitress was awesome and the atmosphere was nice and quiet (though it was 8pm on a Sunday). The waterfront view is beautiful during the day and night (I’ve been there a couple times). Hope this is helpful to anyone!
Excellent food and service. Worth every penny. Incredible crab cakes and highly recommend the cream of crab.
The Rusty Scupper never fails to please. From the gracious welcome upon arrival, to the variety of choices on the menu and the wine list, to the superb service, to the overall ambiance and the spectacular view of the city, it is a delight for the senses. I have been there many times on a variety of occasions and have never failed to enjoy the experience. The only reservation (pun intended) I may have is with a sometimes overly eager wait staff. Fine dining is, for me, an intimate experience and "helicopter" waiters, those who hover, can be a mild annoyance.
Everything was excellent. Amanda our server was excellent and very attentive. Food was very tasty and of good quality.
Excellent is an understatement to say the least. This is an amazing outing for two, a group or just solo.
The Blackened Swordfish was excellent!
Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was awesome! Definitely would recommend it :)
The bar was terrible. Sent back a martini and a vodka tonic. Who can’t make those? The view is spectacular but The restaurant decor is dated. The waiter did not have recommendations from the menu.
Great selection of seafood. Outstanding service!
The ambiance made the place. Everything else was just okay. I truly felt it wasn’t anything special and that it was over priced.
We were passing through from DC to Pennsylvania and decided to stop. It was delicious and I'm already planning my next trip down with family!
Couldn't have asked for anything better. First date, next to a window seat. Very romantic. The food was phenomenal. The wine list was great. Outstanding service. A great Saturday night.
Great atmosphere; delicious food@
Been there a few times now, meal worth the trip, try to get a different item every time. Prices are a bit on the high side, meal for two, drinks and the rest easy 100 to 125. Be careful if you park in the lot near the restaurant expect to pay 10.00. My opinion if you eat there should be free, try parking on street and walk, need too anyway after s great meal
The food was horrible. I had to ask for everything from a straw to a spoon to butter for bread. The chicken was so discusting it made me ill to look at it. The manager came over and agreed this food should not have been served. Meal was free but still a terrible dining experience.
Rusty Scupper: big "corporate" impersonal noisy SHOWY restaurant with mediocre food and a very high price. If this appeals to you, go for it; otherwise, there are a lot better places.
The seafood was underwhelming for a restaurant in a location such as Baltimore. A little over priced compared to restaurants like Joe's Stone Crab and many restaurants in D.C. We were visiting for an event in Baltimore and read rave reviews of Rusty Scupper - definitely would not return based on flavor, quality and price.
Amazing view! And the best service, wow! We loved it
