Rusty Scupper - Baltimore
Staff was friendly, view was awesome and food was great.
The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. What a beautiful dining room, overlooking the water with the lights of the city sparkling all around. Our waiter gave us plenty of time to talk, relax, eat, and enjoy the evening. Crab cakes, rockfish, salads—perfectly prepared. Well worth the expense.
This is the second time recently we have gone to the Rusty Scupper. The first time rocked our dining experience. This time, although the food tasted great, nothing was hot. It appears to of been sitting for while. The waiter did not come back to check on us and we ate it anyway. Normally, I would of returned the food to be heated. The view we had from our seats was awesome. We will return, but I only ask that the kitchen staff make sure the food is sent while hot.
The food and drinks were phenomenal! Everything was so fresh and full of flavor. We had a beautiful view of the water and city. I will be coming back.
We appreciate this wonderful review and hope to see you again soon!
Service was very good, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the portion sizes were great.
Thanks for the awesome review! We work hard to meet expectations like yours, and we’re happy to hear we hit the mark for you.
The Chilean Sea Bass was to die for, and Hailey could very well have been the best waitress I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting!
Thanks for leaving us such a wonderful review. We are thrilled that you loved your experience; our staff will definitely be happy to read what you wrote!
Our service personnel was great. But, our soup was bland. The beer battered fish did not have any taste to them. And they gave me the wrong dessert! The bill price was not worth it, but we still tipped great.
What a fabulous evening at such a beautiful restaurant! The panoramic view of Inner Harbor was amazing! Our server, Jennifer, was excellent. The food showcased for Restaurant Week was outstanding! Thank you for a beautiful memory, Rusty Scupper!
We are so grateful for your kind words. Thanks for sharing your review with us!
WE WERE CELEBRATING MY SISTERS BIRTHDAY OUR WAITER STEVEN WAS GREAT IF WE COULD OFFER ONE SUGGESTION IT WOULD BE TO HAVE 3 OMELLETTE STATIONS OPENED THE LINES WERE VERY LONG RVEN THOUGH THE CHEF WERE FRIENDLY AND MOVED AT A VERY GOOD PACE
We are so grateful for your kind suggestion and wonderful review. We are glad to hear you had a great time!
Servers were no where in sight to assist
The first rime i went was amazing. This time the food was very cold. Service was ok not as good as first time. I wish it was better.
It was great
Thank you for the nice review!
We went to Rusty Scupper to celebrate my wife's birthday. The food is very delicious. The server was very responsive, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and the food itself, giving spot-on recommendations. It's located right on the water providing an beautiful view of the harbor. It's really a classy restaurant.
Thanks for the awesome review! We work hard to meet expectations like yours, and we’re happy to hear we did just that!
The food was exceptional. Our table was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Our waiter was excellent

We went for restaurant week. So worth it during that time. I would go back because we had such a great experience. The food was amazing the service great and the view even better.
Colleen, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this amazing review!
Great food and a beautiful view of the inner harbor.
Liz, We are so grateful for your review and hope to see you again soon!
Even on a bleak Sunday in January, the view of the inner harbor is irresistibly stunning. My husband I decided that it would be a great place to have my birthday brunch since we had matinee tickets for the BSO. It was easy to get to and even easier to park. Our service team welcomed us and brought us drinks while we took selfies and enjoyed the view. Then it was time to eat.
The oyster bar, is like no other. Fresh, beautiful oysters of all sizes, being shucked fresh. Large lemons and all accompaniments were easily accessible. From there, I went to the shrimp bar and piled them on to my plate. I also had smoked salmon with onions, capers and egg. Yum! I was in Keto heaven!
I went back for Caesar salad and tomato/mozzarella salad which were divine. I also had some BBQ ribs but there was still room on my plate. So I headed to the carving station for a slice of prime rib and smoked ham. But that was the end of me; I could not eat anything else. My husband went back to the omelette bar and then he charged the dessert stand. He told me that the bread pudding was to die for and brought me a taste of lemon cream brulee. (Not only do I eat keto, but I also have to be gluten free.) But no worries - this brunch delivers! Sure, it's pricey at $46 per person. But that price also includes unlimited Champagne, Mimosas, Bellinis, and Hot Rum Cider. And great live jazz. We are thinking we'll go back for Father's Day. It was that good.
It was New Year’s Day, lunch, so a “special occasion.” Restaurant was not very busy — more available tables than we expected. Our table had a nice view of the inner harbor. The food was fine (with one exception that had nothing to do with the kitchen). Our waiter was undoubtedly just trying to be helpful, (i.e., fishing for a big tip), but overdid it by repeatedly displaying his inexperience, ignorance, and inappropriate self-confidence (“oh no, that is not a rose wine because it’s a malbec and malbec is a red wine”) — duh (for those who don’t see the problem — ALL ROSE WINES ARE MADE FROM RED WINE GRAPES; they just have very short times after crushing before the skins are removed, so as to avoid the color, tannins & flavors contributed by skin contact). A little while later, he came back to inform me that I was actually right! Duh. I won’t even mention how he actively (and proudly!) interfered with the chef’s preparation of my main course. Frankly, I doubt if he’ll still be working there by the time you read this — it’s one thing for a waiter to ignorantly second-guess a diner, and quite another to do that to a chef. I doubt if a chef would put up with that. And no, I’m not a “prima donna” diner — I did not complain to any higher authority, so I have no idea how the manager learned of it (perhaps the chef complained?), and I strenuously declined the manager’s gracious offer of replacing (and removing the charge for) the dish.
It was an unusual experience, and I’m sure it was an atypical one. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant, for the quality of the food, the fair pricing, and the lovely view.
Food was ok. Remember it being better. The cream of crab soup was peppery. I might have to look for another seafood place.
New Year's Eve menu restricted but all were great choices. Regular menu is extensive. They can provide transportation to and from via 8 passenger van but area of service may be restricted. Great wine list.
My moms birthday
Food was great; server was excellent and appropriately attentive. We have eaten here before and always enjoyed the food and the service. Great ambiance and wonderful view. Would recommend to anyone interested in good quality and a great variety of choices combined with a lovely place to eat.
Thank you for your kind words.
The atmosphere was lovely. The view is beautiful particularly at night. The food was exceptional and the service was friendly. The staff is very knowledgeable regarding the menu.
We truly enjoyed our dinner. There were a few issues... Two of our dinners did not show up complete. One was missing the crab and the other had the wrong sauce on it. Overall, the dinner was delicious. Just some quality controls in the kitchen are needed.
Rusty Scupper has always been one of my fave brunch spots. But the food was terrible this time and the service was even worse. When I first arrived, I asked my waitress for a glass of champagne. After 10 minutes I still didn’t have it nor could I see her to get her attention. I finally had to ask another waitstaff and they brought it right over. She arrived a few minutes later and still didn’t have the champagne. There were multiple times during my visit where she was literally standing around talking to other waitstaff. So it’s not as though she was busy waiting on other tables. She was nice but she needs to work on being more attentive and checking on her tables more frequently. Lastly, the food lacked flavor. I normally go up 2-3 times but was so disappointed in the food that I only went up once. The unlimited mimosas/champagne was the only thing that made the cost worth it; otherwise it would have been a waste of money. Will likely not go back.
Had an Ugly Sweater Brunch with my besties and we had a really good time. The food was awesome as well as the service. My friends and I truly enjoyed ourselves.
Rusty Scupper is our (my husband and I) favorite place to have brunch. The value for your money is outstanding and you have a fantastic variety of dishes from which to select. I like the fact that you have a craving station, omelets made to order and a waffles station. We have brunch at Rusty Scupper at least 4-5 times a year. We always have brunch at Rusty Scupper the Sunday before Christmas when there are added food dishes and special desserts like Christmas cookies. Their bread pudding with rum sauce is the very best. I am a seafood lover and I like the raw and steamed seafood always available. You have an excellent view while eating excellent food.
Food was quick to arrive and was excellent.
Wonderful view of Baltimore Harbor and its skyline.
Am eager to try them for lunch.
On December 20th we went to the Rusty Scupper to celebrate Christmas before traveling. We let the manger know when we entered the restaurant why were there. The sever came to our table very soon after we sat down. She was pleasant and we thought it was the start to a wonderful dining experience but that is where everything took a turn. We ordered a bottle of white wine, giving the server the number in the menu and the name of the bottle. She returned with a totally different bottle of wine. We caught the mistake before she started to serve us. She went back to the kitchen to retrieve the bottle we ordered claiming that they had changed the numbers in the refrigerator. When she served the taste, the wine was cool but not cold. We asked if she could bring something to chill the wine. She brought back a wine chiller which would have kept the wine cold if it was cold to start with. We requested ice to chill the wine. She brought back a small amount to put at the bottom of the chiller but not enough to really bring the wine to the correct temperature.
We placed our meal order at the same time we placed our wine order to save her an additional trip to our table. We hadn’t been in the restaurant 15 minutes, our bread hadn’t even arrived, and someone came out from the kitchen with our meals. We were planning on a relaxing dinner and that is not what we experienced. We felt rushed and on top of it our meals were warm but not hot. You can only take so long to eat a meal. We tried to extend it as long as possible but were out of the restaurant in one hour. It wasn’t like the restaurant was full and they wanted to turn over the table. (They did give us a free desert).
One of the managers came to our table when we were finished and asked about our meal. We shared with him our experience. As we were leaving he came up to us and asked for our phone number. He said he would call the next day. Almost 2 weeks have passed and still no call.
Hello Faith. Happy New Year. Thank you for your reminder and sorry for the delay. I just left you a quick voice message and look forward to speaking in the near future. I hope to connect soon.
I would recommend to friends only depending upon what they were looking for in a restaurant. I went there for lunch the other day, which was the first time I’d been there in about ten years. It was just okay, but I remembered it being good.
Four for dinner on Sun evening. Grilled Rockfish superb and a very generous portion. Martini could be better.
Good view and nice food!
Try to reserve a seat by the window.
Out server was nice but not very attentive. We couldn’t take advantage of bottomless mimosas because our server was never around. He also didn’t warn about last call for food. We went to get oysters and they had already broke down the bar. Since we were sitting behind the omelette station we weren’t aware of what was happening with the food. Otherwise we enjoyed what we ate and drank and had a nice experience.
I have not been to the Rusty Scupper in quite a few years so it was nice to compare. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday. They sat us a table by the window overlooking the marina and the city. It is a noisy restaurant because of all the wood and windows (and there was a party on the upper level). The food was delicious as usual. The cream of crab soup is one of my favorites. The carpaccio was too thick (for me), but the calamari was perfect. I had the stuffed shrimp (perfection) and he opted for the blackened swordfish (also perfectly prepared). We finished with the creme brulee (very tasty). Our server was efficient.
The food was better than we could have hoped. We had scallops and blackened sea bass. They were perfectly done and served with totally out of this world vegetables of the season. Very happy we went there!
I was disappointed in the quality of the food. Everyone in my party said their meal was just okay. In my opinion, the Rusty Scupper is overrated. I will not return.
Thanks for making our get together special. Nice attention to detail.
This was a first time visit and it did not disappoint! The rock fish, crab stuffed lobster, and crab cake appetizer were amazing!!!! My only regret was that I was not able to get there early enough for the brunch! I will definitely return to try that as well!!!
Great place and the food is delicious and very friendly staff.
