Rustico - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
I thought the atmosphere was great, food exceptional, but the service awful. It took 10 minutes for anyone to ask us if we wanted to order anything and that was only after I flagged down a waiter. It took about 45 minutes to get our food. The other staff was attentive and smooth (i.e. Clearing and setting up table and delivering food). If you want good food but subpar service this is your spot.
I chose this restaurant because I heard it had a gluten-free menu. While it doesn't serve GF pasta, there are several other dishes on the menu that either are GF or can be made that way. Our friendly and attentive waiter understood celiac disease and made suggestions as to which dishes I could enjoy safely. I chose grilled fish with a side of asparagus and spinach. Delicious! I will definitely return to this lovely little restaurant!
We wouldn't have known about Rustico if we hadn't searched Open Table for restaurants open on Christmas Day.
The place is small and casual, nothing fancy, but the proprietor was very efficient and welcoming without being overly solicitous. Because of the mild weather, the doors out onto the avenue were open, giving a European sidewalk café ambience. There wasn't much traffic on the avenue so noise wasn't a problem.
Food was excellent. Definitely recommend.
Attentive service, nice selection of wines by the glass (and happy hour is 50% off all of them!). The waiter took his time describing each and every wine for us with a passion of a true connoisseur and wine lover!
Very warm, welcoming and relaxed vibe
Definitely a little jem of the East Village restaurant scene!
Good place for breakfast. Food was delivered to our table within 10 min!!! They serve very good and strong coffee (you get one for free as a part of brunch special).
Super friendly staff.
The place is very bright, with big windows allowing you to enjoy the view of locals rushing at work. It definitely has its own character and some special energy to get your day started.
Nice place, located in the heart if EastVillage. Very friendly and funny waiter Amine.. He made our evening:)
The place was pretty packed in the evening, however, the food was fast. Prices are very affordable. And we also got a free cheese platter with our bottle of wine.
Overall we had a very pleasant experience. Good place to start your night.
