Rustico Restaurant & Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Two of us at an off time...2:00 pm...so we were all alone .....our waitress was wonderful...very attentive without being overbearing ...she ran out after us when she discovered I had left my iPad on the table.
We each had a delectable crab bisque....flavorful and smooth with just the right consistency. She informed us that it is always made to order. We shared a sandwich of fresh ingredients...ie crispy dark green lettuce......
We look forward to returning with more friends...
Rustico never fails to deliver a wonderful meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The service was excellent. The food arrived promptly but we did not feel rushed. This is our "go to" restaurant when we want a really good meal and when we pick to restaurant to go to with friends. Whatever they are doing ....I hope they keep doing it!
Food was great! We had 4 appetizers, 4 entrees and 2 desserts. Plus wine and beer. All delicious and fairly priced. Waitress was efficient but cold. Noise level was extremely high. All of us at the table had a difficult time hearing and conversation was almost impossible. This was mainly due to an extremely loud table next to ours. Unfortunate! I was disspointed because it was my birthday which I had noted on my open table reservation. I also told the hostess when we arrived that it was my birthday and we were celebrating at rustico. The hostess said ' oh'. That was it! I will return to rustico but not for a birthday or special occasion.
If not for open table we never would have known about/found Rustico - and we are glad we did. My wife and I went for our Anniversary dinner, and had a great time the restaurant is nice - our server Rachel was friendly knowledgeable and attentive without being hovering. But most of call the food was amazing - 11 years earlier we were on our honey moon in Italy, and we felt like we were back there - enjoyed every bit of everything we ordered!
Love this restaurant. It is fantastic Italian food, in a seafood dominated area (the eastern shore). I would have given a five star rating but our food took a long time to come out, and when it did, it was not very hot. The Eggplant Rollatini was dry. Otherwise, the food was delicious. Have eaten there several times and it's always delicious. I hope this was just an off night for them.
We go here often. Twice in the last two weeks...4 times in the last 6 weeks. Very good food but service has become average to poor. Two weeks ago we got our entrees delivered at the same time as the salads. We think salads sat for a while. Waitress apologized and comped us for the salads which was nice. We gave our normal good tip and came back a week later with friends who have never been there. After getting our cocktails and AFTER a few sips we found a fly in one of the drinks. YUCK. Not a good start. Waitress simply said, oh you have a fly in your drink I'll get you another which she did. No apologies like it happens all the time?
We have noticed new waitstaff faces everytime we go. Seems like lots of turnover.
So it will be awhile before we go back and we will no longer recommend the place.
For the price, because they are on the high end, we'll go elsewhere.
This was my first time returning to Rustico this year (due to the distance from home... but well worth the drive!) Our server, Jenny, was attentive and very pleasant. Food was excellent - you'd be hard pressed to find a better Italian restaurant anywhere! I am planning to make the drive to Stevensville more often, to enjoy this neighborhood gem!
Rustico never disappoints. This time I had the pasta with sausage, spinach, and goat cheese in white wine sauce. My guest had the lamb chops with potatoes and asparagus which was also delicious. The warm bread with oil/spices was superb. The service is very nice and our waitstaff person had good wine recommendations. Some desserts are from a local bakery, Peace of Cake. We had a raspberry cheesecake, which was divine.
The best thing was the grilled Caesar with salmon added. Delicious! I don't recommend the Caprese salad at all--could have been elevated by using good tomatoes, not the anemic, too-firm supermarket variety.
Mussels good, but not outstanding.
Beautiful, charming atmosphere. Friendly service.
We were traveling with extended family so there were 8 of us , three 12 and under. The restaurant was set up for us when we arrived. The waitress was friendly and accommodating . The food excellent! Ambiance calm and pleasant. Couldn't have asked for a better experience after a day of travel.
We have been there before, but this time it was perfect. We sat outside (ask if the single table on the side is open) and it was half price wine bottle night (Monday). We had the specials - my husband had a Caprese salad with burrata and the soft shell crab. I had grilled Caesar salad and a short rib stuffed ravioli. Absolutely delicious! Our hostess and server were lovely. Highly recommend.
Our first trip here was for our 20th anniversary. The food was fantastic, our waitress was local and knew my wife... service was excellent.... at the end of our meal, she recommended we head outside and take in their live performer, who was very good. Have already recommended Rustico tho several people.
This is the third time I have been to Rustico and I have enjoyed the food and atmosphere every time. My mother is very picky about where and what she eats and she requested this restaurant for Mother's Day. That says a lot for this restaurant. My brother and sister-in law joined us for dinner. It was their first time there and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The spices in the dipping oil and the bread are sooo good.
We enjoyed a meal at Rustico as a couple on a recent weekday. We liked it so much, we made reservations for Mother's Day. On each occasion the food was great and the service was excellent. Obviously, they were very busy on Mother's Day, but they were well staffed to cope with the crowd. Everything was just as good as it was on the "quiet" evening. Well worth the drive to the Eastern Shore.
The last time we went to this restaurant we got seated over an hour AFTER our reservation time. The place was packed! Even after being seated service was slow. However the food was excellent. We were not going to try it again, but they sent me a certificate for a free entree for my birthday....,
Completely opposite experience this time. We were seated immediately and the dining room was less than 1/2 full. So service was better but food was worse. We got calamari as an appetizer. While it was tender, it should have been fried a tad more. The "pesto mayonnaise" needed more pesto. My husband got the salmon. It was cooked perfectly, but the sauce was tasteless. I got the crab ravioli special. Very little crab it in and, again, tasteless. For the price of the food, it was very unimpressive.
