There’s also no mistaking Rustico’s love for barley & hops! The bar’s focal point is a custom galvanized inverted T bar with 30 brilliant taps book-ended by two massive coolers holding more than 400 different types of ales, lagers, ciders and stouts.

Rustico Ratings and Reviews
Pretty good food, BAD SLOW SERVICE.
The food here is pretty good. I have been here several times over the years. Pizzas are good, truffle fries good. My complaint is the service. The service is bad every single time I have been here this past year. Last night we we had dinner and we sat at our table for at least twenty minutes before anyone came over to greet us and take a drink order. This also happened when we went here for dinner the time before in November. We also noticed that the table sitting next to us struggled to get the attention of their server. Seems to be a theme in this place.
Entrees (pizza and burger) were just fine--really good pizza (gluten-free option sounded interesting, but we didn't need it), chef nailed medium rare on the burger--but sides left a lot to be desired. Grilled Caesar had interesting (in a good way) flavor, but it's no longer a salad, just another cooked vegetable. Truffle fries tasted fine, but were seriously overcooked to near-tooth-breaking crunch.
Service: aggressively friendly, maybe a little overloaded and hassled, but when I ask how big the burger is (to decide between medium and medium rare), I expect something better than "oh, medium large." I'll give a pass on bringing back an open bottle of the AF beer when the errand was to find out what they had. Know the ounces; that's what I'm asking for. And no response when I assured that I didn't want change.
To Open Table: I got an email with 100 points; my account says zero. ???
Excellent brunch and great service. We were very pleasantly surprised by Rustico’s ability to accommodate my family of 11, including 5 kids under seven. We had plenty of space and never felt like we were in someone’s way or being too loud. The brunch menu and restaurant week specials were fantastic. Our server was nice, efficient, and generally on top of his game.
Having been to Rustico only once before and quite some time ago, I was not sure what to expect when my wife and another couple had dinner there over the weekend. We were pleasantly surprised by a very good meal and excellent and friendly service, all at a reasonable price. It was quiet enough to carry on a normal conversation, the surroundings were tasteful and the food (two different pizzas and some sides) were all excellent. I would definitely go back.
Window booth seating. Quick service, accommodating hostess, attentive server. Shared Brussels sprouts (yum) and we each had a Rustico burger. Delicious! Beverages were a beer and a glass of wine, both reasonably priced. Even on a busy Saturday night, we were able to get in and out in an hour, happily fed, fully satisfied.
Our first time at Rustico and we were impressed. The service was great and the food was excellent. The parmigiana fries were a great appetizer and the white pesto pizza was quite tasty; really good crust. We came for lunch this time on a cool and windy day, so the restaurant wasn’t too busy which was nice; peaceful and easy conversation. We will certainly try dinner her sometime. If you need a quick bite of quality cuisine, give Rustico a try!
They have the most amazing rissoto tots and pecan rolls. Their salads are good and the beer selection is amazing. The main dishes leave something to be desired. This used to be a fantastic place to eat, but the quality of the food has gone down and the wait staff is horrid! The hostess needs some customer service training.
Went back for a casual dinner. Despite wide open seating, hostess was intent on seating us at undesireable table - by cold windows; hidden behind mountain of highchairs. We are beer affectionafos, but offerings at Rustico tend more quirky than interesting. Brussel Sprout starter was quite good, but $11 for Brussel sprouts?? Burger was good, also, but table and otherwise limited menu overshadowed the food. Will cross off Alexandria dining list.
Loved introducing Rustico to my colleagues. I travel to the Alexandria area for business and always try to include Rustico in the plan. I have loved everything I have ordered. The grilled Caesar is always a favorite. The pizzas are delicious. I went with the mushroom burger this time. Yum! My team had mussels, pork sliders, pizzas and everyone was thrilled. Thanks for a great experience.
Made a Friday evening reservation on Open Table for 7pm. Got a call from the restaurant at 6:20 that they did not know why Open Table allowed my reservation, and they had no tables at 7pm. After some discussion, it was determined that they could "make it work" for me at 7:30. My group of 3 arrived at 6:15 and were seated immediately as there were several tables free -- so I have no clue why they said they could not accommodate us at 7pm!! We have eaten here many times, but we have not been in the last couple of years. The food has gone downhill. We were all disappointed with our choices -- basket, chicken, and burger. Throughout our dinner, servers tried to remove our plates before we had finished. Once finished, however, it was difficult to find anyone who wanted to take our plates away -- and no one offered us coffee to dessert options -- they just put the check on the table!!! Too many good choices in Alexandria to go back to Rustico again.
Delicious! This was our second time here. We came for brunch today and it was awesome. I had the eggs Benedict which came with a side salad as well as the potato pancakes. It was ALL so good.
My husband had the risotto tots which are always amazing. He also had the biscuit and gravy which was also good.
Everything here is fresh and made from scratch. The service was good.
We sat on the patio because it was beautiful out. I loved that they had picnic tables. This is sure to be a go to
spot for brunch.
The good food and vast beer selection is now no longer worth the mismanagement and bad staff. We've tried: it's nearby, it strikes the right menu balance for our family, and on point for price. But the service is terrible. Always. Every time. Preventable mistakes that spoil the evening.
Tonight, at the outset "we're under staffed so we appreciate your patience," said to a 1/4 full room. They were out of a major menu item, announced after the orders went in. The salads were missing a key ingredient. The app was forgotten and then arrived only after the mains.
Once would be a bad night. Twice would be bad luck. Three. Four times of this, it's just bad management. The owners either don't care about their investment or are just that bad at running a restaurant. Fire your Manager. Retrain them. Do something. Either way, there's too many other places, offering too many interesting menus to put up with this.
I'm done. I surrender. I'm tired of it. I won't be back.
Host seated us promptly. Ordered mussels - very small size and void of any flavor. Had to ask wait staff three times for a seafood fork only to find out they did not have one (English should be first language in a restaurant). Server did make a concession and had the chef whip up some sauteed garlic spinach because asparagus not on the menu (although it was on the web menu).
