Took a really long time to get drinks, order, be checked on period. The waiter was swamped with tables that all sat down at the same time and had no help from any other employees. We had several glasses on the table that were not clean (lip stick stains) and had to wait a long time to request new glasses. Our waiter was good but couldn't keep up with needs of the table just based on his work load. It was also extremely hot in the restaurant too, no air circulation. Overall the experience was not great based on service and atmosphere.
Always a fun stop, great craft beer on draft and in bottles, with a substantial wine list and cocktails. We started with the wrinkled peppers that are roasted with sea salt. My husband loves them and ate almost the entire bowl. I was nice enough to share the glazed delicious brussel sprouts. We shared the meat pizza that was tasty. I tasted two sours and two saisons, all were interesting. My hubby enjoyed two IPAs, I'm not remembering...we did finish with a delicious KBS, hard to find and totally rich and thick and tasty!
Took 40 minutes from ordering until our food came
Never had a bad meal at Rustico- they have a large variety of food and beer. Definitely would recommend the risotto bites!
Met up with friends for a birthday dinner. Tasty pizza and salad. Attentive wait staff. Delicious chocolate cake. Not overpriced and enjoyed our night.
Was very nice as alway, but this time the music was too loud and somewhat annoying. Pls turn it down. Thanks
Other than the gentleman who poured our water basically all over the table without saying much dinner was delicious
Great experience, very crowded (Easter Sunday), food was delicious...
Love that the bar has a steady rotation of local NoVa beers on tap, particularly those that are hard to come by unless you visit the brewery itself. They tend to always have 2 or 3 from Veil, out of Richmond, which is worth the visit alone.
Overall good experience and the food was really good. Kitchen messed up one order and it took FOREVER (almost an hour) for our entrees to arrive.
Great service from the staff. Have been to Rustico many times and food never disappoints; however, this past visit left more to be desired. The wings were not cooked through and the sauce tasted funny. Have gotten the Brussel sprouts several times, but again, this past visit the dish provided was so small. I dislike inconsistencies in the same dishes. Otherwise, beer and burgers continue to be excellent!
The food was not good. The pita bread came out burnt and was not acceptable. Not sure why they thought it was okay to even serve. Ordered a mojito from the bar and it took 30 minutes for me to get it. When it arrived it tastes like club soda and mint. NEVER again will I go here!!
Neighborhood Gem! We recently moved to the Del Ray area and have been to Rustico once a week. It came highly recommended by several friends, we really enjoy having this option in the area. They are very kid-friendly as well.
Great food, beer, and location. Never disappointing 😀
My friends and I enjoyed the bento box lunch. It included a delicious butternut squash soup or fresh salad plus a choice of several half sandwiches. We loved the Brussels sprouts appetizer and the Panna Cotta for desert. Our server was terrific!
Food was great. Staff was friendly and helpful.
If you are looking for Pizza- this is good- everyone enjoyed the Pizza. The Pork chop with brussel sprouts came with virtually raw brussel sprouts. There was a thick pork chop (that's nice), but required a knife other than a butter knife to cut- which I would have been happy to request had the server come back prior to the end of the meal. Would I try it again? Probably, but only if I wanted Pizza or a burger.
Always a favorite !! Neighborhood gem too~ Food is reliably good and fresh !!
Very pleased with recommendations by our server, food was excellent, service also great. Never had a bad meal there
Great food, great service... would definitely go again!
This was our second visit and we were less impressed with the service this time. The food was tasty, but not exactly plentiful considering the price. We both had the salmon, which was very good, but my portion was considerable smaller than my wife’s. I also think. The kitchen botched the prep the first time, but they would not say so; it too them 40 minutes to bring our meals and the restaurant was not too busy. We registered our concerns with the manager, who kindly adjusted our bill and offered a free dessert which was a fair concession. Good food, but be prepared to wait and do not hesitate to voice concerns.
We go to Rustico frequently and have never been disappointed. The food is great, service is friendly and good and the dining room is pleasant. It is a little loud in the bar area as when the dining room is not open as the TV is usually tuned to sports and it is hard to hear conversation but the waitstaff are always pleasant and the food is always good.
Good service but food was average.
Rustico burger is the bomb. Fries...not so much. Brussels sprouts and tomato soup were great. Service great. Music was just awful. Truly. Will go back but hope the music is better.
Our party was made up of all out of Towners and needed a place to gather and talk. Rustico was able to accommodate our party of 9. Pizza was very good as well as the appetizers. Quite pleasantly surprised and would definitely return on a future visit.
The meals were very good. I suggest they find a local baker that makes a nice “rustic” loaf and serve it with some Brie or olive spread.
Great place for a friendly gathering or with the family. Food and service were great. Plenty of local craft beers on tap, including some from Veil out of Richmond!
Pretty good food, BAD SLOW SERVICE.
The food here is pretty good. I have been here several times over the years. Pizzas are good, truffle fries good. My complaint is the service. The service is bad every single time I have been here this past year. Last night we we had dinner and we sat at our table for at least twenty minutes before anyone came over to greet us and take a drink order. This also happened when we went here for dinner the time before in November. We also noticed that the table sitting next to us struggled to get the attention of their server. Seems to be a theme in this place.
The meal, salad with salmon and a hamburger were fine. Nothing amazing but good, decent food in a convenient spot that was quiet enough to talk.
Entrees (pizza and burger) were just fine--really good pizza (gluten-free option sounded interesting, but we didn't need it), chef nailed medium rare on the burger--but sides left a lot to be desired. Grilled Caesar had interesting (in a good way) flavor, but it's no longer a salad, just another cooked vegetable. Truffle fries tasted fine, but were seriously overcooked to near-tooth-breaking crunch.
Service: aggressively friendly, maybe a little overloaded and hassled, but when I ask how big the burger is (to decide between medium and medium rare), I expect something better than "oh, medium large." I'll give a pass on bringing back an open bottle of the AF beer when the errand was to find out what they had. Know the ounces; that's what I'm asking for. And no response when I assured that I didn't want change.
To Open Table: I got an email with 100 points; my account says zero. ???
Excellent brunch and great service. We were very pleasantly surprised by Rustico’s ability to accommodate my family of 11, including 5 kids under seven. We had plenty of space and never felt like we were in someone’s way or being too loud. The brunch menu and restaurant week specials were fantastic. Our server was nice, efficient, and generally on top of his game.
Consistently good food, however, beware of “specials”. Waiter told us about special beer of the day and failed to tell us price. We ordered it and discovered it was $40 once the bill came. Very misleading!
Crispy Brussel sprouts and carrot hummus were amazing! Also highly recommend the roasted beet salad with seared salmon.
Good beer and pizza as usual but when you are not seated at bar the wait is frustrating.
Having been to Rustico only once before and quite some time ago, I was not sure what to expect when my wife and another couple had dinner there over the weekend. We were pleasantly surprised by a very good meal and excellent and friendly service, all at a reasonable price. It was quiet enough to carry on a normal conversation, the surroundings were tasteful and the food (two different pizzas and some sides) were all excellent. I would definitely go back.
Service was very very good. Great pizza. Could use some sound damping.
The service was very solicitous and well orchestrated, and the prices are very reasonable. Go to restaurant for easy dinner and good atmosphere. Server was great.
Window booth seating. Quick service, accommodating hostess, attentive server. Shared Brussels sprouts (yum) and we each had a Rustico burger. Delicious! Beverages were a beer and a glass of wine, both reasonably priced. Even on a busy Saturday night, we were able to get in and out in an hour, happily fed, fully satisfied.
Food was amazingly tasty. Very large beer menu. Great place for american/Italian. The food menu is kind of small but everything sounded yummy.
Our first time at Rustico and we were impressed. The service was great and the food was excellent. The parmigiana fries were a great appetizer and the white pesto pizza was quite tasty; really good crust. We came for lunch this time on a cool and windy day, so the restaurant wasn’t too busy which was nice; peaceful and easy conversation. We will certainly try dinner her sometime. If you need a quick bite of quality cuisine, give Rustico a try!
