Pulled Pork Pizza
Bechamel, Spinach, Provolone, Caramelized Onions, Barbeque Sauce
korean BBQ sauce, miso mayo
The service was good and really enjoyed the food. I ordered the fried cauliflower with the vodka pizza. I added caramelized onions, arugula, and jalapeños to the pizza and it was delicious. I couldn't finish any of my food, which is fine because I'll just throw it in the air fryer later. The cauliflower had a nice kick to it and the pizza was cooked just right.
My dad got the fried tomatoes and I stole one from that I enjoyed as well. The sauce and goat cheese was a perfect addition to it.
I also ordered a piña colada that tasted refreshing in the hot weather. I would frequent again in the future. Parking wasn't a hassle and we were seated very quickly.
Father’s Day. Ordering done online. While the wait staff what cordial the ordering process online is impersonal. We sat outside which was nice. Food was good. Would change the ordering process and do it the old fashion way with a server.
I used to love Rustico's extensive menu, creative pizzas, and solid service. I went on Friday night for date night with my husband and found none of these things. The food was good, not excellent. Our server was nice, but not overly attentive--we had to flag her down a couple of times for routine items. Do they still have their awesome beer list? I don't know, we never saw anything beyond what was on the back of the menu. What perhaps ruined this experience the most was the kitchen manager shouting orders at the top of her lungs during our entire dinner. "Listen up, I need 4 spaghetti and meatballs, 1 white pizza, 1 bacon and date app...." etc... That was a special treat. Overall, I might give Rustico one more opportunity to see if this is a permanent culture change, but I would try other places first.
The food was fantastic. The servers were very helpful with recommendations and accommodations. And as always, the beer choices were fun and tasty! We will definitely go back!
Still lots of fun, but the Rustica of a few years ago had a much larger menu.
It was great to be in a restaurant with our family again. The food was excellent and so was the service. The whole staff was welcoming and smiling.
Many things on the menu not available, pizza was below standards versus pre COVID. Chicken sandwich was good!
Rustico is a local beer and pizza joint with a rather limited menu but a large selection of beers
When it first opened it had a better menu
Rustico is a neighborhood gem. Food is good not too cheap though.
service is a hit and miss.. but yesterday Lindsey was awesome.
We waited for about an hour for our food when the restaurant was not even half way full, however they removed our alcoholic drinks off the check to make up for it.
The food was amazing! Everything came out piping hot credit to the amazing food runners and kitchen staff for a fresh delicious meal! All the cocktails were delicious and the beer selection was great. This was our first dining experience back inside since the pandemic and we will be back many more times!
Everything was great - though out of coffee at brunch?
The app service is really horrendous!! I have to tip when I order? That’s crazy. You need my phone number and email address to ask about a food allergy? Again—nuts.
Excellent service. Decent food, but really wish they'd up their game. Limited Covid menu meant only six mains and one was vegan and another was sold out. They claim to be healthy / sensitive to dietary needs but: one "GF" main had farro listed as a primary ingredient; they don't have sweet potato fries, and the regular fries are cooked in nasty canola oil. They have six mediocre (at best) red wines that they store high above their cash registers (where it's nice and warm) yet they charge a $25 corkage fee (same as Morton's and Ruth's Chris).
I'm sure this is a great place to grab a pizza for lunch. I think we'll pass on dinner.
The service was great. But the food was not. My eggs benedict were cold and the yolks were very overcooked. I should have returned them and asked them to cook me new eggs - but I didn't want to make a fuss. Another diner in my party had a turkey sub. It was all bread and hardly any turkey. We ordered a bottle of champagne to celebrate Mother's Day and it wasn't chilled. As far as at the atmosphere, I hadn't been to Rustico in a while - and the restaurant looks a bit warn and could use a facelift.
Fantastic brunch menu with many diet options. Great for all ages.
Staff was very friendly and efficient! Fun casual dining and good atmosphere
Service was terrible. Within seconds of sitting down 3 different waiters asked us for our order, but we hadn't even looked at the menu yet. After that we couldn't even get anybody's attention to order. We were finally able to order (30 minutes later), our food came out quick but we had no drinks... no water, no alcohol. My experience was so bad that I probably will not go back. There's many other options around that I can go to if they don't want my money.
Excellent food and service from start to finish. Can't wait to go back!
Had dinner tonight at Rustico. Hadn’t been in awhile. It was very good. We had white pizza, the chicken and the salmon. We all enjoyed our meals. You can either order through the QR code or have a server. They have indoor and outdoor dining. I will go back!
We used to eat at the Arlington location regularly, and this was our first time at Alexandria and during COVID. The online payment / ordering system is fantastic, but the food was a pretty big miss. Ceasar salad was basic and over-dressed (it was much better when they did a grilled Ceasar, that's been off the menu for a while), mushroom bruschetta was tasty but poorly plated, and the pizza was just off - only a little crispy, mostly soggy dough and way too much cheese / saltiness on top. Didn't have that great brick oven freshness you would expect. A real disappointment after being regulars pre-covid. Would go back for the great beer list, but not for the food.
Great beet salad, great beer. Our main courses were the Rustico burgers and neither was prepared as ordered (both came out well done instead of med and med rare). The fries were limp, overcooked, disappointing.
Rustico is one of our favorite places but the last two times - 2 months apart—have not been up to the pre pandemic bar.
Appreciate the workers but will hold off returning for a while.
Rustico provided for our party precisely what we were looking for. Two families, both celebrating birthdays, had a very enjoyable meal and celebration. Rustico accomodated our wants, our service was superb, and we did what we set out to do. Recommend to anyone. It was also a good meeting place for a family from DC and a family from Woodbridge. Worked out fine.
Best selection of beers and pizza pies around!
This place used to Rock! And, now it doesn't any more. It cannot be blamed on Covid, unfortunately, but their way of implementing "cleanliness and safety" is not okay at all. First, the setup of having to order everything online while you sit there, is insane. Secondly, having to ask for napkins, whether or not you want disposable silverware, plates, etc. (and we are eating in the restaurant, so why not have us check a box that says "make it all to-go" or not up front) is tedious. The decor is gone off the walls, servers (except the one bartender guy who was great) come by in piecemeal fashion and bring things, drip, drip...(napkins on one trip, then condiments another person's trip, then the food another trip, then someone else bringing a warm beer jug of water to the table...)....it just ruined this being a relaxing time. Worst of all was the hostess, who was NOT at all busy: We had booked a table at 7:30, for outside as the preference, asked when we arrived at 5 til 7 if we could wait and have a drink, she told us she'd come and get us when the table was free, we were in her line of sight, she never even tried to seat us outside. At 8 p.m. we pointed this out and she seated us, but there was no apology from her at all. This place used to be great, we knew every employee, we sat at the chef's table, we had a great experience. While the food was still pretty good, they've changed the menu so much to be these funkier, supposedly "healthier" versions of other items (quinoa in the ceasar salad?) that it also makes navigating it to find something somewhat simpler just a chore. Either do takeout completely, Rustico, or go back to serving customers. Asking us to tip 20% or more on the online app (which we did do) is kind of insulting when we're managing our order the entire night. Just feels empty as a spot to go and enjoy, like they aren't over the fear factor of Covid--most places have found creative ways to still be homey and welcoming a year later.
Never disappointed. Great food and service. My favorite mushroom pizza.
Service was great - very attentive and pleasant staff, food and drinks were quick, and everyone was following all the COVID protocols. Food was delicious...I had the beet salad and Korean bbq cauliflower. Would definitely go back!
Great food and service. Patio ordering app was easy.
outstanding service and food - excellent wine list - will be back :-)
Great food from apps to entree to dessert. Well done.
My husband and I went for Valentine's Day. We were seated with respect to six feet social distancing, but then another couple was seated next to us with a booth divider in between. It defeated the purpose of social distancing, and I could tell other couple was uncomfortable. They even considered outdoor eating.
There was no actual waiting service aside from being seated, food and a pitcher of water being delivered to the table. A pre-fixed menu was offered with no obligation to order from it. We had to order online and added our table number so the waiter could find us. Although there was little to no service, we were still prompted for 10-20% tip through the online order. It was a little awkward considering we waited a long time for the food and had to flag down staff for more water. We even overhead another table confronting staff about the food delay and how ridiculous it was that they had to wait so long for $160 worth of food, mainly appetizers.
Our bill came to $91 for sub-par food. The delivery of the food was slow. Appetizers came out with main dishes and dessert came as soon as I took a bite of my main dish. I finished my main dish before my husband received his main. The waiter offered to comp his meal. The shrimp and grits and shrimp linguine were not impressive. The linguine was very oily. The cheesecake was room temp and soggy. I honestly think the restaurant was in over their heads by the ordering system and amount of people they attempted to serve. The meal was way to expensive and we wished we'd bought $90 worth of groceries instead.
Horrible Valentine’s Day dinner. They were doing “contactless service” which did not go smoothly at all. I think we had MORE contact with them than a normal dining experience because they came to our table so often with the WRONG food. All the tables around us also had issues with the food and the service. We didn’t even get our appetizer until the very end of our dinner and had to take it to go!!!
The wait staff were running around like crazy trying to serve the wrong food to every table, which is not covid safe. And unfortunately we had to buy every item separately over the phone and tip on every single purchase.
The contactless delivery made it difficult, we didn’t get our orders right, our steak was cooked wrong, we didn’t get our appetizers, and no one from the staff told us about the special Valentine’s Day menu with the three course options so we weren’t able to order from it.
Overall horrible service and since we don’t go out often for dinner this complete ruined our Valentine’s Day date.
Hours were dif from the website and yelp. Had to order on their website, had to TIP on every order. Website isn’t user friendly. Just seemed like too much trouble.
Lovely outdoor seating. Good beer selection (not as excellent as it used to be). Good food
Great food and service. Was quieter than expected due to COVID-19. Hope this pandemic doesn't last too long because their food is great.
Great food, great atmosphere!
Late night dinner was great
Good food and service. Friday night dinner time is family time (kids and babies) so probably not the best date time! Lots of dads in line with babies.
Time to change bathrooms to unisex.
Great dinner and the doughnuts are irresistible!
