   We have dined here since the opening many years ago and were disappointed tonight on the service. I never leave reviews but felt this time I had to. We had a large party, confirmed a couple of days before. The place was dead. Took us over 30 minutes just to get water. Food came out in a reasonable time but the waitress was horrible. I went to the bathroom after eating, place was still dead and all service and kitchen staff were sitting around on their phones while we were waiting for a refill on drinks but ended with the check because we knew it would take forever for another round of drinks. The check took 20 minutes. Highly disappointed but food and beverages were awesome as usual. Your front of the house of the staff desperately needs training or at least this waitress. At one point she said “oh sorry I’m half asleep.”

   I had the cauliflower, which was a bit blah. Then the pepperoni pizza, which was good. Nice and cheesy, plenty of pepperoni. Ask for Jorge to be your server. He's great!

   Our meals were just ok, with some complaints. FLANK STEAK SALAD - steak tough and not med rare, almost med well. ROASTED TURKEY SUB just ok not that tasty GRILLED CHICKEN SALAD - ok chicken fairly tender, but it was flavorful. From the beginning , the waitress didn't seem to be having a good day. Later, when we complained about the steak she said she would tell the chef, but we heard nothing further. A disappointment because previously we could always count on a good meal there.

    My family and I had pizza. None of us liked it because the center was too soggy. The waiter was not familiar with the drink menu, he couldn’t answer any of my questions.

    The food was bland and the waiters were very inattentive. No one came to our table for like 30 mins when we got sat. We had to flag a waiter down.

    If you want a delicious pizza with an awesome crust accompanied with tasty drinks in a cozy and clean atmosphere, choose Rustico Restaurant on Slater’s Lane in Alexandria VA ! Excellent location off of major thoroughfares, and an Alexandria favorite for cupcakes is right across the street at Buzz Bakeshop ! You can’t beat a delicious lunch followed by a pickup order of fresh made cupcakes !

    Rustico is large and has an open ceiling. Even though it was not overly crowded, it was VERY noisy. The menu on the Open Table app did not match the menu at the restaurant. None of the pasta dishes were available. Our calamari, which was on the menu at the restaurant, but not the menu online, came with a good bit of the batter separated from the seafood. My pizza was quite delicious. My partner’s salmon was nothing special.

    Although the food was good, an awkward managerial decision overshadowed the experience. The drinks took an inordinate amount of time to arrive. The first red (veritas) was unfiltered, full of large sediment and corked. Did not mention this and just ordered malbec. The second round of drinks included 3 drinks, one of which was a martini that we didn’t order. When we said we hadn’t ordered it, the server stated that we could keep it as it would be wasted, so ok. Thank you. It was ten minutes later and one sip in that the manager approached and stated he understood there had been a mistake made with drinks. He then stated we wouldn’t mind if he took it. Away he went with the drink to toss it out. Quite astonishing customer service. We will not be back.

    We have not visited since ‘20, and were pleased to find Rustico remains an excellent choice for a casual to a relaxed business dinner spot. Having 30 some drafts and an extensive bottle selection! Fun appetizers, excellent pizza, pasta and mains, our group had the Butcher’s Block Sgt Pepperoni and several chicken vodka sauce pennes, with unanimous delete! Attentive not intrusive service, the crowd was from formal to kids, we did hear an entering couple at the host stand complain they thought it was too loud and ask for a quiet table - well you can sit outside but this is a local pub, a community spot with lots of energy and great vibe, folks are enjoying themselves!

    This was our first time eating here. The service was excellent, as well as the atmosphere. We had a fantastic Beet salad and the pizzas were the best. We were not disappointed and look forward to going back!

    Visited with good friends. I am GF so I greatly appreciate all the truly delicious and normal tasting items - fried cauliflower, beet salad and chicken wings were delicious. And the risotto tots. Hubby enjoy his sausage pizza. The beer selection is very good. The cocktails were a bit disappointing (second one on the list comes in a very small glass) and the Fairfax Pinot Noir also. The service sometimes took a while. Overall we still had a nice time!

    Great Sicilian-style pizza! My husband and I appreciated the ambience (quiet but not so quiet that our two-year-old was a disturbance) and the robust craft beer menu. Parking is easy and provided behind the restaurant. Highly recommend this neighborhood spot!

    We had an outside table for brunch, so disregard the noise level. I had the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were delicious and just the right texture. My friend had a lovely brunch burger and fries, which were all tasty.

    Lots of families with kids but it didn’t feel like a kid’s restaurant. Sharing appetizers was suggested by our waiter and that turned out to be a great way to start. Wish there were more NA grown up drinks but it was fine. We will be back.

    First time at Alexandria location. Great selection of draft beers. Food was good quality and bountiful. Although short staffed, the two employees did an outstanding job hustling and keeping everyone satisfied. Very pleased with the experience.

    We have been to Rustico many times and taken out food as well. Food is always great. This time, we took friends there on. Friday night with 6:30 reservations. Place was busy. We were immediately greeted and seated. We all loved our meals. White pizzza with mushrooms (yummy wood fired crust cooked perfectly & not burnt); brussels sprouts; ravioli with bolognese; rustico burger. Great, attentive service. Wonder atmosphere.
