The food was so dry and bland. I’ve had great pizza here before, but this time it was like store bought pizza sauce had more seasoning.
Our waitress would take the longest time getting to us. The restaurant wasn’t even busy.
Just a disappointing lunch
This was my first visit to Rustico, and it was very enjoyable. They have three delicious non-alcoholic cocktails, which this mama-to-be really appreciated. I got the Thunder Road pizza, which was equally delicious. The service was a bit slow at times, but the staff was very friendly.
Our waiter didnt treat us as well as other maybe because we are in our early 20’s but still we had the money to eat there and we felt like she wasn’t taking us serious . We literally waited 45 mins to get our check but food was delicious but service was terrible she didn’t even offer me another beer
The waiter never checked on us after our food was delivered. If she had, she would have learned that one of the two toppings was missing from the pizza and dressing was put directly on the entree salad when requested to be on the side. In addition, I would have liked to have ordered another beer with my meal. We've eaten here several times before and have had good experiences though I doubt we will return after this one.
We went for lunch shortly after Christmas and there weren’t many people there, but everything was great. The lunchbox option is great for people who can’t decide!
We used to love Rustico for family birthdays and events. But it has gone downhill in recent years. Still OK service, but the menu is much more limited than it used to be and the food is mediocre at best. My husband’s crab cakes the other night looked like they could have come out of the grocery store freezer aisle, and they were $26. Here’s hoping it regains its old style and great food in the months to come.
We love getting together at Rustico! The menu, the wine, the atmosphere! Awesome!
Get the tots, drink the Malbec, ENJOY!
Our waiter seemed half awake.
It took a long time to get our cocktails. He did not write down the food order and as a result my order was not correct.
After we had our check, it was like he forgot about us completely.
Food excellent, service very poor.
I had the burger and it was delicious. My husband had the wings. He said they were very good. He also liked his Old fashion. Over all food was fantastic. Great place to relax on a Friday night after a long week.
Great kids' meals and they honor happy hour in the restaurant (not just at the bar) -- what more could parents with 3 small kids want? The food and beer selection is awesome, too!
The food was good but the service was a little slow. We were seated by the door and the people gathered just inside the restaurant waiting for a table was very loud.
We went (first time) for my birthday with my parents from out of town. The lighting was very poor, over head lights burned out and we asked our server to light the candle on our table twice....he never came to light it. My husband order the grilled chicken, it came out charred and raw on the inside. We sent it back, but there was no communication from our server or management. They brought him a new one, after everyone was done with their meal. The chicken was comped, which our waiter told us when he brought the check. Overall it was a poor experience.
Food was good but service was very slow. I think that they were understaffed.
Wow. Our last experience at Rustico was disappointing. We used to love coming here for good food and lively atmosphere. I now know why it was so empty. For being virtually empty, the food took so long and the food no longer felt upscale like it used to. The burger I had tasted machine made rather than juicy and hand formed. It sounds really specific, but I once at an amazing burger there. Just seemed like it is going downhill. Not sure if we will go back.
Rustico used to be our “go to” place for a comfortable, great quality meal. It seems they’ve cut several corners on the food, and it’s just a “meh” experience now. The beer list is still top notch, but the food is just average anymore. For instance, the kids burger used to be a real, hand made burger... tonight it was a tasteless frozen patty. The pear salad was uninspired.
Pizza was very nice, brussel sprouts were good, calamari seemed overpriced for the portion/quality ☹️
Our go-to with kiddos.
Always love coming. No beer choice for non craft beer lovers. Great pizza.
Always delicious with gracious service
Great food and beer
Great marberita pizza
It was my brothers birthday. Kate the waitress was awesome. Food amazing. But very noisy and for some inexplicable reason they turned true lights down over our table right after we sat down. So tough to hear and see. But very fun and food and service top notch. Just ask to be seated where you want
Was really happy that the chef was able to make a “retired Greek Salad Pizza” for us. Thank you for being accommodating!
First time we were there. Got a lot of different items. All delicious.
The food as always is really good. Would like the seating area to be open around 5pm instead of 5:30pm though for those just getting off work.
Nice on the side, nice atmosphere!
Rustico is a great place to get together with friends to enjoy artisinal pizza and a wide variety of beers on draft. Love their outside seating with fire pit. Service is very good. Recommend!
Typically I love Rustico and highly recommend it, going frequently as its a block or so away. But last night, it was off its game. The service was lackluster (one server clearly unhappy, not friendly, and just grunting when grabbing glasses to refill, food took an inordinate amount of time and was cold, wine was warm and tasted as if it was turning, it was hard to get the servers attention when we needed it, but they managed to continually interrupt the conversation - I know that's a really hard balance to get right). Plus it was ever so noisy for dinner time, impossible to talk, unhappy baby, so the music was turned way up. Just not enjoyable........which was unexpected.
Three years of our multi-generational family of 7 patronizing this restaurant every Friday night (checks always >$150) was not enough for this restaurant's manager to consider that some of our family's adults really liked the kid's personal pizza much better than the meh pizza from the regular menu.. The manager decided to disregard customer loyalty and admonish family members for trying to "game the system". We will not return there ever again.
Amazing gluten free pizza and truffle fries!
Getting even better
New menu items - mushroom pizza was delicious - but favorites remain. Excellent service as always. Enjoy trying new beers especially local ones.
We love this restaurant but will not go back for awhile. I do not appreciate that servers and runners can not use common pleasantries, please, thank you, you’re welcome. Our server NEVER said thank you, when presenting the bill or after we had paid the bill. That is just not acceptable.
We love Rustico...the food and service are both outstanding. HOWEVER, it is NOT worthwhile to use the Restaurant Week menu because it offers no bargain over prices on the regular menu. I wish our someone would have pointed that out to us. Also, when we were there, a nearby table had two little kids whose parents did not seem to care how much they screamed during the dinner. Granted, they were screaming with delight while playing with each other, but it did detract somewhat from our dining experience. So, by all means visit the restaurant. But do NOT order from the Restaurant Week menu and try to steer away from the screaming little ones, which is not always easy to do.
We asked that the music be turned down and it was- immediately! Server was not attentive and was not particularly interested in what we needed. Food was not hot and not particularly inviting. I have been here before and was very disappointed. At this point I could not recommend Rustico to a friend- I have enjoyed it in the past.
Service was friendly and exceptional.
Service was fantastic and the truffle pizza was excellent! Great find.
Service was good but food portions were somewhat small (at least for the ravioli) and the restaurant was extremely warm and muggy.
We were surprised that our pasta entree, which was tasty but expensive, didn't come with any sides and certainly wasn't enough food to make a meal on its own ($17 for six ravioli!). One son said the pizza was okay, and the other liked his fries but wasn't a fan of the fish that was part of the fish & chips meal, usually a favorite dish of his. Although ice cream was supposed to come with the kids' meal, it wasn't offered to my daughter who ordered off the kids' menu. Otherwise, we liked our server. The music was loud enough to make it hard to talk.
Everything was great!
