Wonderful food, great service. Very nice family run business. Servers are really nice. Salad, main course and dessert all perfect.
Food was good but way overpriced. This is Chester CT not Westport.
Ordered the bruschetta as an app for $11. Was served two small slices of Italian bread cover with peppers and sausage. Good but tiny.
Ordered the pasta with sausage $25! Not much on the menu for less than that.
We arrived on a Saturday night and the women felt a draft so they quickly and without hesitation moved our table to a more suitable spot. The caesar salad was very good, and the offering of 1/2 portions on the pasta was unexpected. The egg plant appetizer was excellent as well as the pasta dish that I had (half portion was plenty for me). Service was a little bit slow but it was a busy Saturday night and we were not in a hurry. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Outstanding evening, and we were last to leave!! It was that good.
It was snowing hard outside, so we were a bit surprised to find the restaurant completely occupied. Fortunately we had booked ahead, but I had expected a few no-shows. The quality of the food explained why people wanted to come in despite of the weather. Good food, good service, good wine.
This was our first visit, and probably our last, under the current ownership. We arrived to a packed bar and restaurant at 7:25 and were shown to our table. We had bread and a bruschetta during the first hour and fifteen minutes and got our entree as the restaurant was starting to thin out. My "prime" steak was muscular to say the least. I mentioned it to the manager when he asked how everything was, and he didn't say much. We skipped coffee and dessert and departed after more than two hours and only two tables still occupied. The food was average to mediocre, the service was slow and rather unprofessional and nobody seemed to be in charge. What a difference from the previous ownership. What bothered me the most was that nobody seemed to realize that this wasn't acceptable. Never again!
This was our first experience with Rustica. I booked last minute with Open Table for Valentine's Day. The restaurant called to adjust our time by 15 minutes. No problem. Having been in the Boston area for many years, I was pleasantly surprised how well Rustica handled a busy Valentine's day. Our table was ready on time. Our service was fantastic. We had a bottle of wine and delicious homemade bread came quickly. Very attentive. My husband had the meatball appetizer - very light and tasty. I had the Brussels sprout salad app - also nice and lightly flavored with shaved Parmesan. He had the gnocchi with bolognese. Obviously hand-made pasta with a great bolognese. I had the Carbonara. I've had this at many restaurants and I have to say that Rustica is spot on. Perfectly creamy, but still light. Again, you can tell it's homemade pasta. Service was quick, but not rushed. We will definitely be back. Only wish it was closer to our town.
Veal overcooked and vegetable undercooked. Service poor.
Rustica is our favorite eatery! Everything on the menus is wonderful and if you want something different, just ask. The wait staff are knowledgeable about the dinner and wine menus. They are attentive but not "in your face". Always a happy atmosphere . We have been many times and will return many more!
Good..expensive for the amount of food you receive..everything is extra..
Great gnocchi! All pastas are made in-house. Menu not large but offers something for everyone. All food delicious. Higher priced, but worth it.
We have dined at Rustica many times for several years. It is our favorite Italian restaurant.
Excellent service and great meal. Very easy to work with as our numbers changed a few times. Recommend for any occasion.
Great Branzino. Very nice place we will be back for sure!
good food, good service, good seating--what more is there? very friendly and accomodating staff.
Service was excellent, food was delicious, but we think the veal was pork. My daughter is a chef and has experience with this trick. Everything was very good, but a little bit over priced.
Always so fresh, with the purest ingredients, we love this classic Italian. Red sauce made to new heights
We had dinner at Rustica last weekend. The restaurant decor is simple but nice and inviting. The staff were very friendly. The waitstaff were personable. The pasta is homemade and was quite good. Definitely a place to return to.
Outstanding food, especially the fresh pasta dishes. Comfortable atmosphere--not too elegant, not too casual. Just a wonderful small place with very fine cooking. The cheesecake dessert is a huge winner. Would love that recipe!
New Year’s Eve dinner with friends was extremely enjoyable. We started with delicious salads. Our entrees were very good although the rack of lamb ordered by 2 of us was almost raw rather than medium-rare and had to be returned for additional cooking. That said, once corrected everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was excellent. We’ll be back.
One of our favorites in the State of Connecticut. Once again we spent a wonderful evening at Rustica. Appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts all perfect. Four happy people!
Some of the best italian food we’ve ever had! The ambiance is perfect and very cozy. It’s perfect for a date night. Family owned business—service was top notch. We are so glad we found this place and will definitely be going back! You won’t be disappointed!
Just a romantic date with the most beautiful woman these eyes have ever seen... Great food, excellent service.
Andres is a phenomenal waiter - he could not be more friendly and accommodating! Hadn’t been there in months and he remembered everyone’s name.
the food was great with a nice presentation. the staff was attentive when we needed them. wine list was a little over priced and only Italian selections. would have liked to see wine from other countries, my wife doesn't care for Italian wine.
Crowded and noisy. It would take an extremely large shoe horn to squeeze another table in the dining area. Food is quite good, a bit overpriced. Overall, not worth the effort.
Went on a Tuesday night. Very quiet as there was only us and another couple at the bar. Our bartender, Matt, was very personable and service minded. Food was great and the bill reasonable for what we got. Will go back again in a few weeks.
A favorite restaurant ...excellent food and service. ..Vincente and Conchi are wonderful hosts.Always a treat.
Once again, great meal at a high quality local restaurant; great appetizers, fresh baked bread, homemade pasta's and great desserts.
We had attended the play at the Goodspeed and were excited to find this nice restaurant so close by! A friend had recommended it. We were "early birds" and had the restaurant to ourselves. The staff was very friendly and competent! The food was good....but a little pricey.
We ate here on the late side for this area - 7:30 on a Thursday night. The pre-theater dinner crowd had left, so it was quiet. Began with sharing the antipasto appetizer then enjoyed delicious fresh pasta dishes - Linguine di Mare is my favorite. Everything is so fresh and simple here. Italian cuisine at its best. The service was top rate - friendly and professional.
The first timeI went with friends it was excellent. Service and food were great. This time it was not great. Service was slow and poor. Food was just ok.
Wonderful night out. Great, amazing food with a knowledgeable staff. Will take the drive again.
Even though I haven't been there in a long time, I plan to go back real soon
We were extremely disappointed in our experience. We sat down and waited 10 minutes before we even received a wine list. Knowing we wanted the antipasto plate with the bottle of wine we were going to order I placed that order right away assuming it takes 5 minutes to receive a bottle of wine. It took us 15 minutes with our sad looking antipasto plate just sitting there and then 5 more minutes to receive 4 pieces of bread to go with it. We shared an order of the gnocchi after which was over cooked, squishy, and really not flavorful at all.
We then waited 20 more minutes for someone to ask us about dessert- at that point we were so done we just left. Funny how on receiving our check back to be signed the waiter decided that was when he should check in with us and see how the night was going...
We had such high hopes and it all looks gorgeous online- everything fell so flat it was a huge disappointment for what should have been a special night out.
Excellent food and the meatball appetizer is outstanding as are the home made pastas.
Excellent pasta dishes. Especially liked that a they serve half portions. The soup and their special carbonara were excellent.
Dinner was good but way overpriced for portion size. Will not return.
Never fails to live up to expectations - cozy but sophisticated decor, good service and fabulous food - a simple salmon, spinach and wild rice dinner was delicious.
