"There are three possible parts to a date, of which at least two must be offered: entertainment, food, and affection. It is customary to begin a series of dates with a great deal of entertainment, a moderate amount of food, and the merest suggestion of affection. As the amount of affection increases, the entertainment can be reduced proportionately. When the affection IS the entertainment, we no longer call it dating. Under no circumstances can the food be omitted" Judith Martin. It reminds me of when Joe and I began dating. Going place to place, until one day we had a meal at a restaurant offering a suckling pig roast Chefs Dinner. We enjoyed the story telling from the chef as much as the food. It became our go to place. One of those special places we didn't share with anyone else. Romantic, whimsical, and all the things that a date night should be was neatly wrapped in this wonderful place. I loved it so much that I would recommend it to passengers on the daily trains I worked, family, friends or anyone who would listen. Encouraging all who asked where to eat other than the touristy type places. The answer to what was new in the city. Some listened and would seek me out to thank me, they too fell in love with the overall charm, amazing service and the not to be forgotten the tasting menus that left you feeling like you needed to be rolled down the street. I attended two pasta making classes, one I was joined by my best friend and the final with my Son. Ever late to the party, he too, learned how special it was. Weaseling his way to our final reservation. (Kids) So tonight, we say goodbye to a wonderful place full of memories. This is thier final service. From the Ciesielczuk-Campbell family to yours thank you for the wonderful dining experience. Thank you for always catering to our difficult allergy needs. Best wishes to the Wonderful Russet family.

Dining on the final Saturday before Russet closes. Simply the best restaurant I've dined in since moving here from the West Coast. The service? Beyond measure. The culinary arts? Just that...the most artistic and delicious fare. The setting? Romantic...always. Will most sincerely be missed.

This was our first time to Russet. We read about it in the May Food and Wine Magazine. We were sorry to learn that we were dining on the last night of the restaurant after 7 years of operation. Experience was worthy of coming back and food was innovative, delicious---staff excellent. Small, friendly, focused. Good luck to all the staff as they are hopefully absorbed in other food venues.

I have been to Russet many times over the years. I was sorry to hear that they are closing. I made a special trip from New York and my cousin came up from North Carolina to have one last meal at this wonderful restaurant. We will miss their innovative dishes. It was a great run.

I am a huge fan of Russet and will be sorry to see this neighborhood gem close. Decided to take advantage of Chef/Owner Andrew's talents as a culinary master by taking his pasta making class which was great fun. Andrew was informative and entertaining, my only criticism was: too much pasta for the meal. The pasta and sauces were all delicious, but three pasta helpings for the entree was too much (could have used a protein dish or more salad). Well worth taking this class to learn from the master, to enjoy the camaraderie of the family table setting in the courtyard and of course good food. Thanks to the whole team at Russet for many great meals and experiences.

This was a Father's Day gift for Tony. He loved it. The ambiance, the food and the service were absolutely fabulous. He said that the blend of the ingredients and the sauces was so well balanced that it was beyond compare. He shared that we will be returning. Imagine my reaction when we received the check and saw the farewell event card. We were so disappointed. It is unfortunate that such a wonderful establishment will be closing this month. Well, I guess we have to get back there ASAP.

Russet was really wonderful. The food was delicious and our server was really sweet. The ambiance was very romantic and made for a great night. We ordered the spaghetti alla chitarra to start and it was very good. I ordered the sea bass and my boyfriend got the pork chop. Everything was beyond perfect but then my boyfriend's pork chop came out and when he cut into it, it was completely raw. Inedible. A gentleman at the table next to us also had a raw pork chop. We quietly let them know, and the waitress was very gracious about it. About 15 minutes later a new piece came out and it was lovely. We were a little surprised to see there was no offer of a discount or complimentary dessert or anything like that given being served raw meat is a big of a shock, but it didn't ruin the experience. We still loved Russet and are sad that it is closing, but wish the owners the best on their next chapter! If you can go before it closes at the end of June, I highly recommend it!

I met a friend here for dinner. I'm so surprised that this restaurant is on the Philly Mag top 50. It's not that great. The food was good enough, but there wasn't anything outstanding about it. We ordered the lasagnette (sp?), beet soup with arctic char crudo, tile fish, and scallops. They were all good. But I wouldn't come back here again. Oh and we ordered the brown butter tart (I think it was), and I didn't care for that.

Always our favorite dining establishment in Philly and, for that matter, anywhere that we've dined on this planet. To be greeted by Rory at the door is quire enough to guarantee a delightful evening or, in this case, exquisite brunch. Our server, Bethany, so skilled, professional, delightful, outgoing, and engaging in conversation, made us feel so much at home. The food, the artistry in preparation, always the best anywhere in our estimation. We always return with our taste buds prepared.
