The food was very good, both my wife and I had steak, and both cuts were done perfectly. The risotto was too stiff, but very tasty. Accompaniments were good, but not exceptional. The service was excellent, very attentive staff. But the noise level was literally painful at times. I could not converse with my wife and the server had to lean in to hear my raised voice. My wife had a sound meter on her phone and the level was at over 80db sustained with peaks of 86-87db. ...and then the wedding party in the space above started. It may have been an exceptional night, but the server commented that the staff talks about the noise level. Unless I go on a slow night or they add sound baffling, I am unlikely to return to what otherwise is a very fine restaurant.
What a gem! The food was incredible!! Two of us had the Halibut special, one had salmon and the other pork chop. There was a lot of sharing; “you’ve got to try this”! My only disappointment was in the cocktails; I would have expected unusual and interesting cocktails, kind of boring. Good wine list! Our server Dan was engaging, hysterical and very efficient! I would return not only for the food but specifically to be served by him again!
Fabulous food and excellent, friendly service. The day's salad special, strawberry arugula with goat cheese and pecans, was superbly flavorful. Scallops burre blanc was prepared to absolute perfection. Enjoyed a good California chardonnay with the most delicious warm and flavorful fresh bread served with oil and balsamic for dipping. Can't wait to return and sample the rest of the menu at Russell's!
Excellent qourmey qualify food. By far the best Halibut I have ever had, moist and delicate. My wife's steak was perfect. The crab cakes appetizer and clam chowder were tops. The service was as good as the food. I highly recommend this restaurant for a memorable experience.
Russell's has always been a favorite. We have never been disappointed. 5 of us came to celebrate a birthday and a house sale closing. All 5 of our dinners were fantastic! The wine was wonderful, the appetizers great. We shared 2 desserts.... My friends that had never been here before will be coming back.
I have never had a bad meal here. I am not as close as I used to be, but I still make it a point up go for dinner.
As always another great meal. Crab cakes are killer to start. The salmon was done to perfection. The only “but” was I think they changed the way they make the bread pudding and while it still has the amazing caramel sauce, the bread was drier and not as melt in your mouth as in the past.
But still a wonderful experience.
I reserved the restaurant to celebrate the birthday. We ordered the crab cake and it was ice cold Inside. The special menu, halibut was overcooked, dry and The taste was not very good. For dessert, i asked
For the slice of cake with writing (HBD), there was no surprise. Of course, no compensation.
Consistency. Always seems to be cooked perfectly. Whatever seafood or beef.
The filet is the best ever. Everything was cooked to perfection. Birthday celebration would not be complete if we can't have dinner at Russell's. Thanks
Our, new to us, server, Rebecca, was wonderful.
We had a wonderful birthday experience. The food was excellent and the atmosphere great. The wait staff was attentive and went far beyond to make our dinner wonderful.
Eaten here several times and the last few times have been pretty lackluster. Food was just okay -- nothing special. Service was EXTREMELY slow. And the price didn't seem like it was worth it. Not sure if we will frequent this restaurant anymore.
Fabulous, as always. From the moment you’re greeted at the hostess stand until you say goodnight, you have a wonderful experience. I’ve been coming here for years & Russell’s never disappoints.
We love to go to Russells. Wonderful food, and lovely atmosphere! Our waitress was the
best! Her name is Laura, she was very attentive and made our Easter dinner very special!
We will certainly ask for Laura again.
Russell’s is our FAVORITE restaurant to go to!
Food is always AMAZING!
Lara our FAVORITE server!
Russell is the best!
Russell's is a hidden gem! The ambiance is upscale but casual and the food is amazing. Excellent service!
Russell's never fails to satisfy. We we have a hankering for a perfect steak it's the first place on our list. Their whole menu is wonderful. Service was above and beyond. Dessert was divine. Can hardly wait to come back.
This was our third time for dinner here. It has always exceeded expectations!
Always outstanding food and service at Russell's. We go back every chance we get! I wish I could remember our server's name - everyone there is great, she professionalism and excellent recommendations made it even better.
Russell's never disappoints. Always the best...never have had even a so-so meal. For the quality, this is the best priced restaurant in Seattle.
Always excellent food and service! So many good memories include Russells!
First time visitor, very impressed
Overall, a very good experience. We have enjoyed coming here every time.
Came for dinner with another couple. Waited in the bar, had to ask to be seated even though we had a rez. When seated we were in the back corner next to a large table for a little girl's bday party.
The wine list gets kudos for being almost strictly Northwest, but I would have liked to see a few old-world options too, like a French white etc...
Food was very good and the server was extremely nice, but VERY uninformed on the menu. We asked a few questions both about the food and wine which she couldn't answer. She kindly asked someone else in the back, but it was a little strange she didn't even know what type of cheese was on the appetizer plate.
Kristen is an amazing server! I have had her multiple times!
Our first time to Russell's for my husband's bday celebration. Absolutely amazing, the best filet on the planet. We will be back! Thank you!
We went for my husband’s birthday dinner. The dishes we ordered weren’t that great in comparison to other restaurant’s we’ve frequented lately. The waiter was very hospitable and friendly.
It was a wonderful experience. The seared scallops appitizer, was perfect. My husband said that the filet mignon was the best he’s ever had. The duck breast, I recommend.
The food and ambiance was absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to go again.
Always a pleasure dining at Russell's. The food, service and atmosphere is excellent. Enjoyable and fun.
Russell's has a safe menu, and while we didn't experience any dramatic mistakes in the cuisine, the chef left a lot of opportunities on the table. Our crab cakes, for example, were heavy and could have used heat from a sauce, or even something sour from a yogurt-based sauce, for balance. The smoked salmon cream sauce accompanying the mussels was a creative twist, but the dish didn't work as a cohesive plate: the dish had much more sauce, and the sauce was too thin, to add meaningfully to the mussels, which was all right because what it did add was overpowering the relatively delicate flavor of the star of the plate; the chef provided some bread to soak up the sauce, but the bread was so strongly buttered that it overpowered the sauce - all in all the dish had three great components (mussels, sauce, and bread) that were good on their own but didn't play well together. We ordered the filet, and the chef was able to handle the cook (our server asked how we would like the steak cooked, and we simply replied "properly"), providing a rare piece of high-quality meat. The double-cut pork chop was also properly cooked and flavored. The entrees, though, both suffered from too little flavor and texture diversity. The pommes puree accompanying the pork chop was good, and the mushroom risotto accompanying the filet was good, but both were very safe. Each dish came with "seasonal vegetables," which turned out to be two small carrots and a few cubes of squash, both roasted versus grilled and otherwise untreated. The pork dish was crying for an apple slaw or some brighter note, and the filet was begging for grill marks on a larger portion of vegetables to add some bitter intrigue. The ambience had a good general appeal but took no artistic risks; the target demographic is definitely the over-40 (maybe even over-50) crowd. Service was error-free but provided no unique insight into the menu (maybe there was no insight to provide since we had a very WYSIWYG experience).
Delicious as always, never disappointed at Russell’s! One of our favorite go to restaurants!
Food was tasty, ambiance ok, a bit pricey,
The restaurant owner hate children and they dont have to offer any crayons because it ruins the table-cover. If you have a children, dont go there. I was not aware of it.
Great service, great food, great people. Everything was wonderful, from the minute we walked in until we left we were made to feel wanted and valued. Recommend to everyone.
This was our first dining experience at Russell’s! We will definitely be a returning customer! The food was fabulous I would highly recommend it! 💯
Great food, with great service!
My wife had steak she said it was the best she ever had. My self I had rack of lamb so good cooked just right. Can't wait to go there again.
Had a lovely date night here with the husband. My fish was excellent and his steak was cooked perfectly. Will definitely be coming back.
Delicious food and outstanding service! Exceptional place for a fine dining experience!
