Rusconi's American Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
We dine at Rusconi's fairly regularly but didn't have the best experience this time unfortunately. I think the waiter may have forgotten to submit our order as it took a little over an hour. some menu items were out and waiter was not very attentive. We will come back as the food is great and this is not normal for them ... just disappointing.
Chef Michael has created a spectacular restaurant with the best food in the valley. My sons are vegan and he personally took the time to understand what they liked and had a custom meal created for them. The short ribs, scallops, mussels, buffalo steak, and the white truffle mac and cheese are awesome dishes. I recommend Rusconi's American Kitchen to all of my colleagues, friends, and family.
We had dinner with friends two weeks ago at Rusconi. The service and food was 5 star. The current visit was 2-3 stars at best. The place was empty, which should have been a "red flag". We arrived at 6PM and were seated outside, which was fine. We had the very same server we had the time before, which again was a good omen. We had drinks, again so far all is good. We ordered dinner at about 6:20. The food did not arrive until after 7:00, bear in mind an empty restaurant. My wife ordered the short rib dish ,which our friends ordered last time, which she tasted and loved. Her love turned to amazement because the dish served had no taste whatsoever. She ordered brussels sprouts, again because of tasting them before, and once again ,no taste. She tried to remedy the dishes by adding salt , to no avail. I informed the server that I did not want the onions on my burger, guess what? The burger had onions hidden under the cheese.Luckily , I check., because if I ate it I would have had a difficult night. It went a back to the kitchen, they said they would remake it, but the burger arrived within 3 minutes,I suspect they simply scraped off the onions and brought it back. Of course, it was cold. I wonder, if the burger returned still had the drippings and juice from the Balsamic onions. I did have a difficult evening!
We asked the server if Chef Rusconi was in the kitchen and learned the he was not. His Wife did come to our table and offer her apologies , and had deserts delivered to our table. Desserts did not change the bitter taste in our mouths. Sweets can not makeup for a totally ruined dining experience.
If Chef Rusconi does not have a line Chef that can replicate his recipes, Sham on him. Maybe he should hang a sign on the door warning customers that the nights when he is not cooking, they enter the Restaurant at their own risk. Needless to say we are very disappointed in Rusconi. We really expected and deserved better.
We were there a year or so ago and had an enjoyable experience so thought we would try it again. Have to say the size of the entre I chose did not warrant the price of the meal and everything else is ala carte. As for the guest's choice come on $14 for a burger and if you wanted fries had to pay an extra $4.? I wanted to choose some places that were featured on Check Please, a tv show that reviews valley restaurants and the portions equal the cost. But decided this was closer
The ambiance is not that special altho in fairness, the food was tasty and the service was good.
I spoke to an Ashely from there who called the next day to thank us and I wanted them to address an issue in the ladies restroom, if you are not above 5feet, then you don't get to see yourself, I found that quite odd and frustrating.
This restaurant, nestled in a large shopping center, is a real find. It looks tiny from the outside, but is a nice size once inside the door. The food is all fresh and innovative. Unusual dishes and some standard fare - all cooked to perfection. Definitely will revisit time and again.
Food was excellent... service was fair. I was with a group of friends and celebrating several individuals' birthdays. We were service two dessert which we did not request and then charged for them. We pointed this out and charges were reversed - but it was a bit odd and uncomfortable.
Overall the dining experience as good as the food was amazing!!
The server was very pleasant, efficient and helpful. The food was delicious. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and they provided a free dessert, which was yummy. We even met the chef/owner on the way out and he was very open and friendly. A very enjoyable experience.
An exceptional restaurant. We were a party of four and each of us throughly enjoyed our ordered food. We had the grilled asparagus, the baby field greens and the boneless shorts ribs as starters. Without exception all were delightful. My Wife ordered and enjoyed the roast chicken salad, I had the Special of the night ,monk fish over grits..Wow, simply out of sight. Our fourth party member ordered the burger and raved about . He happen's to be a burger expert and rated it 5 stars.
We were also had two birthday "boys" and they brought complementary chocolate bread pudding, an amazing way to end a wondered full dining experience.
Rusconi's is our fave place to go b/c the food is fresh & creative, and our dining guests always enjoy it. We love the atmosphere - it's casual, but cool - and the food is the thing. The very thing! Brian is our go-to guy for service. We come at least once a week. The specials are innovative, too. Rusconi's never disappoints.
Always enjoy Rusconi's. Salads continue to be excellent and good wine list at fair prices. First time we have seen a filet as a special and it was delicious. Hope they will keep it in the rotation and consider adding it to the regular menu.
As always, sad that they do not offer any decent bread service. Biggest flaw in an otherwise excellent restaurant.
Rusconi's does a great job. The food is outstanding with a seasonal menu and the service is excellent. You will typically see the chef / owner present and it shows. We eat there regularly as we live nearby and we are never disappointed. I have brought many friends and associates here and they have always loved it as well.
I love this restaurant -- I've been here a few times before. The food is always innovative and tasty and the service always attentive. The only negative I have about this experience was that we were charged $3 to split a salad. (I just said we were going to split it when we ordered it, I never asked it to be put on 2 separate dishes) I can understand a split charge fee if we were ordering one entree to split; however we ordered a salad, a side, 2 full entrees and wine. So there was really no need to turn a $9 salad into a $12 one.
We have been here several times and enjoy it. Two of our meals were excellent, it was the hamburg that disappointed. First is sat under the heat light where we could see it for over 5 minutes when our other two meals were being made. That was disappointing. Our other meals were however great!
This is a fabulous find.
The chef is there plating every dish under an angled mirror, so you can see each beautiful plating.
The chef/owner was previously the executive chef at The Phoenician, Lon's at Hermosa Inn and The Royal Palms.
It is a fine dining experience with Neighborhood restaurant vibe and prices.
I would highly recommend!
Four words: Phe.Nom.A.Nal!
The service was likely the best I have ever had (Fritz!!) and the food was delicious. Cheese plate was bountiful. Burrata and tomato slices with tomato sorbet...wow. Huge yum. Bison steak was perfecfly med-rare and the short ribs melted in my mouth. My niece eats only chicken and her dish did not disappoint. I made a specific point of thanking the chef and kitchen staff before leaving. Highly highly highly recommend this gem, hidden next to a Panda Express.
Our waiter Rex accommodated us three ladies with a selection of appetizers to share and amazing chocolate bread pudding to finish. Rex carved the single short rib into three equal portions thus avoiding a dispute and charmed us with his kind attention to detail.
An excellent dining experience, one we wish to repeat!
