Rusconi's American Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Our first time in Phoenix and at this restaurant. Made reservations and they wanted to sit us right next to the bathroom, when in my reservations clearly requested not to sit by the bathroom. The hostess was not happy that we asked to be moved. Moved to be sat next to the kitchen with smoke billowing out from the kitchen, guess the hood system was overwhelmed. Our server opened the door by us, to get the smoke out of the dining room. Our server Fritz, saved the night with his enthusiasm and friendliness. His knowledge and suggestions were great! We enjoyed the Chef's Board-fresh and tasty. The couple next to us had the Lamb-looked good and Scallops, so Fritz had suggested them and they were delicious. The lamb little undercooked but was plentiful and nice sides. The three large scallops were done to perfection with a great sauce. Had the suggested desserts creme brulee and was very good. This place is definitely a hopin place and we would go back again and would definitely request Fritz as the server.
We found this place on Trip Advisor as a highly ranked restaurant and the reviews were spot on. The service was great, the food was well prepared and presented, and it tasted amazing!
Being able to reserve a table on Open Table was a nice perk since we made our dining decision before the restaurant opened for the day.
Hesitated in eating here due to friends mixed reviews. New Chef and General Manager there now. Pleasant surprise the dining was a pleasant experience. The waiter Craig was professional and serviced our every eating wants and needs. Not over bearing. The food selection was terrific with evening specials. My wife ate the salmon which was cooked to her desire and beyond expectations. I had the iron flat steak cooked to my liking and wants. There service as stated was exceptional. The General Manager, Lance visited our table as well as every table that night to make sure we were satisfied with our meal. Highly recommend .
Went here for my FIL's 72nd birthday on a Saturday night. The restaurant was crowded but not overly loud. The food was amazing, the "best mussels I've ever had," according to my FIL. Great cocktails, very attentive service. Such a lovely place hiding from between a sandwich shop and Panda Express!
We just found this restaurant about 3 months ago and we love it. It has actually been here for about 4 years, not sure how we missed it.
We have also had the opportunity to join a couple of the "wine dinners" and they have been awesome. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Excellent meal! The Mac and cheese as well as the quinoa salad were delicious, although my wife thought the salad portion size could have been larger. The osso bucco was superb. The server was attentive and was very helpful in assisting us with a wine choice!
Our dinners were firt rate. I had the beef tenderoin medallions with truffle scented mac and cheese and it was heavenly. My husband had the salmon and it was perfectly prepared (we are picky since we are from the Northwest). Our companions enjoyed the cod (not a smidgen left on her plate) and while he was a little unsure about the grits with the shortribs, he ate every bite. We topped it off with the chocolate bread pudding (mine and I would not share more than one bite). Drinks were great, mojitos, with huge blackberries. A nice touch. Presentations are picture worthy.
We decided to eat here for our second time because we had such a nice time back in July for my mother-in-laws birthday. This visit was not nearly as fantastic. I think my husband and I were profiled by the server because we look young (though we're in our mid 30s and tip very well). We were celebrating my birthday, and got no special treatment what-so-ever. Pretty sure we at least received a free dessert in July... not this time. I was most disappointed the server never shared the dinner specials with us. We found out (after dessert, from the table next to us), they had Pork Osso Bucco (my favorite), and I cannot believe I missed out on my birthday! Even though what we did eat was tasty, the service was quite sub-par for the price and for my special occasion. Not sure if we'll be returning, which is a shame because I really want to like this place!
The happy hour prices for wine were great, plus being there on a Monday some bottles of wine were also half off, win! win!
We ordered a variety of appetizers off the happy hour menu. Love the goat cheese fondue and the short rib sliders. Wasn't too impressed with the cheese plate. Even though it was a good value I would pass on it the next time. Just didn't seem like it had interesting cheeses.
Service was ok, seemed a little rushed on plate clearing.
All in all, I love Rusconi's and will definitely be back!
Always a lively crowd, outstanding, knowledgeable wait staff, great food and nice wine list. Reservations taken, happily and seating is on time. Restaurant is always crowded but not so noisy that you can't enjoy your table mates. Nice touch to be greeted and thanked by Michael as we left.
Limited menu nevertheless everything outstanding. Presentation and quality always good. We have been there many times and we always bring visitors there. Would like more fish choices thought the owner said the cod is great. Not a fish I would normally select. I will try this next time I go.
I had seen Rusconi's reviewed on Check Please!, had to try it. I found their website easy to navigate and making reservations was a breeze.
I loved the ambiance of the place. My friend and I were seated with a view of the kitchen, which I found wonderful watching all the different dishes go by.
The selection of delicious sounding meals was almost overwhelming, but as I had seen a guajillo pork dish featured on Check Please!, the guajillo pork sandwich was my choice, while my friend ordered the short rib sandwich.
Both were absolutely delectable accompanied by fragrant truffle fries. The true star of the meal though was the chocolate bread pudding. Deep, rich, and definitely decadent.
Service was superb and I'm looking forward to many more visits to explore the menu in depth.
Have been there several times, but this was disappointing. The service was slow (6:45 weekday), and the waitstaff not attentive. In fact, he was almost insulted when I asked for a wine recommendation. He just put the wine list in front of me. Guess he thought we weren't worth his attention.
We have dined here a few times and have not had a bad experience yet! The food is delicious! If you come on Sunday or Monday (I think), bottles of wine are half-price (or did I dream this?) It's a cozy place, which means that sometimes you might be close to your fellow diners. The service staff is fun and friendly. It's a neighborhood gem!
Met friends for dinner and had an absolutely wonderful experience! Excellent wait staff, fabulous food, and OH! the scallops! Marinated pork chop, steak and all sides were fabulous. Decided to take part of it home so we would be able to enjoy desert and that was definitely the right decision. We went there with the intention of having scallops as the entrée, but our waiter informed us that we could add a couple of scallops to any entrée, so we did, and that is absolutely the way to go. We'll be back.
We eat at Rusoni's all the time- it is the best place in the Tatum/Shea neighborhood. Food is consistently good and the wine list offers enough options, moderately priced. Everything is good, though we focus on the arugula salad and short ribs and recommend both. Beef medallions are also great and especially the mac and cheese they are served with. If they have the tomato and burrata salad special, order it. As always, I wish they would upgrade their bread. It's okay, but not great. Requesting more fish options, please, and occasional fish specials?
