Overall great food and table service. Getting our table was delayed about 20min., but once seated the service was great (this is why I rated only good on the service). Food excellent. Definitely a very young crowd (Labor Day weekend) and very loud although this was a 9:00 reservation. There was a DJ playing etc. I would recommend the restaurant for sure and would try again earlier and less festive weekend:)

Where to begin....an unexpected surprise occurred when we found out that Tuesday was "Burger Night", and they had brought in a guest chef from a restaurant in the city to make their specialty burger, we were sold from the beginning and the rest of the experience was phenomenal, including the burger!!!! Will definitely make the hour drive to go back!

Excellent food, nice atmosphere, a great restaurant visually. Although food was slow to arrive & extremely expensive for what it was, but would definitely go again & recommend it.

I went to dinner with my husband, we had an 8pm reservation on a Friday night. Good experience overall. After 9pm it was like the floodgates opened and the bar scene errupted

Waiter tried to charge us $4 for 3 pieces of bread. Food is decent but overpriced. You're better off only going here for drinks at the bar.

i have been here plenty of summers but this time was horrible. There were dead bugs everywhere around us. The waitress was nice but had no idea about anything on the menu. And the food took so long despite only a few people in the restaurant. Definitely not as good as it used to be.

Drinks were good but on the expensive side. We were asked to order by a certain time and asked to take care of the bill in order for them to turn the table over. The restaurant was very loud with several large parties. Fun for a group and celebrating with friends.

We came especially for Tuesday burger night. The burgers were absolutely delicious. We requested bacon on our burgers but were told that that restaurant did not have bacon. The side dishes of onion rings and fries were also great. We did not drink alcohol with out meal but did notice that the drinks were on the expensive side. Overall, great meal.

Waitress was amazing. Food was good but the restaurant has major issues regarding attitude and arrogance. First, I tried like hell to get in touch to change our reservation to a later time but they don't answer the phone. We had to rush home and race to the restaurant to find it completely empty with the friendly host sitting next to the phone readying for the night. I couldn't help to think, "how about answering the phone or returning the numerous messages." Ok. So We ordered a clam pizza and, well, there were no clams!!! And the pizza was SMALL. We were then informed it was burger night. So, nothing but burgers, really small really overpriced burgers. Fries are extra. And, in our case, come after the food is half/eaten. My elderly parents picked up the bill and were mortified by how expensive. Me, personally, spend about 150k a year on dining. I'm used to this type of dining disgrace. However, it hurt knowing my parents (thinking they were picking up some burgers and fries and a pizza) had to foot almost a 300 tab.

I write to you folk, a first ever review, because places like this need to be extinct and they need to learn to lose the attitude. It's just food. You're in the service industry. Our waitress got it, sadly the others don't.

The main pasta dish was $26 and included 5 small bite sized pieces of pasta. We asked the waitress specifically if it was a normal sized portion and she said it was for one person. It was obviously an appetizer size. Our reservation time was not honored, waited 40 minutes and had to follow up regularly while others were sat to eat promoter style and other tables were empty. Hostess had an attitude. It was better in previous years.

I have never been so aggravated from the lack of "customer service" from a place in my life. I called well over 48 hours ahead of my reservation to speak with someone regarding my reservation. I had two friends flying in town from LONDON to spend the long weekend in the Hampton's over Memorial Day. I wanted to take them to Ruschmeyer's because it is one of my favorites.

The flights were postponed out of London due to the rain first thing Thursday morning, so I knew I had to change or cancel my reservation, knowing their strict $20 a head charge of missing the reservation, I wanted to ensure that my credit card would not be charged. Over the course of 48 hours, I called their 800 # listed on the site, as well as their affiliate Hotel in Brooklyn, the hotel phone number associated with the Ruschmeyer's, AND the actual restaurant number OVER 150 times. I also e-mailed them with two e-mail addresses their hotel room booking agent provided me via the 800 #, and submitted 2 forms on line for them to contact me. Nobody ever answered the phone, the calls never went to voicemail, and no emails were returned. I have yet to hear from anyone, and will never go to Ruschmeyer's again.

My friends in London have told their friends in NYC as well as London that if they go to the Hampton's to never visit here, and head straight to Surf Lodge where we were welcomed even due to the last minute timing of the Holiday Weekend.

Went early Labor Day weekend -- lovely decor and outdoor bars and Veuve was having a promo party there Friday night so yay for champagne. Definitely a scene and so loud I could hardly hear my friends across the table. Tres preppy white and 20- 30-something. Even by MTK standards its on the pricey side for good (but not amazing) food. We had the grilled shrimp and pizza and rosé and kale salad and roasted potatoes. Service was accommodating, we were seated promptly. Bottom line: go for the party.

Cool vibe- Shared a pizza and few drinks with the grilled octopus for appetizer. Food was tasty..the bread pudding French toast dessert was out of this world. The service was great!

The place was nice, the food didn't impress me.
We had the boil, which was a little to spicy in my opinion and dry. The lobster was delicious but since you are in Montauk I will like to have a little more class and not just give you a can with plastic bibs, hand towelettes that keep you hand sticky.
The wine was good, and the skewer ok.
The restaurant has appetizers and pizza, nothing more.
The dessert was good and I am not a sweet person, plus with my burning lips I needed something to calm them down.

My first trip to Ruschmeyer's in May was amazing (the tilefish dish is a delight) and prompted me to make another reservation when I was back in Montauk this past weekend. However, Ruschmeyer's had completely changed their dinner menu and the result was disastrous. I ordered the organic chicken dish and I am not kidding when I say that the plate is made up of 4 large pieces of chicken and nothing else. Nothing, nada, zilch. No vegetables, no small side, nothing but chicken. Almost ridiculous that the chef thinks that this is an appropriate dish to serve. My 2 friends ordered the monkfish and wagyu steak. While their plates had some veggies to even out the plate, the monkfish was smaller than 1 piece of my chicken and they swore that the steak was not wagyu but a simple skirt steak.

This place is not worth your time for dinner. The cocktails and ambiance are good though so definitely come here only for drinks.

I took my family to dinner at 6pm on a Sunday- we've never been there before. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very inviting. However, we were the only ones in the restaurant. Apparently, the outside deck area which I was not aware of, we more crowded. Despite being the only people in the indoor area, it took about 40 minutes to get our appetizer (a dozen oysters!!) and the waitress had no idea about any question we had- we asked if they could make plain pizza for our kids and she said she didn't think so... really??? When she checked, it was not a problem. Even though we ordered that first, took forever!! I think this is more of a place for late night and adults who want to be seen!!
