Ordered a salad-sounded so good on the menu but when it arrived it was just so-so. I feel like the quality of the food and presentation wasn't as good as usual. I'll still go back though-You can't beat the ambience and location.

Normally, I would rave about Ruscello but of late things seem to have changed. The last two times I've ordered the salmon Niçoise salad the salmon has been extremely overlooked. Apparently they changed the type of salmon (and haven't figured out how to cook it.). I gave up on that salad and switched to the shrimp, arugula and corn salad. Again, a great salad until Wednesday. Small shrimp and so much dressing the arugula had shrunk into a little puddle in the middle of the plate!! The worst part was, the manager delivered the food to out table!! I really don't know if the kitchen was slow or the server but the manager knew after 40 minutes we wanted our food!! Six months ago this review would've read completely different. Get your act together Nordstrom!

Located on the first floor, Nordstrom Ruscello was easy to find. Celebrating my birthday with my friend Judi, the special blackened Caesar Salad was delicious. Should be considered to add to menu as a daily selection. Jaime, perfectly poured Layer Cake, a lushes, bold Cab and ended my lovely luncheon with the decadent chocolate toffee cake, yummie!

Favorite causal spot to eat! Nothing beats their hummus flatbread! Everything is good there-salads, soup, pizza, pesto chicken sandwich...

Great food for being in a department store. I always order the risotto and it's right up there next to any great restaurant in the city.

We went here for dinner because it was raining heavily outside and we could park in the garage and not get wet. The steak was actually pretty good. Service was lacking and the 2.75 charge for an ice tea refill without any warning was annoying. We will likely not go again, but the food was pretty good.

Dropped in for dinner following a movie; the waitress was constantly coming to the table -- something happened in the kitchen and our food was delayed -- we were offered complimentary soup, bread or dessert for the delay -- the attention paid to us was great -- it made the delay hardly noticeable -- nice that the staff is that concerned, greatly appreciated!!

Horrible service from hostess and she was not properly dressed either. Hostess was wearing a lip ring and torn jeans. Also, her demeanor was cold and she tried to seat us at a dirty table. She told us to wait for another table. No one was concerned about cleaning our table. We ended up leaving.

There is no woman's restroom near the restaurant. On the same floor, in the men's department, there is a large men's room and a single accessible woman's room with a sign on door directing women to restrooms on second and third floor. This seems to be a very bad design flaw near a bustling restaurant predominately patronized by women.

It was a rainy night and only a few tables were occupied. Rather expensive for a place that opens to the Men's department at Nordstrom's. After dinner, we asked for a glass of wine....15 minutes later. I don't know if it was the bartender or the waiter. So many places in Oak Brook that unless you're shopping, choose differently.

Sara, our waitress was absolutely amazing. She was on point with service (not too much, not little), she had an intricate understanding of the menu as well. She was focused and well-poised, showed warmth and personality. When we return we will definitely ask for her.

We have eaten here two previous times and the previous/different waitress that took care of us was older, had a bit of a bite to her, and although cordial was loud and not very helpful. We had two simple requests and in both instances she expressed her disdain at the request. She did work to fulfill the requests but unfortunately with a somewhat sour disposition.

I am grateful that Sara showed us exemplary service, we took the time to tell her how much we appreciated her, but I would like additionally acknowledge a valued asset to your organization. Bravo!

Always good salads. The barely soup was pretty good as well. Our waitress Michelle was great. Made good suggestions and knew a lot about the specials. The fall sangria and pumpkin cupcake were both awesome. The shrimp salad was good, but a little salty. I would definitely come back! Super convenient and good for lunch!

I've been going here for a long time. Usually meeting up with girlfriends. Honestly, it's just gotten too pricy. This restaurant is not in the loop - it's in Oak Brook. Sadly, I will not go again after many years. I spent almost $ 35 for 2 sandwiches and one dessert . You are pricing yourself out of the market -- I noticed it's not as crowed as it once was...

Even though we had reservations for 6 at 12:30 we had to wait. We ended up having only 5 in our group so they gave us a booth and stuck a chair at the end. Sever came around every now and then and the food to a very long time and all of us only ordered salads. It is SO noisy in there. And even though they remodeled the store, the restaurant is in need of updates. You feel like you are in a old school cafeteria.

The noise level in the restaurant was VERY loud! It was difficult to have a conversation with a friend, and be heard over the people, and the loud background music! I like soft music in the background at a restaurant , but this wasn't soft. We were constantly repeating ourselves and it was almost annoying.
The taste food was fine, but I had a roasted vegetable salad, and a cup of coffee, and with a 20% tip, I spent $19.00. There wasn't even any protein in the salad! I felt it was overpriced for the size and ingredients. I much preferred the cafe they had several years ago!

Our server was excellent and very attentive!

Server was rude and service was terrible. I asked the server if they had odoul's, and he told me to look at the menu. Really disrespectful and uncalled for. A simple yes or no would have been appropriate. Food took way too long to finally arrive.

Before the name change, the rustic vegetables were much better seasoned. Not as flavorful and they used to cone with fresh rosemary that was roasted with them. I would recommend including that again, but overall great experience.

Good food, good price, good service. Can't go wrong.

I love Ruscello for several reasons but mainly because their food is always good and always consistent. It's a great place to stop in for lunch while shopping at Oak Brook, and it's also a great destination if you're simply in the area because the food is worth braving the mall parking lot. I love their selection of menu items and daily specials. The Cream of Mushroom soup was to die for! There is always something for lighter eaters (great salads & appetizers), those who want a more filling pasta or meat dish (their salmon is great!), and picky kids who only eat pizza and french fries will also be satisfied! The atmosphere is good for kids - open and loud enough that you can ignore them if they're being fussy. You can have a glass or wine and some apps, a cup of coffee and dessert, or a full meal. It's a great place to meet friends. The servers have always been very prompt and polite. I was there this week to meet a friend to celebrate our joint birthdays. We hadn't seen each other in a year and we ended up talking for 4 hours! They never once rushed us along or tried to get us to leave. In fact, we had to ask for the bill when we left because they were kind enough to give us our space to catch up and talk, even though the restaurant was crowded during the lunch hours. I would definitely recommend visiting Ruscello if you're in the Oak Brook area.

Ruscello took the time to review the detail of the special request I made via Open Table and that meant so much! They didn't have to do it, but they seemed so pleased to help it meant so much. The Hostess was incredibly kind and my waitress was attentive and great to interact with. The food is as great as I last remember and it was a winning experience overall.

Btw: Their after meal chocolate mints are to die for!!!! My favorite.

We are making a habit of going to Ruscello's after a movie, the food is great, the service is great, you can't go wrong eating here.
We made an 8:45 reservation only to find the store closed at 9 p.m. -- We ate in a rush so the staff could go home....but rest assured it was NOT because the server was rushing us, quite the opposite, he made us feel comfortable even though we were the last diners.
Keep up the great work, we'll be back again and again!

We had dinner at Ruscello's using an Open Table reservation. Although the restaurant was only half filled, the two of us were seated at a tiny table with the bench seat sagged out and tired dropping me to an uncomfortable level to eat. There were plenty of tables for 4 available throughout our meal so I do not understand the logic there. Our server was extremely pleasant and thorough but definitely overworked. At one point I had to ask the hostess for our bread and olive oil. Our orders were delivered perfectly and the food was superb.
Consider hiring more serving staff, but definitely as pleasant as our server is!
