Ruscello - Nordstrom Oakbrook Center Ratings and Reviews
I love Ruscello! It doesn't matter how many times I've been there the food is ALWAYS great and consistent. Having been to every restaurant in Oakbrook and the outlying area it is the one of the very best. You can always count on it for an excellent and enjoyable meal. Service is always attentive and friendly.
Nice menu. Like that you can make a reservation and are not rushed. The signature tomato basil soup was served barely warm - a real disappointment. My turkey club sandwich was excellent. Inadequate restroom facilities on the first floor (by the restaurant).
They walked us right through the front well lit area, and sat us in the back, facing a drink station and spare highchairs, low lighting. I asked to move and she said she has to be " fair" to the servers. Food was just average this time, which was a surprise. Desserts continue to disappoint.
The server was very attentive but it took nearly an hour to get our entrees. This was way too long which the server acknowledged even before we said anything. The managers solution was to give us a card for a free appetizer to use during the first two weeks of January. A better solution would have been to offer us dessert with THIS meal. Although the food was hot and tasted great, I am not sure we will return...
Nice place to eat in Nordstroms. The only issue is the women’s washroom. There is a regular men’s room but only a single “family” room for women, and today four were in line before me. Wait was over ten minutes! There is another washroom on second floor, but totally inconvenient if dining in restaurant.
Normally, I would rave about Ruscello but of late things seem to have changed. The last two times I've ordered the salmon Niçoise salad the salmon has been extremely overlooked. Apparently they changed the type of salmon (and haven't figured out how to cook it.). I gave up on that salad and switched to the shrimp, arugula and corn salad. Again, a great salad until Wednesday. Small shrimp and so much dressing the arugula had shrunk into a little puddle in the middle of the plate!! The worst part was, the manager delivered the food to out table!! I really don't know if the kitchen was slow or the server but the manager knew after 40 minutes we wanted our food!! Six months ago this review would've read completely different. Get your act together Nordstrom!
Located on the first floor, Nordstrom Ruscello was easy to find. Celebrating my birthday with my friend Judi, the special blackened Caesar Salad was delicious. Should be considered to add to menu as a daily selection. Jaime, perfectly poured Layer Cake, a lushes, bold Cab and ended my lovely luncheon with the decadent chocolate toffee cake, yummie!
We went here for dinner because it was raining heavily outside and we could park in the garage and not get wet. The steak was actually pretty good. Service was lacking and the 2.75 charge for an ice tea refill without any warning was annoying. We will likely not go again, but the food was pretty good.
Dropped in for dinner following a movie; the waitress was constantly coming to the table -- something happened in the kitchen and our food was delayed -- we were offered complimentary soup, bread or dessert for the delay -- the attention paid to us was great -- it made the delay hardly noticeable -- nice that the staff is that concerned, greatly appreciated!!
Horrible service from hostess and she was not properly dressed either. Hostess was wearing a lip ring and torn jeans. Also, her demeanor was cold and she tried to seat us at a dirty table. She told us to wait for another table. No one was concerned about cleaning our table. We ended up leaving.
There is no woman's restroom near the restaurant. On the same floor, in the men's department, there is a large men's room and a single accessible woman's room with a sign on door directing women to restrooms on second and third floor. This seems to be a very bad design flaw near a bustling restaurant predominately patronized by women.
It was a rainy night and only a few tables were occupied. Rather expensive for a place that opens to the Men's department at Nordstrom's. After dinner, we asked for a glass of wine....15 minutes later. I don't know if it was the bartender or the waiter. So many places in Oak Brook that unless you're shopping, choose differently.
Sara, our waitress was absolutely amazing. She was on point with service (not too much, not little), she had an intricate understanding of the menu as well. She was focused and well-poised, showed warmth and personality. When we return we will definitely ask for her.
We have eaten here two previous times and the previous/different waitress that took care of us was older, had a bit of a bite to her, and although cordial was loud and not very helpful. We had two simple requests and in both instances she expressed her disdain at the request. She did work to fulfill the requests but unfortunately with a somewhat sour disposition.
I am grateful that Sara showed us exemplary service, we took the time to tell her how much we appreciated her, but I would like additionally acknowledge a valued asset to your organization. Bravo!
Always good salads. The barely soup was pretty good as well. Our waitress Michelle was great. Made good suggestions and knew a lot about the specials. The fall sangria and pumpkin cupcake were both awesome. The shrimp salad was good, but a little salty. I would definitely come back! Super convenient and good for lunch!
I've been going here for a long time. Usually meeting up with girlfriends. Honestly, it's just gotten too pricy. This restaurant is not in the loop - it's in Oak Brook. Sadly, I will not go again after many years. I spent almost $ 35 for 2 sandwiches and one dessert . You are pricing yourself out of the market -- I noticed it's not as crowed as it once was...
Even though we had reservations for 6 at 12:30 we had to wait. We ended up having only 5 in our group so they gave us a booth and stuck a chair at the end. Sever came around every now and then and the food to a very long time and all of us only ordered salads. It is SO noisy in there. And even though they remodeled the store, the restaurant is in need of updates. You feel like you are in a old school cafeteria.
The noise level in the restaurant was VERY loud! It was difficult to have a conversation with a friend, and be heard over the people, and the loud background music! I like soft music in the background at a restaurant , but this wasn't soft. We were constantly repeating ourselves and it was almost annoying.
The taste food was fine, but I had a roasted vegetable salad, and a cup of coffee, and with a 20% tip, I spent $19.00. There wasn't even any protein in the salad! I felt it was overpriced for the size and ingredients. I much preferred the cafe they had several years ago!
Our server was excellent and very attentive!
