Rupert's at Hotel McCall Ratings and Reviews
Rupert's never fails to impress. We dined there for Valentine's Day, and the prix fixe menu was spectacular. We always love to see what Chef Gary Kucy is cooking up and we were treated to another delectable meal. Service was top-notch. Cocktails were delicious. Rupert's is our favorite way to enjoy a special meal in McCall.
Another wonderful meal!! Whenever we are in the area we try to dine at Rupert's. Also a very good idea to get reservations, as this restaurant has a great reputation. We dined on a Friday night which is when they have fresh seafood flown in. Their specials are always delightful and creative. We love it there!!
We have been here twice and both times we were happy with the food options. I highly recommend the fries. I know a weird choice for a nicer establishment but soooo good. Our server was great and had good recommendations. We will definitely come the next time we are in McCall.
A mediocre restaurant is one thing, but a supposedly great restaurant that treats people like this? Unacceptable.
New year's eve, and also my birthday: (1) No notice that it was a prix fixe menu. (2) Incompetent hostess seats the two of us at a table for four, then halfway through our salads informs us that they mis-seated us, would we move? Starts moving our silverware before we agreed and half-hearted apology follows. (3) Seconds after we get our salads situated at our new table, our waiter arrived with our dinners and plops our plates on our table with "Looks like we're fast tonight!" (4) Despite two mentions, no offer to help celebrate our special event. (5) We were shuffled out of there in 43 minutes from start to finish. I would have stopped to tell a manager or the hostess about our complaints, but none were to be found.
Our salads were good, steaks were fine, though honesty, overcooked. The waiter did comp a round of drinks, but only after seeing we were visibly displeased. Our meal the previous night at Steamers was AMAZING, the service was impeccable, and the manager popped by to check on us and chat. I wish we'd just gone there again.
The chef is extremely talented! We had two dinners and everything was exceptionally prepared. The duck was exquisite as was the king salmon, sea bass, lamb and of soup was lovely topped with wild rice and duck confit. Rupert's is a must for dinner in McCall.
Enjoyed a special dinner with family at Rupert’s. The service was phenomenal. The waiter went out of his way to answer our questions regarding the ingredients in the cocktails and the sources from which the meals originate. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxed, nice dinner. Perfect for a special occasion or a night out with that special someone.
My husband and I went on a date at Rupert’s while on our babymoon (pre-baby vacation). It was fantastic! Best food I’ve had in McCall. His loved his old-fashioned. He said it was the one of the best he’s had. We had the Yak Momos-so good and so different! My husband also got the duck and he said (as a duck hunter) that it was the best he’s ever had! We will be back for sure!
The ambience is warm and inviting. We loved that we could easily converse in quiet voices and be heard. The service was perfectly paced to bring each course at the right time. From appetizer to dessert, everything was delicious and well-prepared. After this experience, Rupert’s is our go-to restaurant when we want a special evening out in the McCall area.
Food was very good. My wife and I really enjoyed it. I was a little disappointed about our table. I had requested a nice table being it was my wife's 60th birthday but we ended up with a 2 person table near the back door. At least my wife had a little view out toward the lake but I got to watch all the workers. I really didn't like the non-personal way the reservations are made on line and I did try to call direct and left a message but no one answered my call so I could make special reservations in person.
