Rundle Lounge - Afternoon Tea - Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel Ratings and Reviews
I would recommend the High Tea at the Banff Springs to everyone! It was so much fun with delicious sandwiches and mini desserts . There was plenty to eat, and to top it off a wrapped cookie treat to take home. The service was fantastic. They will accommodate any dietary restrictions, like gluten intolerance etc.. just give them a heads up. Most of all, you cannot beat the view,
Where else can you sit at the sight line of the magnificent Rocky Mountains, with a view of Rundle, Tunnel, and Cascade Mountain , the most photographed Mountain in the world!
The afternoon tea was average. For the cost $50/person it should have been #1-organic and all local #2- pretty spectacular food #3-authentic afternoon tea #4- presentation eg.Dainty English bone china tea service and cutlery(existing cups looked like coffee cups)napkins and table lay out.I found the table uninspiring and poorly set.No flowers or attractive tea service.Silverware non existant. No lace table cloth. When you go to tea it should be feminine and almost whimsical and the table should be a backdrop for excellent conversations and gossip as this is what afternoon tea is truly supposed to be about.I guess thats the apt words to describe the experience is BLAH and BLAND.
We had to wait 10 minutes for our reservation that we booked way ahead of time even though the table was ready, and I booked the afternoon tea which was supposed to be $49 a person and instead we got the Christmas tea and we're charged $65/person.
However the food was really good and it was a fun experience with a beautiful view but when people pay good money to dine there, the staff should be a it more professional.
Having high tea in the Rundle Lounge was on my bucket list. My sisters and I went there for my birthday lunch. It was beautiful. The food and the tea were amazing. The table was set beautifully. The views were outstanding. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants a nice relaxing place to unwind and enjoy yourself.
Megan provided fantastic service as we overlooked the golf course and admired the view of the mountains, the light changing every few minutes for a new take on a familiar view. The tea was delicious, the food presented wonderfully, and the experience completely and utterly relaxing. We cannot wait to return!
Was disappointed that I made res in advance and still waited 45 mins for food. Was told kitchen was behind, there were other's that came in after us and were served before we were.
Not happy that we had res and not a walk in that they were served before us. Won't do this again.
I went with my mom for her 70th birthday and we loved it. The food was very filling and I loved that we could take what we couldn't finish home. They could make a few improvements though. It would be nice if they had all the selections. I loved the scones and sandwiches. I liked that there was a variety of deserts, but would prefer different deserts than what was served. The view was amazing and such a beautiful hotel. I would recommend this to friends and look forward to trying this again.
Beautiful view and great food. My wife and I enjoyed the tea. She had the tea of the day (cucumber and melon) and I had the creamy Earl grey. We liked the tea so much we bought a box of the Earl grey afterwards. Our server Ankit was great as well. Made our birthday celebration even more special.
The view is amazing, the service very good and the Fairmont hotel worth a visit. We enjoyed the High Tea and even brought our 12-month old with us. The food may not seem much at first, but I'm glad we came hungry because these little bite sized foods really fill you up!
The value is questionable, as you don't get much for your money, but then again you're also paying for the location. The only things that could have been improved where the cleanliness of the floor (there were old cheese bits and crumbs of all sorts lying around on the carpeted floors) and the lack of a baby changing facility. I ended up changing our son next to the sink in one of the bathrooms, which was uncomfortable and a little dangerous. Overall, however, we had a very pleasant experience!
Excellent high tea service and enjoyable afternoon for a family catchup, slight discrepancy with online pricing and price on arrival, which Chris Symes (GENERAL MANAGER RUNDLE LOUNGE & GRAPES WINE BAR) was quick to respond to and act on, ensuring that our experience remained memorable, thank you Chris and Banff Springs Hotel!
Delicious high tea with amazing views over the snow capped mountains.
The scones, savoury sandwiches, quiche, croissants, and the enormous assortment of sweet pastries and cakes was just wonderful. We would always prefer to have more of a savoury selection, but we are possibly the ones "out of step" here as all high teas seem to be "top heavy" with the sweet selection.
This was a lovely thing to do but booking is highly advisable as it's very popular.
My friend Dorelle and I travelled from Brisbane, Australia to celebrate her birthday with you in the Rundle Lounge Afternoon Tea and we were well impressed. We had a window side table to soak in that wonderful view. We had the Champange Afternoon Tea and I was surprised that our pots of tea arrived before the champagne and cheese boards and our tea had cooled off by the time we wanted to have our cups of tea. When we had Afternoon Tea at The Ritz in London, just the one pot of tea was supplied and refreshed with a new pot when that one was finished, this kept the tea hot.
