Rumor Mill in Friday Harbor is one of those places you can go to when you want to feel good about every part of your experience. With a dedication to being as green as possible, ingredients are locally sourced and the menu includes vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan items.
Special touches at Rumor Mill like filtered drinking water, recycling wine bottles and composting food scraps go on behind the scenes while the use of cloth tablecloths and napkins visibly shows the commitment to environmental concerns. So enjoy your organic mixed green salad, natural Oregon country beef burger or local ground lamb patty knowing the planet thanks you. After dinner, enjoy the no-cover-charge live music and dance the night away at Rumor Mill.
The food was good and the service was adequate. But beware, we were there before the live music started. It is clear from the furnishings that the music component is important to the restaurant and I can certainly imagine it getting a tad loud once the music and dancing starts (depending, of course, on the music that particular night). So if you want to enjoy a quiet dinner, I recommend getting there early.
No music playing as was advertised. Disappointed with our server.
Had a great time and the food was good! The band that was scheduled to play was really awesome. Overall we would return again!
The menu had wide variety of unique dishes. Our table ordered Greek, barbecue, Caribbean an good ol' fish and chips, all were very good. we enjoyed the music, especially Joe.
We went for valentines day. The restaurant was wonderfully decorated. The food was good but uninspired and an average men
The music was great, which is the reason I went there. The food wasn't so good, though the salad appetizer was fresh and nice. The apple blueberry crisp at dessert was good. Dinner itself was extremely salty and the vegetables were drowned in salty sauce. Soup was too spicy for my mother and not terribly warm. They aren't known for their food but having live music was great!
The food here is great. A nice range from pub food to foodie food, with a lot of local high-quality sourcing that is important to us. We went on a night when live music was scheduled. There was some problem with the scheduled players, so a group of local musicians gathered together for an impromptu performance and were amazingly good. This is part of the local character of Friday Harbor and we enjoyed our evening very much.
The fish and chips are some of the best I've ever bad
Food was really amazing! Live music almost every night! Great place to go!
Most had a great dinner I had the greek plate the souvlaki was a bit on the chewy side, the Greek Salad was really good, the pizza was great and the pork sandwich I was told was very good.
