Food was good, atmosphere was great, service was great and surprisingly fast
we have been there before and returned and yes would tell others.
WOW.... Just Awesome.....
The Parmesan-crusted grouper was excellent but the sides accompanying it were very bland.
We ate here three times during our five-nite stay in St. Pete's Beach. Really lovely seafood, expertly prepared with very precise details. Not one dish fell flat.
I especially appreciated the low-key-ness of the room. The aquarium room is nice and quiet! If you want energy and action, head to the bar/lounge. It's great to have options.
The food was absolutely horrible and the portion sizes were insane for the price. Definitely a tourist place
Best meal and incredible service.
Brittany and all the staff were so attentive. They were so through with our food allergies .
Thank you Rum Fish!
Define Tourist Trap. Way overpriced for what you get. After we told the server our chicken was rock hard we were told " the kitchen has good days and they have bad days. For an average of $30 a plate, everyday should be a good day.
Service was good but food only average for the price.
The restaurant is fine but I don't know why it has received such glowing reviews on Trip Advisor and other places. The best part is the fish tank done by the men of the show Tanked. Nothing else was particularly notable and I think there are many 4 and 5 star restaurants in the St. Pete area that are superior to this restaurant.
Overall the meal was delicious. The grouper was a little salty but everything else was great. The price is a little high but the atmosphere makes up for it. Very nice time had by all.
This is a very nice restaurant but our visit coincided with a large table of children, assuming some kind of birthday party. Although this doesn’t seem like an appropriate venue for a kids party, when they occur, would be nice if they could be separated from the rest of the adult diners since it ruins the ambiance and greatly affects the noise level. Food was excellent but swordfish was a very small portion for the price. Great service by our waitress and others.
The Parmesan Grouper was amazing with great texture and cooked to perfection. Ambience that is relaxing for a perfect dining experience with your spouse.
Emilio was awesome. Wonderful food with spectacular desserts. Would recommend to all our family and friends traveling to the St Pete beach area.
Great service. Great food.
Drinks were horrible but food was great.
Great appetizers over priced entrees
Well you can’t complain about the HUGE primary fish tank, and smaller aquariums. Kids will love, love, love it! Menus that light up when opened, special feature I have never seen anywhere. Despite my best attempts I never get seated near the giant tank, tried 4x times. Food was B grade average, somewhat small fish portions served. Upon entering this restaurant complex, you walk through at sea themed merchandise area. Also in this area is a lady pitching timeshares or something, not aggressively, just annoying. Separate bar area that looks fun, not part of main restaurant. Live entertainment often in this area. Parking can be tight in private lot, but I always get a spot. I like this place for special family occasions only.
We took our two young grandchildren. They loved the aquarium. The kids meals came quickly and were good. Service was fine and friendly. The negative was that the adult meals didn’t have much taste. I might go again with small kids for the entertainment value but I would get a hamburger or something simple.
We were seated promptly, but that was the end of anything else happening in a timely fashion. We were given menus, then waited about 10 minutes before a waitress came to take a drink order. My husband and I ordered straight vodka and my mother ordered the specialty cocktail, Lower Manhattan. We again waited about 10 minutes before the vodkas arrived. The manhattan did not. We gave the waitress the order for an appetizer, side salad and entree. 15 minutes later, we were again asking about the manhattan, which still didn't arrive. We were told that it had to be made at the main bar, hence the wait. In the meantime, the side salad came before the appetizer. We finally flagged down the waitress for the manhattan and the appetizer, the crab cake. Crab cake came (one) and was warm and mushy, not crispy on the outside and firmer on the inside. We just got a shrug of the shoulders from the waitress when we addressed the issue. The main courses came next. Grouper ($35) was positively tasteless. Cioppino was overpowered by a deep red sauce. The swordfish was a very small portion on a bed of rice; also without much flavor. I was very disappointed since Tradewinds has such a good reputation; but the dinner was exceptionally bland. It was a nice setting; the fishtank is very festive. It was an early dinner (5:30), so the place was packed with seniors and families with kids, yet it was not overly loud. So many things could have gone right, but the service and food were all wrong. A nice ambience doesn't make up for poor service or food quality. The staff did finally comp the manhattan since it came halfway through dinner, but it was too little, too late. I will say the outside bar with the band would have been a better choice, since it seems the bartender there was keeping up with the drinks.
It was very good , the waiter ( Emilio ) was very thorough explaining every dish . Did an excellent job !!! Definitely coming back
One waitress refused to assist us when we asked for silverware. Restaurant was not busy. My entree was good but my colleagues were disappointed. A waitress should never comment to contact “our waitress” for assistance. She was rude and a floating floor staff member.
Food was amazing. Very busy restaurant. The waiters were attentive, but we did have to ask for water. Would definitely return.
Food was delicious and service was attentive. The aquarium is beautiful
This place has a great atmosphere and awesome appetizers. Highly recommend the crab cakes
$45 for sea bass was way overpriced. My grouper was good but did not need a crust. Locals like fish grilled, blackened, sautéed. The only offerings for fish were all with crusts and sauces. Offer catch of the day without all the toppings. True fish lovers will be happier.
Food was mediocre for the price. Service was friendly and efficient. Liked the decor
Christmas dinner with my mother. Savannah was a great waitress and the food was delicious.
Definitely visit their awesome indoor aquarium. Our kids loved it.
food was good and service was great. I very much enjoyed my visit
James was an excellent waiter. Alex helped him out and was very good as well. Great time!
Really amazing food, and the super big aquarium makes it a special place!
Such a relaxing experience to sit and eat by the tank. Service was awesome, food was worth the money!
We were four women having a holiday luncheon. We had a welcoming greeting at the door. The food was excellent, the service not so much. The server had a problem serving the correct drink to the correct person. Soooo, we're off to a fair start. The menu items were served correctly. We tend to sit and linger and talk. The server made it clear that Rumfish closes at 2 pm and suggested the bar happy hour option for future visits. (Maybe there won't be any, maybe that is why there were so few patrons.) However, it seems to me that the 2 pm hour is the cut off for orders, not the time to sweep patrons out. Our table's total was close to $200 and I don't know how much the others tipped, but I left $9 (cash).
We shared the grouper sandwich, we thought was excellent, and the crab cake sandwich, we found it good not great. My sister loved the sweet potato fries. My Thai peanut slaw had a nice nutty flavor, but the cabbage was old and wilted. I would have sent it back but my sister hates complaining and we were celebrating her birthday. The dessert was yummy of course! The server was nice and polite, just not outstanding.
Loved the beautiful aquarium. The food was just so so. Service was excellent. We’ll come back because of the aquarium but if they get the food poppin this place would be amazing.
Great. Enjoyed the experience. Our server was great. My wife was surprised when our server wished her happy anniversary when we sat down. Nice touch.
The RumFish grill, was lovely until our waitress arrived. The host stand was extremely helpful. But it took our waitress about 10 minutes to even acknowledge us, and even after that you could tell she was just miserable with her job and didn’t want to be there. Such a shame, my boyfriend and I are fish tank enthusiasts and came down to St. Pete’s for my 30th birthday to have dinner next to your beautiful fish tank! - I made reservations, and noted those notes. Everything was amazing expect for the service, and when it comes to eating out at restaurant for a special occasion it is usually the service, rather than the food that can make or break your experience.
The lobster ravioli and shrimp and grits were both very tasty. Portions were a little small. Service was excellent. The ambiance was very nice to sit by the large aquarium.
Good food in a unique environment. Very enjoyable.
