Fantastic service!!! Great staff from hostess all the way to individuals bussing the tables. Our waiter was exceptional!
Adam the food server was outstanding!
The food and drinks were excellent as well. Steaks are amazing here. But the real gem is the service provided by Adam.

Taking Rugby Grille off my dining list. Last I was there with a friend and my daughter. When I arrived one of the 3 people at the hostess stand was on the phone and didn’t bother acknowledging me and the other 2 were talking. I waited a few minutes and then asked the 2 chatting if they could get my table. We ordered a salad and it was sandy but our server Alex brought us a new one and handled the situation well. This last visit yesterday was just terrible. We waited over 10 minutes for 2 manhattans and the waitress; Jessica brought us straight whiskey so we sent those back, no apology for the wait or the wrong drinks but we did get Manhattans in the end. I ordered their brick chicken and it was so dry that I couldn’t eat it. No apology from Jessica, she did ask if I wanted more jus, lol. And then she started telling me that it’s sous vide, that’s fine, I’ve sous vide chicken for 7 years and it’s great. Theirs is not, theirs is dry. My husband had a lunch meeting booked there this week which he canceled as a result. It’s very unfortunate, I use to love the Rugby Grille. Food quality is way down, service depends on who you get.
Lovely, lovely setting! Service could have been a little bit better but all in all it was a wonderful evening.
Great service and experience on a beautiful day to eat outside!
We went to celebrate our anniversary. Have been for lunch but never for dinner. Service was excellent. Dinner was pretty good. I thought it was very overpriced for what we had. I don’t mind spending money on food but it was just okay.
The overall service was very good. The server was consistently available. The food was excellent.
Our Server Noah was Outstanding. Would definitely come back again
Perfect, as always!
Always great. My favorite spot for a business related breakfast meeting.
Hostess was unhelpful and said they were full all day.. Luckily I thought of open table as we were walking around in rain.. looking for a dining location! We were seated earlier than booked and the ambiance was nice....But we ordered a vegetable bowl and added beef... the veges were soooo soggy and drenched with sauce... the broc looked and tasted Ike soggy kale....this was ordered on Recommendation from server!! This was a special outing.. it took us an hour to get here and it was not a great experience!! :(
The initial server was not friendly, accommodating nor was she courteous! The servers changed and it did get better.
Great food, reasonable brunch prices, accommodating service by the management and wait staff. Perhaps due to occupancy limits during the pandemic, they offered us a table in the lobby which we refused. They then set-up another table for 6 inside the restaurant. Overall, it was a good time.
My go to spot for when a business meeting is paired with a meal or a beverage. The food, beverages, service and setting is always first class.
Service from Adam was stellar! He listened to our concerns regarding our preference for a slow pace. Both my partner and I had the Thai gazpacho. It was excellent... fresh, light, both a little sweet and just a touch of heat. (I actually prefer a little more heat). Mallory (not sure of her role... she was everywhere!) was very kind and welcoming and checked on us frequently. We shared a whole branzino and an order of crab coquettes. The crab was more like a crab cake... not bready at all, very tasty. There's a reason why the Townsend and Rugby Grille is rated as highly as it is.... FYI: I had 2 complaints 1) no more foie gras!!! 2) too many patrons were super casual. The diner next to me had a wrinkled white T shirt on, raggedly jeans, white socks and tennis shoes. Someone at the bar near us had hiking shorts, at tshirt and a hoodie.... SOME dress code is needed!
we were so disappointed in the menu for our girlfriends lunch.....
We were in the extended dining area which was lovely just not as nice as main dining room
Had a breakfast meeting and I couldn’t ask for a better spot to close the deal. Service was above par. No complaints.
So sad you don’t have the hydro Bibb salad anymore!
Service and atmosphere, and valet service were very good. Somewhat disappointed with my food, especially for what I paid. I would be willing to give another try as I'm sure other menu options would more than satisfy.
The service was and is always very good. The food is excellent!
Basically ignored at our table. Entre salads came with no dressing applies or provided Had to ask twice for most things. Chicken was all bone very little meat. They will not compete if the keep this up.
I absolutely love the Rugby Grille but this wasn't the best experience. We sat outside on a windy cool night, but it took ten to fifteen minutes to even get the heat lamps set up. They worked okay but not great but that was probably due to the windy conditions.
We both had the Sea Bass and it wasn't the typical wonderful. Just seemed a little off.
The service was great as always however it was weird we had three different people coming after asking about dessert.
Went for Brunch. Great food and super service. Upscale setting and food that comes with reasonably expected pricing. Good variety on the menu. I'd be back again.
This restaurant is located inside hotel; set up is very nice; service was excellent.
Brunch food was amazing, service was fantastic nice servers, would recommend and would come again
What a prime space located in a lovely, upscale hotel! One would think the food, service and attention to detail and COVID precautions would be outstanding, but alas that is not what i found on the day i visited with a dear friend.... We made reservations and were seated in a booth in the bar room. Only one other couple was there when we arrived for lunch, but within minutes the room FILLED with tables of 6 or more talking loudly. THAT was uncomfortable for we two, for whom it had been our first outing.
The waiter dropped a menu off and inquired what beverages we wanted without offering a beverage menu. He quickly (within less than 5 minutes) returned and wanted to know what we selected to eat. The experience felt rushed.
We each drank a decidedly small glass of overpriced, but good wine. My Caesar salad at $16 was served in a very small dish with uninteresting over-mayonnaised dressing and no anchovies. In essence it was nothing more than a side salad. My colleague paid nearly $25 for an omelet with bacon. Too much, considering the lack of quality or creativity.
The space is lovely. The restroom was clean, however the bar area felt uncomfortable crowded during our meal. All in all, i have dined here for many years. Pandemic Time has definitely taken its toll on the quality and price point though.
Not what it used to be. Rugby used to be the top of the line in dining. It was a place of class and only the best service. The food is good but prices are high. Server not what you would expect for an expensive dinner. Rugby better up their game because there are way too many other choices. Dined in the hallway and watched the cleaning crew roll their carts back and forth. No need to go back for awhile.
Food and service was outstanding! Adam was an excellent server and took very good care of us.
Always great service, food and professional ambience. It's my place to go for a meal based business meeting.
Always great food but I could tell their staff was stressed ...seems they have inadequate manpower. Had to wait foe table to be bussed, then set but once that happened service was great! Would have been nice if mgr came over to apologise for delay given we had a reservation.
The best in town! A wonderfully classy experience with a chef that never disappoints.
We LOVE the Rugby Grill. It is in the top of our list for birthdays, and other special holidays or occasions.
So nice!!! The Service was great and never have an empty drink. Food was excellent and filling. Will be going back soon.
We enjoyed the warm sunny spring afternoon with a refreshing beverage on the Rugby Grill patio. It was the perfect setting for an informal business conversation. Always great!
Disappointed in the food this time. Service was slow.
Overall, it was an excellent meal with outstanding service. It's VERY expensive (more than pretty much any other comparable restaurant in town), but it is a great meal.
We had a lovely dinner, although we added the French onion soup and were disappointed with the broth to onion ratio, there were far too many onions in our opinion
