Rugby Grille Ratings and Reviews
Usually pretty good service but this time we waited for several minutes to get a waiter to serve us and I finally had to get up and ask the hostess if she could find whoever our waiter is. I also asked for no raisins in the granola/yogurt dish I had ordered for breakfast. The waiter came back to say they couldn't accommodate that. I was really surprised they couldn't just take the time to handpick out the raisins. What would it have taken, maybe a minute to do that? So, pretty disappointing for a place like The Townsend. Strange.
What a delightful and elegant Sunday brunch I shared with my daughter at the Rugby Grill for her 20th birthday. The restaurant went to special trouble to make her day delightful. From the rose petals on the table and the well wishes card to the delicious torte cake with candle, the entire meal was fantastic. I highly recommend the fruit platter as well as the cheese platter. Overall, we had a wonderful time and plan to come back again in the near future. Thank you Rugby Grill for the great experience.
I have been coming to this Resturant for many years now. Both my friend and I were very disappointed this time. First, our favorite server was not there, Jose made our experience wonderful! Our new server was nice, but not like Jose was. Second, the policy's of the Resturant have changed. You used to have your bread basket included with your meal, now it is not. The price for this is now $11.00. When we first started coming, this bread basket had wonderful pastries and rolls that were full size and were free. Now as I said, not free, not as good, and tiny in size. Third, we just had coffee, both had two poached eggs, and a side of meat (bacon and ham). The price was $44.00! Really? I realize the costs have gone up, but this is now out of sight. We decided that was the last time for us to eat there. It's one thing to have a elegant and tasteful Resturant, which is known for great food, and great service. Willing to pay for that. However, no matter how much money one has, you just don't throw it away on outlandish prices, for ordinary food. They also took away their chocolate molten birthday dessert. Now you receive a choice of their regular desserts. We feel sad about this, but will not pay so much money for something you can get at regular restaurants.
Had a reservation at 9:45 and was running about 15 minutes late, so I called them and they told me that was fine. The place closes at 12 and there was nothing specifying that entree's end at 10. We were seated at 10:05 and we weren't allowed to order an entree. The server was nice but the restaurant ruined a birthday dinner because of their lack of explanation in their hours online. Will not return here again and I suggest you go before 10 if you do go there to avoid the same trouble
We celebrated my wife's' birthday at the Rugby Grill and it was excellent. There was a birthday card on our table, fresh flowers and rose petals to greet us as we were seated. Our server, Jessica was very attentive and helpful. Knowledgeable, charming and personable, she is one of the best in her field we have encountered.
And, the steaks were cooked to perfection.and the wine list offers many choices. This is a first class dining experience and if you visit, save room for the Signature Chocolate Cake. It is with the calories
The food had a very exotic, gourmet feel. I My mother loved the food. It was good, but many items curiously included e loose egg as a coating or topping. Overall, it had the effect of a grand experience of luxury at a reasonable price. My mother really enjoyed it, so that was a winner since it was Mother's Day. The service was excellent. The waiter was attentive to the point of anticipating our needs and questions so it was worth the price.
In the past we have loved going to rugby Grille . The service was always exceptional ambience was cozy and relaxing and we would all have a really enjoyable dinner . The last two visits have been very different. Both times we had servers who just were not good. They didn't have the experience you would expect at a restaurant with those prices didn't introduce themselves or listen to anything you had to say missed half our order it was really bad very rushed and poor . Both times we spoke to the manager he pretended he cared but did absolutely nothing. Sadly I think we're going to have to check this one off the list until there are major changes in the dining room . Our most recent experience was this past Saturday night our friends were there as well and also had a very poor experience.
We have dined at Rugby Grill for a long time. It is one of our favorite dining establishments.
The food is always good, as is the drink and wine. Our waiter knows what we would like to drink with our selection of food. It is definitely worth the money we pay for a wonderful evening.
Always great and love their chopped salad and Rugby burger. Hummers and cocktails and beautiful glassware, feel like I am in NYC.
They just introduced a new menu with some great items. I had their seafood pasta and a friend had their crabcake sandwich. #todiefor
