Great breakfast, fabulous service! Serene and I am always happy to have a meal here.

We love the Rugby Grille. Perfect for brunch or dinner and stroll around Birmingham. Besides the wonderful food and comfortable, upscale setting, the staff is the absolute best anywhere. We love Manny and Jeff!

Long time Rugby Grill customers: went for a quick drink after the COVID reopen. We were seated in the main dining area: 5 other tables open. Happy with the professionalism of the staff. Food was great, drinks were perfect. Staff had to educate many customers on wearing masks. Happy to see the safety protocols being used.

Hosting friend’s bday.

We made a reservation for dinner on Friday at 6:00. This was very early on for everyone with the re-opening of restaurants following the COVID shutdown. When we arrived we were the first guests for the evening and the entire restaurant was empty. So when we were offered what I considered to be the least desirable table in the restaurant, I asked if we could sit in the bar area. Apparently those were 'all reserved'. Since we also had a reservation, I was not sure of the distinction. So we had to sit in what I consider the 'hallway' area but were able at least to get a table away from the hostess stand. I ordered the French Dip and the meat was so tough it was difficult to cut and even harder to eat. I should have sent it back in hindsight. My husband's burger was excellent. This is not the first time we have had mixed results at this restaurant. There are plenty of other choices currently open in Birmingham and I will make another choice next time.

Great brunch menu. Party of five. We all ordered something different and each selection was beautifully presented and delicious. Service was outstanding. Will return again soon.

A great experience as usual- service and food were both outstanding. We really enjoyed the Caesar salad prepared table side, and the seafood americaine.

Great restaurant and service! Also, very customer oriented. Our waiter, Alex, went above and beyond to make sure they can provide vegan options and that we can make different food substitutions to fit our needs. Spent a lovely dinner there and will definitely go again!

Enjoyed the meal, but we were seated outside the restaurant in a little alcove near a door to the outside. It was very chilly in this spot.

The food is mediocre and highly overpriced. With current options around metro Detroit this place doesn’t stand a chance even as an average hotel restaurant let alone a fine dining $$$$ restaurant

Anthony was very attentive and made good suggestions for menu items. Sea Bass was excellent. The mushroom ravioli appetizer was no more than a couple of bites, but very good. Ambiance was quiet and pleasant, perfect for having conversation. Table seated right after us were offered an amuse bouche, which we were not, so there was a little inconsistency. We did have a $60 earned dining reward through OpenTable which the manager did not want to accept because she could not run it through their machine. I had to insist that if they were going to be part of OpenTable that they would have to figure out a way to accept the reward as it had been issued specifically for their restaurant that night. After a wait our server finally came with the bill showing a deduction of $60 so I don't know if she figured it out or simply adjusted the bill. This is probably something the restaurant needs to address to ensure other customers are not inconvenienced. Otherwise, this is a favorite restaurant for my husband and I for consistently good food and service.

The NY strip melted in your mouth. Shrimp cocktail consisting of large prawns were to die for. Service was excellent. Best restaurant in Metro DETROIT!

We celebrated my daughter’s birthday . Much to our surprise they had sprinkled rose petals all over the table for her and even had a card. This made her feel more special than she already is. Our server, Jessica, was a true delight! Jessica made some incredible recommendations on a cheese board, Dover Sole and an amazing Bolognese. As a final treat they provided a chocolate soufflé with ice cream. The whole event was beyond great!

Fish tasted fishy.

The presentation on the meals were very nice but the meals lacked flavor and character for the prices. Scallops and fish well cooked but had little to no flavor. I expected significantly more from a high restaurant of this caliber.

We have celebrated our wedding anniversary at Rugby Grill this year and in many years past
as the ambience is elegant and the food excellent. My son and I had the sea bass which was
the best I've had, aside from one that I make at home. My wife had the "Seafood Americaine"
which she relished. Gratefully, Rugby Grill offers a quiet setting to enjoy a meal. The menu is
pricier than in years past.

Service was outstanding. The food and wine were spectacular.

Everything was perfect. Waited for 5 minutes for a table by the fireplace instead of colder hall- very thoughtful!, water ASAP. Jessica was our waitress - good recommendations, great service. Highly recommend Rugby Grill

Great food, fine service, the wine choice was excellent but a little pricy.

It's my go to stop for business breakfasts. It's also great for business lunch. The chicken salad sandwich is excellent! Highly recommended.

Fire alarm went off for a very long time.. The staff didn't apologize. It was very disturbing and disappointing. In a place like the rugby I think they could have handled the situation better..

It was great!

Terrible service. Waiter brought me the wrong salad after we discussed what the salad was in detail. It took 20 minutes - no exaggeration- to bring the new salad. No apology - manager never came over. I took my friend there for her birthday, never again.

Outstanding service and ambiance. Menue selection is excellent. Menu selection and pricing have recently changed. The most disappointing is what the Rugby Grille has been known for since established, the Whole Dover Sole fish. It's now almost 1/2 the size, and to make it look as big as before, the plate was changed to the standard round. Certainly not worth the $62. What's also interesting is the servers now push to order more items. Dinner for 2 not including drinks was around $200, now expect $250 plus. Sunday brunch is still as great as before.

Wow! Such a Very special weekend away Celebrating my husbands 41st Birthday at the Townsend Hotel first time visit to both Townsend Hotel & the Rugby Grill. We ate just about every meal we could the 3 days we were present! we just can’t say enough about the restaurants Staff. But one who stood out goes by the name Jeffery! He is the most professional, sweetest caring and most gracious server we’ve ever experienced. His smile alone lit up our world we had unexpectedly just lost our 13yr old furbaby the night before and Having the pleasure of having him along side our meals Was a huge part of My favorite memories with my husband. Both morning breakfast visits were our favorite times in restaurant. I highly recommend the Avocado toast, Pork Sausage links and of course the Beignet Trio
