Rudy's Redeye Grill Ratings and Reviews
The Blue Bistro salad is something I often get, but this night the dressing was on so heavy that it was inedible. I had to send it back and asked for the dressing on the side. My husband's chicken parmesan was just so-so. We will be back but we will both be ordering something different.
The food and cocktails were excellent as always. Levi was our server and he was very good at his job. Very attentive but didn't bother us to order as we asked him to give us time to converse, didn't seem put out that we occupied his section for 3 hours either, very friendly young man...
Seems to be a very popular place in the community. The food was pretty good. Don’t come for any kind of conversation where you can hear each other on a Friday night. The restaurant is packed tightly in with tables and very very loud! Pls educate your staff on what gluten free means.
This was our first visit to Rudy's and I know we will go back! The food was great with generous
portions and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our waitress was able to answer all of our menu questions and had helpful suggestions. We went early evening on a Tuesday night and the place was packed! That was a pretty good indicator to us that people like going there.
Almost everything on the separate gluten free menu said it was served "plain." That was true for my entrée and vegetable. The stuffed chicken had absolutely no seasoning, not even salt or pepper. The steamed beans were seriously under cooked and contained not a drop of butter or seasonings compared to the non gluten free beans my husband had which were cooked in olive oil and seasoned with some sort of garlic sesame mixture. All of the steaks on the gluten free menu were only served "plain" also. Apparently, this restaurant does not know how to create any seasonings that do not contain soy(wheat) sauce so they just leave out all seasonings.
Had a full meal with appetizers, salad, drinks and a fantastic steak dinner. The martini's were huge! They have a great menu selection and our steaks were beautifully prepared and perfectly seasoned. It was a pleasant surprise to see that the steaks came with two sides for a great price. The salads are a la carte, however, they are quite large and great to split. We'd love to go back any time!
My husband, son and friend had diner here before sending my son back to college. We had a table for four in the dining room. It was a rainy Friday night, so the dining room was full. The noise level was more than I like. It was difficult to have a conversation. The food was okay. The salads (house and Caesar) were good - very fresh ingredients. Three of us had pasta and one had mozzarella stuffed chicken. My ravioli was overcooked and drowning in cream sauce. The desserts - creme brulee and lava cake were good. My glass of Pinot Noir from the wine list was good and reasonably priced. The server was friendly and efficient.
It might have been beneficial that it was a beautiful, sunny, not windy later afternoon/evening...but the atmosphere and ambiance were great, too, for a birthday celebration. Although close to busy highway the elevation (thirds story) and greenery absorbed the sound very well. Food was just fine and the wait staff was excellent.
In the past has been my favorite place the last few times it hasn't been quite as good as it used to be I don't know if there are different chefs or different food distributors. Even though the tuna appeared rare it was a bit dry, this has been twice in a row I also enjoy the New Orleans shrimp in kind of a spicy butter sauce, it's very inconsistent with the pieces of thin toast that come with it however. I get it every other time I order it and the days that I don't get it the server seems completely baffled that I even asked for it and says that it's not at their restaurant it must be somewhere else. I've been to Rudy's enough time to know what and when I ordered something, I will probably give it one more try and then I might have to find a new favorite place
Definitely would get there early to get a roof-top table. The restaurant downstairs takes reservations and looks like a typical dinner club dining experience. We canceled our reservation downstairs and opted to come early and try to get a table on the roof (no reservations for roof-top). It was a nice place for summer time dining. The drinks are generous (although pretty weak) and the food is good- fairly typical american dining. Great service.
Quiet night, wife had the walleye, she loved it,
I had the bone in ribeye...the bone was 1/4", the amount of fat and tougher than normal sections was Un acceptable, not happy for the money paid. Server was a little slow, needed to visit more. Was a one time for me.
