Rudy's Hideaway Ratings and Reviews
Rudy’s is an all time favorite restaurant. It’s been there a long time and the menu, meals and service never fail to please. It lives up to the reputation of being a neighborhood dining favorite, sure to please the palate and the Happy Hour cocktails are a good deal.
Very familiar with restaurant. Would be a perfect place to bring 15 out of the 200 family members at a time for a wondetful different dining experience. Food is very very good! Oh, by the way there was gentlemen sitting across from our table who looked a lot like Spencer Tracy and that gave the experience an Turner Classic Movie feel. LOL!! Loved it.
Reese was AWESOME as our waitress. She really knew the menu, and was very personable and efficient. We really enjoyed her personality! Michael was also very helpful with my reservation with my friend visiting from San Antonio, and with menu information. Food and ambiance were both perfect! Keep up the great work!!
The food was excellent, it was my son's birthday and he loves lobster so we got him a 3 lb whole lobster. It was amazing. Also it happened to be Tuesday night and the rest of us had the Prime Rib special, a generous cut, well seasoned, cooked to perfection!
My wife and I have been going to Rudy's from Lincoln, CA for 11 years. We go there 10 times a year. We love main lobster and all the food. Great value including all the fixins. The drinks are extra large. We have brought many friends and NOW it is their favorite destination.
Any time we want to celebrate something or just get the urge, it is a great place.

Rudy’s is the kind of place that brings us back to our younger years. The wait staff have been there for years. The food is what we would get when we went out for a special meal. It’s actually hard to find good steak and lobster that is perfectly prepared without being over charged. It’s a gem!
We greatly enjoyed our meal at Rubys. Mike, our server, was excellent and made our dining experience very enjoyable. We had the lobster bisque and it was great. It riveled bisquecwe had on our recent trip to Maine. We had the seafood platter and stuffed salmon for dinner. They were also very good. The drinks we had were good and had generous portion. I highly recommend the LaCrema chardonny if you are having seafood. We also enjoyed all the metal art work by Tomas as it gave the restaurant a nice ambiance. We definately will return on our next visit to the Rancho area.
We enjoyed a delightful dinner to celebrate your son's 50th birthday. Food was great--calamari was "perfectly" cooked. Your clam chowder is so good, we always take a quart home. My son enjoyed the tasty dessert too. It's certainly worth the drive from Roseville. We'll be back!
This was our first disappointing visit to Rudy's. Typically the food is reliable if not creative or interesting. If you like lobster served in a conventional manner and fairly reasonably priced then Rudy's has been a place previously without surprises. This time the opening admonition by our journeyperson server was that the kitchen was busy. Friday night with a fairly large turnout ought not to be unexpected and something to throw the kitchenand the staff off their game- but the restaurant basically was in disarray . They were out of the 8oz tails due to some issue with the supplier on the eat coast- does Fla have lobsters? So the order was placed and the drinks were fine but presumably the bar was backed up so the three drinks came "as they were ready" each with its own riming. The appetizers came late as well. So now we are about 30 minutes into the process and waited and waited another half hour watching people come and go thinking maybe we should have asked the people leaving to open their take home boxes. So finally the food came - the "steaming vegetables" were not steaming or even warm. The lobsters were cool as were the French fries . The only item appreciably near proper temperature was the baked potato. We finished the meal and suggested to the host that the service was slow. He apoligized but the experience was a bad evening with visiting family from New York. So we will give Rudy's another chance based on prior pleasant experiences but this was very unpleasant.
