Rudy & Paco Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
Wanted a special restaurant for a special anniversary. The restaurant had good reviews so we went. It is fine dining with excellent food, service and atmosphere and is priced accordingly. We were very pleased and we'll definitely go again when the occasion warrants.
Outstanding restaurant!! Food is top quality and Service is something to write home about. Good wine selection and the owner stops by every table to see if you are satisfied. One of our favorite when in Galveston. Next door to The Grand 1894 Opera House so wonderful location.
An elegant fine dining experience, with superb service and exquisite food and fine wine. For a truly decadent appetizer I highly recommend the tempura lobster tail, which is mouthwatering. The main course of scallops in light creme sauce was the height of epicurean excellence.
Rudy and Paco's is an elegant jewel on an island of casual chaos. We never got to the wine list because they were promoting a red with a special Houston Astros logo. And the wine was incredible - can only imagine the quality of the wine list itself. Everything we ate from fried plantains to coffee and tawny port were excellent and served with quiet unobtrusive staff. This isn't for everyone, but their escargot was the best I've had outside of France. Thank god they have a dress code - business casual - or they would be overrun with loud groups dressed casually and acting that way. This is a place for people who take quality food seriously. Make reservations well in advance as the place is constantly full. We've been several times and are never disappointed. It is not a cheap joint or even a quaint Island hangout but a culinary institution that will not disappoint "foodies".
Had not been to see Rudy & Pacos for some time and was so pleased with everything. Just as I had remembered it. Wonderful food, friendly service and so many locals enjoying the place. You feel at home yet you feel like you are somewhere special. Great restaurant!
