Rudy & Paco Restaurant & Bar
Rudy & Paco is located next door to The Grand 1894 Opera House and is a great choice for pre-show dinner specials.
No shorts (men or women), hats/caps, or sleeveless shirts for men.
Fantastic!! It is a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend.
Great spot for lunch. The food and always excellent!
The food and service are always done with complete perfection! Excellent wine list and perfectly made to order cocktails! Can’t wait till our next trip back to Galveston!
Been several times but 5/20/19 was a serious off night. Took 15 minutes to get a drink after being empty for 5 minutes.
This happened twice so that’s 20 min per drink. So we are waiting on food can’t find the waiter.
For business or pleasure - always a favorite spot to eat and visit!
Great food and service. I love the serving style, a parade of servers to the table rather than 1 server with a huge tray. Shaking the martinis all the way to the table to pour. Very nice personal touches.
Our meal at Rusty and Paco was wonderful. One surprise was the deliciousness of the roasted poblano soup with chayote squash. Wow! Super flavorful and perfect for bread dipping. Our cocktails were great, as were our entrees. I had the pecan crusted snapper in brown butter with capers topped with lump crab. The hubby had a special that was grouper in a shiner bock sauce. Sooooo good! There is no doubt we will go back to this restaurant next time we are in Galveston. Oh, they also treated us to a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. We did not think we had room for dessert, but managed to eat the chocolate mousse cake because it was that good.
Absolutely wonderful experience! Becca was knowledgeable and anticipated any thing we might need. We were dining with a toddler in our company so this made alllllll the difference! Her wine recommendation was excellent and knowledge of the menu was top notch. We will definitely be back and hopefully have Becca as our server.
Awesome food, service (shout out for Becca!) and ambiance. We love R&P 🤗🤗
You will not find a better experience anywhere. This is top of the line but with the most welcoming atmosphere. The owner is a pearl in the treasure chest. Loved him and loved the food. It is a favorite.
This restaurant, along with Vargas, now rightly claims to be the best in Galveston.
Delicious food, wonderful pisco sours, and attentive but not overbearing waitstaff.
Expensive fried food. Two heavily breaded soft shell crabs for $62 ?? Wine list has some good value.
It’s our tradition, if we’re in Galveston a meal at Rudy & Paco is a requirement !!!
Always the very best
We had a late Mother’s Day lunch celebration at this restaurant. The staff went out of their way to make us feel special with their wonderful service and wonderful food.! We cannot wait to eat there again. Five star restaurant!
Everything was wonderful as always. Food was good. Service was excellent
Always wonderful! Paco really knows how to do it right- food, service and ambiance!
Amazing as always.
The food and service at Rudy & Paco Restaurant is outstanding. The personnel at Rudy & Paco make you feel as though you are a friend, not just a customer.
First time there, and the food was first rate....but the service was beyond that !!!
We will definitely be back
First impression - small inside, tables tight, HIGH noise level yet intimate in its own way. We were a party of 2 on a Wednesday and it was PACKED with seemingly large groups. This may have impacted our experience a bit - even our server acknowledged she was a bit slammed with the large tables. But I have no complaints about her! Really overall the service quite stellar. The wine list is superb and quite honestly boasts some of the best bottle prices I have ever seen in a restaurant. However, some of the dinner menu items may make up for that pricing. (I'm thinking about the Poblano soup.) But that said, I still think its a great value, and a fine dining experience although it appears the "dress code" is not really enforced. And I have to say that part was disappointing as was never getting to meet Paco himself despite the fact that he was quite visible. I would go back AND I would likely try out the sister restaurant across the street - Vargas Cut and Catch. Next time Galveston!!
Had a lovely lunch with friends. Wonderful food, attentive server. A warm and friendly atmosphere.
We celebrated my wife's birthday in Galveston. We had read reviews about Rudy & Paco, and wanted to give it a try. We were very pleasantly surprised and happy with our choice. The ambiance was wonderful, the food excellent, the service outstanding … everything was a hit. Yes, it is on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for - elegance! Paco was hands-on throughout the restaurant. From personally visiting each table to welcome the guests, to carving steaks table-side, to personal attention for my wife's birthday - couldn't ask for more. We were also impressed on how everyone at a table was served at the same time - even the large groups - a string of waiters all appeared with a plate, and on queue, delivered each guest's dinner serving. Well orchestrated and impressive. Highly recommend and we'll be back!
We always enjoy eating at Rudy 7 Paco's, especially the evenings we have reservations at the Grand for a performance.
I have one issue with the seating arrangement in the restaurant. Too many tables which obstructs efficient serving and restroom traffic. Just a suggestion. Overall a great experience every time.
We had the most peaceful and wonderful dinner. Not only is the food the best, but the service is amazing. You not only have the service of your individual waitperson, but you have the service of the whole staff. This is the one place I have found over the years that does not rush you out the door just so they can serve the next customer. We love this place.
Our first visit was to celebrate our 30th anniversary. The service was terrific, the mood was lovely and the food was delicious. We will definitely return and recommend to friends.
WORLD CLASS FOOD AND PERFECTION IS WHAT YOU GET AT RUDY AND PACOS
I have tried to make a reservation several times before, but they have been at capacity. I booked a table a week out and they did not disappoint. The food and drinks were amazing, it was our 5 year anniversary dinner the lamb and red snapper were cooked to perfection. The service is what you would expect it to be from a restaurant like this, they take pride in serving you from the time you walk in and until you leave. We will be back.
It was my birthday and my husband surprised me with a date at Rudy & Paco. I was pleasantly surprised to see the owner standing by the door welcoming people coming in. The food and the service were amazing!!! THANK YOU for making my birthday memorable.
This restaurant was an amazing find. The ambiance was wonderful, and was excellent. The seafood was fresh, and everything was cooked perfectly. The house specialties, like the empanadas, we're unique and flavorful. We will definitely be visiting again. Our party was the last to leave at the end of the night. The owner introduced himself, asked about our experience, and thanked us for dining with them. It was a great experience, and hands-down the best seafood I have had in Galveston.
Excellent food, amazing service! When you go to Galveston, go here!
Our experience was really, really nice. Food was outstanding and service was EXCELLENT! The only thing we noticed to be different from our other times here is that it has increased in noise level substantially over the past visits. While it is still very much an amazing restaurant with impeccable service and food, the noise level negatively affects a romantic dining environment and experience. I WOULD STILL VERY MUCH RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!!!!
Great food, great service, we’ll definitely be back. The only thing not great - .tables felt too close together. Could hear normal level conversations at tables on either side of us.
We enjoyed everything about Rudy and Paco the food was incredible, the service was even better. The noise level was great, we were able to have a great dinning experience even with a large party next to our table. Wished I lived closer this would be my favorite place to eat.
The food was wonderful as always!
Our Granddaughter graduated from UT Nursing School!
We started going to Rudy & Paco's 20+ years ago when we owned a home in Galveston. Since we sold that home we haven't been there for awhile, and I'm glad to say it has only gotten better with time. Paco still greeted us like long lost family and my grilled snapper with cilantro cream sauce was exactly as I remembered it, Fabulous! A wonderful wine selection, with reasonable prices, and a very generous cappuccino left me wondering when we could come back soon. A treat not to be missed on Galveston Island.
As always, great food and quality service. The menu had a great selection and we enjoyed talking to Paco. He is a great host.
Food and service ...outstanding! Jordan is a great server.
Rudy & Paco was AMAZING! The service was the best I have ever received. Paco really has his staff trained well!
Rudy and Paco are one of our favorite restaurants in Galveston. This is a high quality restaurant and has a dress code which makes it very pleasant for all of us. It is next to the Grand Opera House and sponsors many of the shows. If you want a very high quality restaurant in Galveston, this is the place. I like to order the items that are the specials; however, my wife loves the pecan crusted fish and orders it every time. I can not say enough good things about Rudy and Paco's.
