This restaurant is an icon in Galveston and frequented by the locals. It is so special and Paco and his team are so accommodating! Service is exceptional and food is consistently good. We never miss a visit to Rudy and Pacos when we are in town.

This is our FAVORITE restaurant on the island! Every, single time we travel to Galveston we have dined at Rudy & Paco! Our waitperson, Alexis, was phenomenal! I LOVE how the entire waitstaff work in unison much like a well rehearsed orchestra. The food is always fresh & always consistently toothsome! We ALWAYS order the: JUMBO LUMP CRAB CAKE SERVED OVER CHIPOTLE CREAM SAUCE! Warning! This crab cake will quite possibly ruin you for any other crab cake. It’s that delicious! We split one of the specials: pistachio encrusted red snapper, topped with a generous portion of jumbo lump, crab meat paired with a chipotle/mango sauce. The PERFECT bite!!!!! It was served with potatoes, au gratin and fresh snap peas. For dessert, the award-winning bread pudding with the creamy bourbon sauce is worth all the calories! My only criticism is that I secretly wish women could wear fedora hats, berets, western style hats in the restaurant. If someone could help me to understand this firm policy that would be helpful.

Rudy and Paco is one of the best restaurants in Galveston. My wife and I went for my dinner birthday and it was WONDERFUL. The staff was attentive but not all over you either, there when you needed them and not there when you didn't. The crab cakes were the best I have ever had, black bean soup was to die for. Go for the blue cheese dressing on a salad, it was delightful. Reasonably priced wine was has well, not the crazy upcharge at so many places have. Paco came by our table and visited for a bit, and he is worth spending a few minutes with. What I loved as much as the food was the intimacy if Ruday and Paco. I felt I was at the best restaurant in NYC or Chicago. BEST DINNER EVER!!!

Rudy and Paco is one of the best restaurants in Galveston as well as the Houston metropolitan area. Service is unmatched and the food is top shelf, extensive wine list reasonable priced. It is truly a great experience.

Met friends for dinner. Everyone had something different. Everyone loved their meal. A rain storm moved in and our server was called out to deal with preparing the front of the restaurant in case of flooding. He did not return after taking our order which was fine but several other servers came by our table to ask if we were going to order any thing other than drinks. The service is always impecable at R & P’s so it was out of the ordinary. Didnt really impact our evening other than it was odd and out of the ordinary.

We had the best time and we will be back! Everything from food to drinks and service was amazing!! The shrimp appetizer was delicious!! We were so fortunate to meet the owner on our way out and he took us across the street to his other restaurant, so impressive! First time did not disappoint. Delicious and huge assortment of red snapper dishes. Extremely fresh and all good! I see complaints about prices, but the meal includes roasted potatoes and a vegetable which I much prefer to having to pick costly sides to share. I personally love the all-in-one plate and letting the chef do the choosing. We started with a crab cake that is all jumbo lump crab! Delicious and certainly worth it. Finished with yummy bread pudding, like a soft pecan pie. Service was just great and the restaurant is a lovely space. It's a wonderful option to the Galveston dining scene.

We celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary at Rudy and Paco's. For appetizer we had PACO’S SIGNATURE LOBSTER TEMPURA. For our main dish we had FILETE DE PARGO SIMPATICO with the ENSALADA DE LECHUGA FRESCA salad and a bottle of Caymus "The Walking Fool". For dessert we had Chocolate Sabrosa. First of all, the Lobster is a huge portion size. Extremely delicious! Since the appetizer was so large, we asked our waitress to split our main entree and salad. We still had almost too much food to eat! The snapper was perfectly prepared with a crunchy exterior and firm but moist inside. The Raspberry Chipotle sauce is the perfect complement! I loved the potatoes au gratin as well. The dessert was heavenly! Our waitress Carmon really doted on us and made sure we were completely cared for. We had a very memorable experience. This has become our favorite "special place" in Galveston. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I love Rudy and Paco. From the service to the food it's one of the best restaurants in the greater Galveston - Houston area. Why? Mr. Vargas, or as I cal him, Don Paco, is there every day, greeting his guests (yes, you are a guest not a just a customer) and making sure you get the hospitality you would get at home. We went for lunch this time. Our waitress Alexus was a gem, cordial and on top of things. I ordered the Ropa Vieja, a Central American and Caribbean beef dish, shredded and cooked in a light sauce with peppers and onions. Served with black beans, white rice and maduros (fried ripe plantains), this dish is a classic and brought back memories of home. My wife selected "delicias del mar", a seafood dish consisting of shrimp, crab meat, avocado, tomato and cucumbers, refreshing and delicious on a summer day or any time. Mr. Vargas also let me sample the "gallo pinto con carne", a dish made of black beans and beef, also excellent. Gracias Don Paco! When in Galveston make a reservation and visit Rudy and Paco. We are lucky, we live one and one half blocks from their door.

Multiple issues with meat temp on ribeye special. MR should be an easy cook but it was missed twice. First was way over cooked and second cook was very rare. Very disappointing for $110’steak. Apps and lobster were very good.
