Treated like royalty . Paco has come to our table every time and welcomed us and thanked us for coming back.
Incredible food, incredible service. Not cheap but worth every penny. Can't recommend Rudy and Paco's enough. Word of warning - do not wear shorts since there is a dress code.
We were in Galveston for vacation and found Rudy and Paco’s online. The food was absolutely amazing. I am from Maryland and I consider myself a crab cakes snob, the crabcake was by far one of the best I’ve ever eaten and I’ve eaten thousands. The crab bisque was silky and amazing. This ranks up there as one of the top 5 meals we have ever eaten. Paco even checked in on us several times! An absolute gem!
They need to be more upfront with their prices. When I asked about prices on specials, they refused to answer. Basically if you ask you can't afford it. $99.00 for a crab appetizer, too expensive!!
I went out with my daughter for dinner. I always wanted to try Rudy and Paco's since it is Cuban and I am from Miami. I miss Cuban food so much! We were greeted by Paco and he was so warm and friendly. We exchanged stories about Gloria Estefan who had dined there. They sat us up front and were very attentive! The food was amazing! I felt very pampered! I would highly recommend this restaurant!!!!
Wonderful service, impeccable attention to detail, and possibly the best piece of fish I've ever had.
We celebrated our anniversary. Everything was wonderful.
Outstanding food - Impeccable service. The timing of the arrival of our food was perfectly synchronized. Paco visited several times to check in for a chat and to make sure we were happy. The servers did not rush us, rather made us feel comfortable enough to settle in for a leisurely meal enjoyed in our own time. The food is not only delicious but artfully presented. One Crab Cake appetizer is large enough to share but so good you want the whole thing, and is chock full of lumps of crab. My husband ordered the pecan crusted snapper (Parker) and I the snapper in lemon butter topped with lump crab (Freddie). Wow! Both outstanding. Save room for dessert if you can.
One of my favorite restaurants of all time. I was first introduced while in PA school at UTMB. When ever I'm in town, I make sure to make it back to Ruby and Pacos. A five star experience every single time and worth every cent. From plantains, fresh break, crab or lobster bisque, salads, seafood and steak, you will be pleased with any option. Before you die you need to have Rudy and Pacos.
The restaurant was recommended by a Galveston friend for our 30th anniversary, and we couldn't have been more pleased. While the patrons' attire varied, we did not feel out of place in "special date" clothes. The scallops and accompanying sauce were delicious, and my husband was very happy with his pecan-crusted snapper. Vegetables on the side were a nice touch, and the "Happy Anniversary" written in sauce on our shared dessert plate was lovely. Thanks for a memorable night!
Amazing food with an even better atmosphere. The staff was extremely informative and friendly. Unique experience at a memorable restaurant. Best dinner of our trip.
A gem for the area. If location was significantly larger it may actually be the bet in the area. Tables are too close together. Some are only a couple of feet from a busy bar stools and it's bystanders. Cuisine is simply outstanding.
Great food, good evening, time spent with owner made evening fun.
Warm and friendly atmosphere. Greeted by owner. Food was sensational. Love it for a date night and get together with friends.
Everything was great, from food to service to ambience! It's a place we'd love to return to if we travel to Galveston again!
They treat you like Royals. Awesome place, the food, and the ambiance.
The best restaurant in Galveston
Do not miss an oppurtunity to dine here Service and food was FANTASTIC
Paco continues to deliver great food with great service! Even on Monday night it was full and never lets me down!
Excellent food and service . Great time. A local favorite
Great food. Loved the crab cakes. Best crab cakes I have ever eaten. Enjoy meeting Paco. He made you feel very special . I would recommend to anyone visiting Galveston.
Always great food and service. we have never been disappointed.
We love to visit Rudy and Paco whenever we have an occasion to be in Galveston. This past weekend we were in Galveston to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We were greeted at the front door by Paco, as he does everyone. When the hostess noted our reservation, she and Paco wished us a happy anniversary. The waitstaff is outstanding. All meals are served "synchronized". If there are 4 guests at a table, 4 members of the waitstaff serve the meals at the same time. It is so impressive! Likewise, if there are 2 drinks being served from the bar, they are served by two of the waitstaff. They go out of their way for special occasions. Happy Anniversary was written in chocolate on our dessert plate! Our dinner was delightful. Please note, per their dress code, shorts or tee shirts are not acceptable for dinner but okay for lunch.
Just mediocre food. PAPAs Seafood (not on the island) is much better and is less expensive than this place. We went for our 25th wedding anniversary. I was hoping for a romantic spot and it was slightly since it was small and quaint but it was very crowded and very loud. It would be a great place for a business or convention attendees dinner but not a romantic evening. as it seemed there were large loud groups at the tables around us. They were very nice and we had superior service.
We went there for my wife's birthday. It was great! Angela, our waitress was so nice and very attentive. The food was definitely worth the trip down to Galveston.
We dined at R&P for our anniversary. The entire experience was amazing from start to finish. Highly recommend this place!!
The food and ambiance were both amazing! We had a great dinner and a great time!
Unbelievable! Everything about this place was first class. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful guiding us through our decision making. Started off with the crab cake, then onto soups, chose to share entree and were still stuffed. The restaurant is small, but the choreography of the wait staff is impressive. Expensive, but you get your money’s worth. If there were 10 stars, I would give it to them!
Listed as one of the top 100 restaurants in the US on Open Table! Had to try it since we just moved back to TX. Was blown away by the food and service! We compared it to The Penrose Room at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs!! Well done! Will definitely be back! Thank you!!
This is a very nice place for special case dinning. The staff was fabulous as they worked together and took care of all our dining needs. Highly recommended!
First time; great dining experience!
Gracious staff with delicious food!
Excellent wine at a reasonable mark up. Service was the best I have seen; every table would get all entrees served to each guest simultaneously by utilizing all wait staff. Food both looked and tasted fantastic.
Unfortunately , this dinner was disappointing. The shrimp appetizer was very good. .The romaine lettuce in the Caesar salad was chopped up thin & had little flavor. The dressing tasted like grocery store bottled dressing. Same for the Croutons. The $45.00 Redfish entree with crab, was fair at best. Did not taste very fresh or flavorful.
We will probably give them another chance on our next trip to Galveston; but we were not at all impressed this trip!
Service is as good as it gets. First class service.
Everything about the restaurant was amazing. The service was exceptional and the waiter was most attentive. Dinner was delicious and fresh . What a fabulous restaurant experience!
Best food, Best Service, Best restaurant in Galveston Houston area period.
