Great ambiance in this restaurant. A+. Friendly wait staff, cool jazz band (two guys) and fantastic food. Highly recommend it! We went for a Valentine's brunch, it was under $50 fr two of us. Right in the heart of Portsmouth--great if you are out for the day or just want a quiet easy, classy place to stop.

We often go to Rudi's ahead of a Music Hall program, because of the food, ambiance (we love the music), and proximity to the Music hall and the Parking Garage. Things were somewhat "off" service wise this time. Our friend who specifically asked to have NO onions on his burger and his salad, had to send them both back as both had onions. Our other friend, who was having a caesar salad and some soup, got the soup well after the salad. We usually have no complaints, but I said, things were "off", which made this visit less enjoyable than others.

My fiancé and I came here for Valentine’s Day. There was a live jazz band - music was great! We had the scallops and rack of lamb, both meals were amazing and cooked perfectly.

My wife and have been going to Rudi’s for a number of years now. The food, live music, and atmosphere never disappoint! This is a great place for a romantic evening out on the town, a special occasion, or to go with a group of friends for a nice dinner.

We were here for brunch. The food was okay, not good, not bad. Live music for brunch. Nice dining room. Bathrooms were dirty. Just....meh.....

We met some friends for dinner on a Saturday night and were very pleased with the overall experience. The food was delicious and the wait staff very attentive. We spent 3 hours over dinner and never felt like they wanted us to leave. Everyone got something different and we shared. I had the duck breast which was cooked perfectly and the sides complemented the overall meal. The consensus was that the scallops were the best choice. We had scallop appetizer and one person got the scallop dinner. The scallops were cooked to perfection and had a little sweet taste. We will definitely visit this restaurant again.

Rudi’s has been in Portsmouth a long time. I hadn’t been there for a couple years & had always enjoyed their food. Food was very good. Wait staff was friendly & attentive. It was brunch on a Sunday. My friend & I enjoyed our experience. We’ll be back!

My visit was totally out of the blue with my boyfriend, but a great decision. The food was fantastic. I ordered the Irish Benedict and had to control myself to not lick my plate. I also ordered the Pink Grapefruitini was SO good. Our server, Karen, was fun and attentive without crossing any line (she let us enjoy our date). I loved the live music and can't wait to go again

My husband and I wanted a healthy low carb alternative for dinner and we had an excellent scallops appetizer, a delicious salad, an outstanding salmon filet over spinach, pancetta, pine nuts and grapes with a delicious drizzle, and then we had a yummy ricotta dessert with fresh decaf coffee. My husband had some scotch and service was good. Piano music in the background - what a lovely evening! Thank you, Rudi's...

We had to wait a long time for our food because there was a large private party. The music was so loud it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Otherwise good experience.

First time for brunch. Decision for trying was twofold; reviews, and the menu being a la carte instead of buffet. The Mrs had a mimosa, and French toast. Was pleased with both. I had the Irish Benedict. Hash was in house made and excellent. Service was a little lax, but it was brunch, and we were not in a hurry. Certainly not a complaint. Food and ambiance were worth the trip (hour drive), and Mrs wants to come back to try it for dinner.
