Ruchi Ratings and Reviews
We are in town from D.C. To see Hamilton and were thrilled to get authentic Indian food in an informal, cozy setting. The starters and main dishes were all delicious - goat, lamb, and chicken. The unique, multi-colored lighting also give the place a special ambiance. A local passer-by told us it was great as we entered and he was right!
We ordered the chicken tikka masala, chicken makni, rice, garlic bread and mango lassi. Everything tasted good. Our waitress was excellent. Attentive and nice.
I took off one star because the portion size is moderate for the price and rice does not come with the entree.
Food is amazing! Service is friendly. Restaurant is fairly small with a buzzy atmosphere.
The only think that really bothered me was that despite making a reservation our group of 7 had to wait over 20 minutes to be accommodated. The restaurant only seems to check their reservations once in the morning, then have trouble honouring further bookings made on the same day.
We absolutely loved the food, very well done and served. The room is small but not noisy, conversation is pleasant and there is no need to raise the volume. Service was very good, kind and attentive. A great balance between quality and price, I did not perceive it as an expensive place. Very short walk from 9/11 memorial and Wall St.
I had been looking for a good Indian restaurant in New York's Financial District. With an Indian co-worker, we had tried one, but it was very small carry-out and delivery only. This time we had two visiting managers, who were Indians, one of whom was a vegetarian.
In searching online, I found Ruchi, and even took a quick walk over to see that it was a proper sit-down restaurant.
I had my all-time favourite Lamb Biryani, and was quite impressed. The rest of our party loved it.
We liked it so much, my co-worker and I went back over there yesterday, and tried something different. And we took a walk around the 9/11 Memorial on our way back to the office.
