Very subtle and sublime flavors. A cut above the generic Indian restaurant.
Delightful under-the-radar FiDi restaurant with a huge menu, including harder-to-find classics from southern India like uttapam, idli sambar and dosas as well as the standard northern Indian tikkas and biriyanis. Can be crowded and bustling at lunch but the service is attentive and food comes flying out of the kitchen, piping hot.
Great food. Great place to pop in and out to eat. Casual.
Thank you excellent service great food thanks Rajeev
Food was good and staff were attentive. It seemed a bit hectic because they were busy. The place is kind of small and pretty crowded. It's good for just in and out eating. They had a good wine list for great prices- only $6 a glass of good white wine!
Great little spot in fidi! The food is amazing and authentic.
I have been going to Ruchi for years. I love the food. The sauces, the rice, and the breads are delicious. It's small and quaint and the atmosphere is very authentic. The ethnic staff is very nice. My only complaint is the lack of variety in beers. They list a long assortment of Indian beers, but they only have 3 kinds. They should take the others of the menu.
At any rate, the food is delicious. I highly recommend it.
My favorite Indian restaurant in Fidi. Always delicious food, great lunch specials and prices. Gets very crowded and always a wait so make sure you make a reservation!
Food was outstanding and very savory... Delicious!
Went here with my family and friends that were recently in town. Very intimate space with limited seating - we were seated right away. Potato samosas to start, curries all around. Delicious food with minimal wait time.
Authentic Indian in a beautiful, intimate restaurant.
We are in town from D.C. To see Hamilton and were thrilled to get authentic Indian food in an informal, cozy setting. The starters and main dishes were all delicious - goat, lamb, and chicken. The unique, multi-colored lighting also give the place a special ambiance. A local passer-by told us it was great as we entered and he was right!
Everything is always tasty. I have returned here a few times over the past month when I have craved some good indian spices. Never disappoints in taste, only wished portion sizes were more.
Go here for good Indian downtown
No expectations, just good quick service and good cheap Indian downtown manhattan.
Get there at 11:45 am to ensure a seat!
We ordered the chicken tikka masala, chicken makni, rice, garlic bread and mango lassi. Everything tasted good. Our waitress was excellent. Attentive and nice.
I took off one star because the portion size is moderate for the price and rice does not come with the entree.
Service was impeccable! Must try the crab curry! They don't skimp on the crab at all
The Tikka Masala was outstanding!!! The food was delicious & the service friendly!
They did not honor my reservation placed for lunch. They claimed to not have that info despite me showing them my confirmation. Our group of 9 had to wait to find seating. It is quite congested.
Second time visiting and found everything to be still consistent as far as food and service. Great experience. They allowed us to bring our own wine for a nominal fee. Attentive servers and the food was gooooooooooooood! Will return !
Food is delicious and very reasonable for lunch.
Chicken Xacuti was anything but. The mutton chilli and mutton kadhai were the same dish.
Friendly staff. Great food
Nice place, good food. First time having indian food and I had a grest experience.
Perfect for our night out in NYC! The food was amazing!
Great food fast service reasonable prices
Ok! way to many peanuts in the rice and the madras was
More like a korma. No spice and too creamy
Might try again
I am very picky when it comes to Indian food, but this was spot on. I had the Chicken korma and it was excellent. Naan, Samosas and mango lasee were also all great. Would highly recommend.
So expensive! $70 for3 ppl. can definitely find cheaper and tastier food elsewherein the area.. Always crowded and you still have to wait even if you made reservations online
We started with vegetable rolls and the chicken and corn soup. The rolls came deep fried but frozen in the middle, but the soup was delicious, subtly spicy but with a creamy consistency and exotic flavor. The shrimp masala was excellent, though 5 shrimp for $18 is a bit of a rip off. The Naan was perfect, chewy and soft, but the paratha was wildly greasy, with the bottom layer sodden with grease from the fryer and weeping oil on to the plate.
Long wait even with reservations
Poor service. Very less care for customers priced Dinner food. I would prefer Indian street food over this place. Never go here for dinner.
Very good and excellent service. Food was awesome. I recommend this hotel to everyone
Mediocre food (who makes chicken curry with breaded chicken? One suspected it was food left over from another dish), rushed, crowded, noisy, very sweet waitress but overall unpleasant. Would never have reason to go back.
Great value with the 50% lunch menu, but far too salty, sweet, and sticky. And who breads the chicken in an Indian chicken dish?
Decent Indian cuisine in a neighborhood with few competitors. I only had soup and bread, but would definitely return if I'm staying in the financial district, as I was earlier this week.
Simply the best north Indian food in the area. Cannot recall a bad experience food wise. A true gem.
Food is amazing! Service is friendly. Restaurant is fairly small with a buzzy atmosphere.
The only think that really bothered me was that despite making a reservation our group of 7 had to wait over 20 minutes to be accommodated. The restaurant only seems to check their reservations once in the morning, then have trouble honouring further bookings made on the same day.
Food was great and dinning space is very less. Recommended to have extra dinning space.
Petite financial district restaurant with amazing spice game. This was the hands down rec from our hotel and we loved it.
Tasty food at reasonable prices
