Ruby's Oyster Bar and Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Love this place - love the lemon chicken that thankfully made it's way back to the menu. I know they're known for their oysters but my group stuck to lunch items on my most recent visit. Steak is great, salmon is great, salads are great, sandwiches and burgers are great. I've never had a bad meal at this restaurant and always fantastic service. We ordered the chocolate fondue for dessert and it was enough for our whole table.
The food was fabulous and while the server was very attentive, they food came quickly and the bus people lurk nearby, just waiting for you to put your fork down so they can clear the table. Our reservation was for 6:00 and I assume they wanted the table for 7. My first glass of wine was about 4-5ouncers and the second was about 7 for the same price.
Lively, bustling and noisy, Rubys seems to be incredibly popular with the Rye community. The menu is good and creative and the food is Americanized bistro. We had fresh crabmeat cocktail, tuna tartar pizza and steamers and no disappointments. The service was good and they seemed comfortable with customizing orders. All in all a very good meal but $$.
Ruby's Oyster House is such a comfortable place to relax and dine. The seafood is fresh and creative....always seem to order the seared tuna BLT with avocado and wasabi mayo, yum, but we have had other seafood dishes that are really fresh tasting...the oyster selection is always a nice variety of east and west coast. Have price bottles of wine on sundays is a great deal too! Wait staff is very attentive and unobtrusive.
