Ruby's Oyster Bar and Bistro
Pan Fried Oysters
with Champagne Butter
Lobster Salad on a Pretzel Roll
Bacon, Tomato, Sprouts and Pommes Frites
Everything was perfect. Only reason ambiance not higher is lights weren’t dimmed as much as usual. I love Ruby’s because of its low lighting, cozy bistro feel. That night not a lot of diners in restaurant and staff had lights on higher than usual. Changed the vibe ( not for the better).
Ruby's is a great neighborhood restaurant and it didn't' disappoint. I loved the crispy Brussel sprouts and blackened shrimp appetizer. My husband had the chicken and loved every bite, we will return again and again.
We had a consummately lovely Easter brunch at Ruby's, and were very impressed by the attention to detail in each of our dishes, all of which were seasoned beautifully. Our server, Eileen, was very gracious in accommodating our 20-month-old and providing him with chocolate milk and crayons while we scarfed on the "Fire & Ice" spicy tuna tempura roll, brussels sprouts chips, asparagus appetizer and crab cake eggs benedict.
We had a great lunch/brunch here outside on a Saturday. Thank you for the lovely service and great food!
So, how disappointed am I? Ruby's has been one of my default restaurants for years. Granted, with the virus, I have not been here is a while. Nothing to do on a Sunday night, I thought I'd have a nice meal here. With the exception of two people at the bar, I was the only one in the restaurant at 7:15pm. I ordered oysters, a salad, a burger, and a beer. The first oysters they brought me looked like they'd been shucked a couple days ago. They were dry with absolutely no liquor. I sent them back. They brought me another order and they were definitely better. Waited a while, finally got my salad. It was was ok. I'm the only one in the place... Waited a while again, they took my salad bowl and waited again for my burger. It was a mountain of fries and a large bun and a small burger. It was cooked medium rare so no complaint. 6 oysters, 1 salad, 1 porter, 1 burger, $69.00.
Everyone working there was moving in slow motion. This is a restaurant that used to be so bustling and lively and fun to go to that the stark change was not only upsetting, but supremely disappointing. The floor looked like it hadn't been washed in weeks. The manager (I assume the manager) was chatting it at the bar with a couple only to take his dinner from a counter and disappear. Waitress moved around with not a care in the world and no sense of involvement.
I asked if the restaurant had changed hands, that's how different it was from my last times here.
I'm writing this with the hope the owner might take notice, get involved, and stir things up at what has been a great place to go. Will give it another chance in a while but if its same as tonite, will be my last.
This was my first time to Ruby’s ans can’t wait to return again and also try out there other restaurants .. I loved there was no rushing .. we love to relax and enjoy our food .. Food was very good and taste and prices are so realizable. Love this place diff going to be on my return list thanks
Food was delicious, but we were given the wrong daily special menu and therefore kitchen made error in our order. Overall though, enjoyable experience
We had our granddaughters birthday lunch here . Each person ordered something different . Each was delicious , Lobster roll, ahi tuna blt sandwich , Caesar with salmon salad , Ciopanni soup and chicken sandwich all flavorful! We will be back!
always a reliable for brunch, lunch or dinner with a couple of drinks
Excellent place for a great dinner in a casual atmosphere. We had the scallops which were cooked perfectly. Also had the seafood Cioppinno, their take on a (Bouillabaisse), also very good.
food was delicious hot and served with attentiveness and safety
The reservation was made through Open Table, but when we got there, the restaurant was closed, and not a sign about when and how to w long it will be closed.
Thank God the other restaurant Rafele was opened and we had an excellent dinner there.
Sat at the bar for quick bite and night out and stayed for an extra cocktail. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant - we would go back again.
Such great food. It was nice sitting at a bar too for dinner as it’s been almost a year now. Food and drinks were terrific. We will be going back for sure.
Great meal great atmosphere. Everyone followed Covid protocols, can’t wait to go back!
Ruby's never disappoints. The atmosphere was lively, the menu extensive and the execution was flawless. Service was a little slow, but it was a full house on Saturday nite, so forgivable.
As always a great dinner with attentive staff! Definitely CoVid compliant!
Food was amazing, the service was attentive and personable. We WILL return.
This place looked beautiful. We had high hopes. Blackened Shrimp was good but the steak frites was atrocious. I didn't think it was still possible to mess up steak in this day and age. It looked like a really nice bar so I ordered an Old Fashioned. I would have preferred water.
Always great foods and great service
Wonderful food, service, atmosphere!!
Great Christmas Eve dinner. It’s an annual tradition now. Great service food and ambiance!
Very slow service. Waiter not attentive. Had to track him down.
Ruby’s always comes through! With a menu second to none you are sure to find something delicious to either share or have on your own. The food is so delicious, we keep coming back to this gem.
It was a beautiful day to enjoy an outdoor lunch on Rubys back patio. Service was great and food delicious . Would definitely go back for an outside meal...if possible ! Will go back inside once everything is back to “normal”.
Great food and service!
Consistency best describes this favorite dining destination. Always good selection of oysters and the tuna club is a masterpiece.
Once again we enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. Great fresh fish served by a very professional and attentive staff! Thank You
Always a good experience.
Always fresh fish, great specials to choose from and a fully stocked bar.
Girls night was lots of fun. The cherry pepper pork chop special was delicious as was the lobster BLA. A for avocados. The Brussel sprout and Blackened Shrimp apps were delicious as well. Overall great night
I am such a fan of Ruby's - we come here often. Last Saturday night, we had a 7:15 reservation for four and we had to wait over twenty minutes for our table. There was no place to stand even as we waited.
Once we got our table, it was along a narrow walkway along the bar, so servers and patrons kept bumping up against us.
The service was rather slow. We received our dessert before our coffee. It was almost too loud to have a conversation.
We have always loved Ruby's for its' consistency in food, service and ambiance. I can only hope that our lackluster experience is an exception to what normally is a superior experience.
Very good food. Service could be a little more attentive.
Food wasn’t up to its usual high quality. Waitstaff too intrusive
A great place to meet friends for lunch or dinner. Consistently good food and outstanding service staff.
Great food and atmosphere every time. Would recommend.
Great neighborhood place in Rye. Never disappoints
Great setting, lots of people but enough space where you didn’t feel overcrowded. Food was terrific and the service was excellent. Will try to make this a regular spot.
As always the dining experience at Ruby’s is splendid indeed.
