Brother and I took our 96 year old Mom out for a home town lunch . Staff was polite and helpful in accommodating her folding walker. Sean ,our sever, was on point with recommendations and service.Ordered a selection of a few dozen oysters that were absolutely fresh and delicious without that briney uniformity that’s common in many places. Thoughtfully labeled as well . A good reasonably priced wine list : we had a very good Oregonian Chardonnay. Really tasty fish and chips for all, yummy desert and digestifs -a great meal!
this restaurant was terrific. the oysters and mussels were very good! i ordered the garlic crusted cod with ratatouille . i would hiughly recommend this resturant to everyone.
Very good. Great presentation of food and wonderful options!
Always a good spot for a date, girls dinner or business.
Good brunch, enjoyed our eggs Benedict with crab cake.
We had a tasty early Sunday brunch (10:45 a.m.) at Rubys. It was very quiet when we arrived, and noise was restrained while we were there. We were pleased to be able to sit for a long while over our coffee and did not feel rushed to leave.
If you want to hear yourself, sit upstairs. It's a totally different and calm experience. Everything was great, just wish the duck confit was a larger piece of duck.
We have been dining at Ruby's for years. Lately we have been finding it not as good as it used to be. Not sure what has changed. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either.
We were disappointed in the escargot, they just weren't good.
The menu has gotten boring. They need to change things up a bit.
consistent food and service
management is gracious and hospitable
one of our favorites
A group of 6 of us went for brunch. Got our favorite spot, the round banquette in the back. Food was very good - a very varied brunch menu.
I have been coming to Rubys for years as a Ryebrook resident and have fond the restaurant to be consistently good over the years, but I found it to start to get a little stale, still good, but losing its sizzle and then they brought in a new chef who is excellent and brought a new exciting flair to the menu! Congrats! Great move to bring Billy in to join the team!
I was expecting mash potatoes cauliflower and was disappointed to find out it was a seasonal thing.
once again, an enjoyable dinner at Ruby'sdue to food, atmosphere and service!
Love the weekend brunch, as it also offers 1/2 price on bottles:) Unfortunately they no longer have the Tuna Tartar Pizza which was my absolute favorite :\ Have not found a comparable replacement on the appetizer menu so far...
Went to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday. Mentioned that in my reservation. No recognition of it by restaurant. Just a little thing- but little things go a long way. There were eight of us at a fairly small table. Food was fine. Oysters very good. Pleasant experience.
Good but kinda blah. But I only had a Cobb salad with a crab cake on it.
Of late Ruby’s has ranked the highest in dining experiences. It us always one of the first places we consider.
Disappointing food - steak undercooked and then tough, had to return. Ended having no dinner. Service like a fast food restaurant, some servers good, not so others. When booking I indicated special occasion (birthday) but there was no recognition of this so what's the point? Overall disappointing experience.
We had a nice late New Year's Dinner at Ruby's. I had the best Seafood Bouillabaisse EVER, still thinking about the delicious flavorful broth... The service was great too! Our waiter never tried to rush us out when it was past midnight.
Fantastic experience! We celebrated our New Years Eve dinner and everything was perfect!
great dishes both on and off the menu. everyone left happy.
We generally love this restaurant, but the service was really off this time. The food is good and the ambiance is fun.
Always a good time at Ruby's. Fun, festive atmosphere. Great cocktails and food! French Onion soup on point and the seafood was fresh and tasty
Delish! Love the look of the restaurant and lunch was yummy. A bit pricey.
We were not able to eat at Ruby's. We showed up 10 minutes early for our reservation, checked in and were sent to the bar. 45 minutes later we watched several other diners come in and get immediately seated. The hostess was at the bar chatting the entire time. We ended up leaving and going to another restaurant. We will never go back there.
We have been to Rubys on many occasions, and I can honestly say that this was the best meal I have ever had there. We had a 2 tiered Seafood platter. Amazing oysters. The shrimp were ENORMOUS! For entrees. we ordered the hanger steak & the Icelandic trout (I think? It was similar to Arctic Char). Both couples ordered one of each and we had our own surf and turf. Both entrees were coked to perfection.
Been going regularly for 2 years. New chef reduced portion sizes. Changed a particular item we loved to something very different in style, quantity and flavor. Not good.
Prices are borderline NYC prices. E.g. $15 for a cocktail.
$30++ for an entree.
Worth the drive from Australia to enjoy the food at Ruby’s
Went to Oyster Bar not knowing anything about it.
The food was superb, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was excellent
Next time I am in the area will definitely dine there again.
As always Ruby’s can be counted on for a great casual dinner...
We went to celebrate my son's birthday. Hadn't been there in years and it was still so
delicious. Would definitely go back.
Stopped on our way through town. Fantastic food, nice staff, cool facility! Can't wait to go again on my next trip to NYC!
Ruby’s is our favorite spot in town! Dinner was exceptional, never disappoints.
Service was poorly timed - entrees were waiting in waiter's arms while they cleared out appetizer dishes. Food was mediocre at best.
The place was too loud . And they didn’t have enough servers. Meal was decent and service terrible
The new chef Billy Rosenberg is extraordinary. The Rosenburger is delicious. So is the salmon tartar, and asparagus with pesto and parmigiana with a fried egg on top. Everything we had was very good.
Great dinner was had by all. Oysters and Calamari specials of the day were delicious appetizers. We also had the fondue which was delicious as well. The scallops with lobster risotto was excellent.
It was pretty quiet for a Friday night and we were able to enjoy a nice drink at the bar before dining outside, which is always a treat. As usual, service was efficient and food was excellent.
Excellent food and service. The fried oysters were particularly good. Great place for seafood lovers.
