Located in New York Citys NoLita neighborhood, Rubirosa serves both Italian and American cuisine in a casual atmosphere. The restaurant uses fresh ingredients including daily handmade pasta. Rubirosa also serves wine and spirits, imported from Italy.
Try the roasted octopus or the mozzarella sticks to start out your meal at Rubirosa. Choose from entres like the crispy Brussels sprouts and the rigatoni or order a large pizza to share with the family. The menu includes plenty of vegetarian options so that everyone in the group can find something on the menu to enjoy. Additionally, the restaurant offers takeout services for its customers convenience.
The only thing that is keeping Rubriosa from being one of NYC’s classic Italian restaurants is time. Let’s eat vodka sauce pizza while we wait.
Excellent food and service...our favorite spot when we visit New York City!!!!!
We had a great night! Very helpfull waiter. Some great appetisers to start with and a fantastis pizza!
Food was delicious. Very charming space. We were seated in the very back, which wasn't nearly as lively & fun as the front/bar room.
Easily the best pizza in Manhattan, which compensates for service that is at best indifferent until the check is presented and then it's all smiles. Too bad FOH isn't in sync with BOH.
Great gluten free menu. Very good service. Lovely food.
Shared a fantastic pizza, vodka sauce with half anchovies and half pepperoni. Divine! Great rice balls too. Extensive wine list from Italy. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.
This native New Yorker and his family are Ricotta Pancake fanatics. Rubirosa is always on our 'to do' list when visiting from Cincinnati.
My daughter cannot eat gluten and Rubirosa was recommended as an option. We loved it! Items rarely available as gluten free such as mozzarella sticks and rice balls were available. The gluten free pizza was fantastic with very fresh ingredients. We've added this to our favorites list and will definitely be back!
This place has so much character and the food is amazing. I would definitely recommend it. Pizza was amazing, the chicken parm panini was more like a sandwich than a panini- but it was so delicious!! Really good atmosphere.
Great place for lunch. It's small and welcoming. Friendly service. I was able to enjoy the food and the company for lunch. We had a salad which was really yummy and huge. Could have just eaten that and been happy. I ordered the eggplant parm. I was so busy chatting I didn't realize it was a sandwich when I ordered. I avoid wheat so I took the eggplant off the bread. It was good. It also came with a big side salad. It was a nice lunch. My friend got a calamari salad special which looked great. She enjoyed that too. It was a lovely lunch in a nice atmosphere, friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this for those who eat gluten free as they have an entire gluten free menu and gluten free pizza which I will try next time. I would recommend it to all because it's a nice casual place to eat with good food.
Vodka pizza and a side order of meatballs for the win! Both some of the best I've had in their respective categories
Every dish is made fresh every day at Rubirosa, with the best ingredients. The pizza is incredibly delicious and the pastas are delectable!!!! The service is great as well
Great pizza. Had the traditional and broccoli rabe. They forgot the Brussle sprouts but didn't charge us and we had too much food anyway. Best pizza I've had in NYC.
Always a great meal at rubirosa. Love the tie dye pizza
Vodka pizza, tie dye pizza and rubirosa salad are a must!
Cozy and delicious! Can't wait to go back
I went specifically to try the vodka sauce pizza and it was worth the frosty welcome. Would go back to try more menu items.
That's all. Get whichever pie sounds good to you the day you go. Order too much on purpose and bring some home. Tie-dye is a Rubirosa classic, more so than the actual namesake pie. Thin crust means even when there's no sauce or other fixings left, you still want to eat it. Had the arugula salad (delicious) and calamari fritti (delicious; make sure someone you're with doesn't mind tentacles because they do feature prominently here, as do zucchini slices).
Do yourself a favor and make the reservation. Lunchtime will be easier.
Rubirosa continues to provide a place to "call home" in NYC for me and my colleagues. The wait staff are visible when you need them and invisible when needed-quite a balance.
The food strikes me as being constantly cultivated always honoring the proclaimed "family recipe" w/ a touch of modernization - the citrus salad was a big surprise + and prior to a veggie heavy pizza enough to cap off any week with a nod to the foodie up high...thanks AJ, your presence is still here.
Superb pizza and ravioli with beet and potato!
The pizza is divine...never disappoints! The Classic will always remain my favorite followed by the Rubirosa Supreme which is topped with pepperoni and mini meatballs. Another favorite is the Sausage & Broccoli Rabe Pizza. Yum, Yum, Yummy...now i'm hungry! LOL
$40 for a super think crust pizza is ridiculous. My boyfriend and I were able to split a salad, rice balls and and an entire large half supreme, half tie-dye. After some wine and a tip, pizza night turned into $130. The restaurant was too crowded, too loud and service was meh. The pizza however, is actually delicious. Just know what you're getting into.
Rubirosa is authentic Italian pizza. A tasty sauce and right combo of cheese. High end ingredients make the pizza worth the price. Hard to get a reservation because of it's popularity and a hour plus wait for walk ins. But soooooo worth it.
Excellent service, a good draft beer recommendation and a yummy pizza (the Classic) made for an enjoyable lunch experience. We'd consider coming back but not for the pizza. It was good, not great. Tottono's and Di Fara remain the gold standard in our opinion.
We thoroughly enjoyed our late lunch - particularly the roasted octopus!! Wonderful! The pasta was so tender and the tomato sauce was just plain yummy.
The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Homemade pasta was delicious...excellent texture and cooked to perfection. Citrus salad special was innovative, fresh and refreshing. Cavatelli with sausage seasoned to perfection. Flourless chocolate cake was outstanding. Love the restaurant!
Amazing food as always, amazing service from Adeena and an amazing way to begin our NYE. Thank you for making GF eating enjoyable for my boyfriend!!!!
Such a gem!
I wish I could find the equivalent in London.
Meatballs were the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot. Pizza was nice, light base. Not life changing but very enjoyable.
Would go back and recommend!!
My husband and I made this our choice for an Italian meal while visiting the city and we weren't disappointed! From the Italian wedding soup, pasta and pizza everything was delicious. Service was excellent and we were seated promptly.
Rubirosa was terrific in every way: fun, great food, great bar and festive night out. It's crowded but service is good and the host/hostess are really on top of things. Hip and happening too :)
We had reservations for a group of six. We were given a nice table in a secluded portion of the restaurant. The service was on point and the food was phenomenal! We split two supreme pizzas and were totally impressed! My wife is strictly gluten free. The Rubirosa staff had no problem accommodating her requests and provided what she described as the best gluten free pizza she's ever had! I tried some and couldn't even tell the difference. If you are in NYC, don't miss this place! You should plan to make reservations. We would have gone back again during our visit had we had another reservation time. We will be back to Rubirosa the next time we are in NYC!!
The classic pizza is the best pizza I have ever had. My family agrees. Rubirosa is kid friendly meaning we did not feel weird having our young children here but the food is not dumbed down for kids. Everyone will have an amazing NYC dining experience. We spent some time hanging out at Columbus Park then walked to the restaurant. This is a great location with amazing food.
Spectacularly good pizza. The tie dye was beautiful. The supreme was lovely. Half and half pizzas were ideal. Gave us a chance to try a few different types. The seafood pasta was a highlight. Warm, generous service. Small but well chosen wine list. Would tell everyone I know to eat here.
Great pizza as always, good selection of beers too
De Arugula salad is spectacular. The pasta and pizza is great. We were in New York for 8 days and we went there 3 times...I think that says a lot about whether we liked it or not!
Best pizza in NYC by far!
Amazing pizza place. Has a local pizza place feel but a gourmet experience. Had the supreme and tie dye pies. It was excellent. Razor thin crust that was both chewy and crunchy. Service was great and not a long wait for the food. Fresh ingredients like pesto, meats and sauce. Will definitely return for the best slice in NYC.
This is a great restaurant just outside the hustle and bustle of Little Italy.
The entrance is very crowded, but the activity and the closeness are well worth pushing through to get to the food.
The service and overall experience add to a great culinary experience.
Great food service was terrible
After reading about Rubirosa online my boyfriend and I tried to get a table one evening as a walk in. Don't try this! They were fully booked all evening, and the next night too.
However, we booked online for the following week and it was worth the wait! The pizzas are huge, and the gluten free menu (one of the main reasons we went as finding good gf food in NY was getting difficult) is just as good as the main menu - no having to pick from one or two dishes, they had numerous pizza, pasta and even starter and dessert options. Highly recommend to any gluten free (and hungry!) diners in NYC.
