    Great first experience celebrating our annicersary at RPM, the whipped ricotta & wild blossom honey bread was delicious as well as the Tortelloni di Zucca. The ambience was quiet and romantic, loved it!

    Great service, felt very pampered and well attended to the whole evening. Drinks, delicious. Food tasty however very overpriced for portion and presentation. I ordered the special, risotto with truffles. I did not ask price, so surprised on bill — $78!! Who would ever think a small bowel of risotto would cost that much! Cool experience, very average on the food for the price.

    James was awesome. I couldn’t decide between Short Rib Bolognese and Carbonara. I finally ordered the Bolognese and then he brought us a Carbonara, compliments of RPM. Well played, James. The pasta and wine were top shelf.

    We had to wait to be seated for about 20 min even though I made a reservation then we were squeezed at a tiny cold table in the back of the restaurant that clearly wasn’t supposed to seat 7 people the food was basic at best barely seasoned and and so expensive for barely any food and we were rushed to hurry up and finish our food after it took 2 hours for our food to arrive to the table and then they constantly kept refilling my kids drinks as if it was free when I wasn’t looking then had the nerve to be watching us as if we were going to dine and dash and we used the valet!!! Omg I had the worst dining experience of my life I will never be eating here ever again and I truly believe they treated us this way is because we’re black there was only one waiter and one waitress that were nice to us the rest treated us like we were not welcome and needed to hurry and leave and I spent over 500 on the dinner

    I am not opposed to parents bringing small children to restaurants. However, I highly encourage parents to make sure their children are not running around the restaurant. It is a safety issue. Staff and patrons (including children) could be scalded by hot food or other injuries. Please do not impede the work of the staff. All of them are there to ensure our dining experience is phenomenal and to make a living.

    Got seated 40 minutes after our reservation. Branzino was awful. Risotto was bland. Waitress was great. Manager was not awesome. DO BETTER

    I just want to shout out the host that was so graceful in assisting about 30 guests that were surrounding her at the host stand. She remained collected, calm and never once let an irritated guest bother her. Well done! Give her a raise (she was working PM Thanksgiving, has curly hair)

    Great service but overbooked. 30 mins late on our reservation. I was not told the gluten free menu was not available despite specifically asking. Was surprised to learn it was a fixed menu despite my questions when I booked through OpenTable. We needed gluten free (celiac) and nut free. they did a great job accommodating but it did restrict what could be ordered on a limited fixed menu. Food was good. Turkey was dry. I’d expect better since this was one of the only things in the menu. Cost for 4 $640

    Unfortunately wasn’t the best on Thanksgiving. Took my mother in law since we had been raving about RPM. We were underwhelmed. Branzino fish was dry and no flavor. My wife loved her steak. Burrata was served with no accouterments.

    The restaurant environment was great and our server was fabulous. Preset menu was ok. not a ton of options and they offered no bread service. The turkey was just ok while the risotto an gnocchi were delish

    We re-visited the restaurant where we had my bday party last August. The food —even on Thanksgiving—was delicious and service was perfect. I would say it was an extremely good experience!

    The food was good, but the server was rude and scarce. Also, for $100 per person, we thought a dessert would be included. RPM Steak’s Thanksgiving menu included a dessert. It is understood that Thanksgiving is a difficult day to serve, but we had hoped for a better experience.

    Thanksgiving pre fix menu was great! I wish I was given more fish but overall great. Also could’ve added a sauce to it. Music was way too loud. And I know it’s RPM Italian but they could’ve put on soft jazz instead of house music for Thanksgiving day.

    I appreciate that you were open, but if the service is not happy to be there then have the place close. The host that guided us to our table was as cold as solid ice. And to charge the price you were charging per person, at least have your waitstaff be more attentive with their guests. Our server had no interest in explaining the dishes, he was gone most of the time, two of us were trying to get another refill but it was hard getting his attention. Once we had him he brings something else of what they were drinking, and no clue of what he dropped off. It was worthless to even try to fix it. The temperature of our steaks were wrong, and three of us had to share one, again, because he was no were to be seen to try to fix it. The place was busy but not understaffed, he just did not want anything to do with our table. This was not what I expected for a special day for our family.

    We celebrated Thanksgiving here. The three course prix fixe menu was well designed. We chose the burrata and prosciutto appetizers (both excellent although one small grissini was kind of chintzy for five slices of prosciutto - next time consider two or three grissini). My husband had the squash filled tortelloni and I had the risotto. His pasta was good but the butter sage sauce was over the top, overpowering the filled pasta - simpler is better. My risotto was simple in its ingredients- a good thing- but suffered from being undercooked and soupy. It was more like “riso in brodo” than creamy risotto. We both had the turkey. I was disappointed that the thigh was battered and fried. But the batter was easily removed and the meat was tender. My husband said his turkey breast meat was moist. Mine was a bit dry, but still tender. Mashed potatoes were overwhipped for my preference. My husband loved them, the gravy and the stuffing. We both agreed that the delicata squash dish would have been greatly improved if the intense garlic gremolata-type topping had been omitted. The service and pacing were excellent, the decor was inviting, and the music was annoyingly inappropriate.

    We went there for our wedding anniversary. Server and other person were very attentive. Even though great food, if service is not good, then we won't go back. We have been going there for a long time. RPM Italian have been consistent on service. It is very rare in River North neiborhood. Even compare to other RPM, this location is the best!

    Reservation was for 8.15, table was only ready at 8:50. Ordered apps + a cappuccino as we sat down. Apps took 35 minutes to come out, And cappuccino took 40 mins. Waitress did not check on us between ordering apps and then brining the cappuccino. Finally ordered food which took ANOTHER 30 mins to come out. Carbonara was cold, overly salty, and undercooked. Chicken parm was tasteless. Didn’t even get to tell the waitress or send it back because we didn’t see her (or anyone else for that matter) until our plates were already cleared — and when she did come around to give us dessert menus — she didn’t even ask about our dinner. It was our anniversary and they gave us mini gelatos which was cute. Extremely disappointed.

    Overall I would say a disappointing experience. Had a reservation for 2 and checking in process was fine, got in pretty quickly. From there the experience just seemed pretty impersonal. Our waiter seemed extremely preoccupied. So a bit of a wait initially for drinks etc. Not a huge deal since we were talking. He did mention they were very busy, so we understood. Once we were finished with our meal, our plates sat there for quite some time, shockingly long, without anyone checking to see if we were done. So the service was definitely lacking considering the reputation of this place. In terms of food, nothing blew me away which I was surprised by. I really enjoyed the meatballs. The italian salad was not a good choice. Less of a salad, more of a bowl of salami / olives. I prefer some more greens in my salads. The pasta was decent, but again, nothing extraordinary considering the environment. Tiramisu was very good, as it should be, since it's simple to make. So will definitely avoid the circus of coming here in the future and stick to more intimate settings where waitstaff can be more attentive. I think had the service been more attentive it probably would have made up for the mediocre food. (Again the food was not bad, just seemed not to hit the mark.) Overall would say overrated.

    The restaurant is beautiful and classy. The food was outstanding. The arancini and meatballs were cooked to perfection and quantity was above our expectations. Lobster ravioli was delicious. Desserts were delicious too. Loved the apple creation and pistachio gelato.
